  • True, but then my workload has started to slow down once again... IDK, I think I am going to give up on commissions for now and just stick to requests atm... It's just simpler and there's no consequence for not finishing something I offered to just do for free. :x
Yes, though I'd been starting to question the point at this time... Before I was thinking of using it as a way to supplement my income, but I'm suddenly working full weeks again, so it's kind of unnecessary... :/ Regardless of what I do, I still have yet to get my scanner hooked back up, so nothing's set in stone yet... >.>
Yeah, things have kind of calmed down now, though my house is still disorganized and I haven't got my scanner back up yet.

Yeah, I guess hand-drawn pics would count as traditional no matter what... I don't have a means to just mail them out and I'm not sure I'd be willing to do that. Scanning would be better for my means, but I'm wondering if commissions are even worth the bother... I refuse to do digitals (computer-drawn pics) because they've always taken too long. :x
Yeah, it hasn't been easy goings lately. Well, my father and I just started moving things today out of her old rental into a storage unit we got last week. We're also taking charge to clean up our place too of clutter we don't need. Probably going to do a thrift sale sometime in the spring because we can't keep stuff in storage forever. At the moment, I'm just hoping to get my desktop with our scanner hooked back up so I can do good images for art again. I had intended to start commissions actually, but my sister's fiasco put a kibosh on that... I'm still trying to figure out how to work them, though... I'm thinking off passing off my hand-drawn pics as digitals, since I don't think I can actually go about mailing physical copies to people, but I'm unsure how that would go over. I know there are some people who do that on FA, but I don't want to come across as some sort of swindler... :x
She slipped away in her lift-chair while my mom and I were in the living with her... It was kind of scary actually... :x

Eh, yeah, we've got a mountain of miscellaneous stuff piled in her living room actually, and a whole craft room of things to sort through still. It's not good because her place was just a rental, but the landlord's been putzing around with remods he needs to do before anyone else can move in, so we've had some time but not enough to do anything yet. We're trying to get my lowlife, two-timing, swindler[/u] uncle set up there, but there's a lot to do before he can get in... :x
DUDE, that's great! You did you get the job right after you got your degree or did it take a little bit? Kind of reminds me of the case with Dr. Barnes in Feral Twilight, where I had it set so she took over as the main director at IIPS after her mentor Dr. Nobles stepped down. :P Sadly, I haven't touched FT in a good few years, but I did start up Biohazard again, somewhat anyways... >.> There was a little hype for it about a month ago, but I've been sidetracked by real life issues these past several months... Um, did I tell you my grandma passed away this past April? It's common knowledge amongst my FA friends and in my real life... As sad as it was, some burdens were kind of lifted because it'd become a bit of a hassle caring for her AND keeping her out of a nursing home. :< Things have sort of rollercoastered a bit since then... I've been working more frequently, but my sister got fed up with living in my grandma's former home and moved out. My family has a big mess to contend with now, though some of it's just old trinkets and stuff. :x
Hey, I'm doing good. Been sort of busy with work this summer and things going on in my real life. Otherwise...um, I've been trying to get more into art stuffs since you left last year. Actually, I've gotten really into it at the behest of some friends on Furaffinity. Admittedly, I've been spending more time there than anywhere else... I logged off here a while ago and completely forgot about PC until a few days ago. :x
You apparently haven't been on in over a year...neither have I these past few months either, but I hope things are going well, Wave! :3
Happy Birthday, Wave! I know you haven't been on in a few months, but I hope you have a good time all the same. :3
IDK, DA always seemed a lot more business-like than FA, which is saying something since it seems like every artist on FA only takes commissions and never does art trades or requests. Actually, I was talking things over with one of the people who requested a story from me on FA and he said he stopped going to DA a lot because it's so much more impersonal than FA and it's hard to actually do anything there. But then, that's just one person's opinion, so don't let our resentment towards DA ruin it for you.

Also, heh, the one guy I was waiting for the request from finally got back to me. Turns out he wanted something like a crime story.
Actually, FA doesn't really push that too much. A lot of people use it more for chat than to actually upload things. I've seen people who've been on the site for years and literally only posted a few small things period, and some who haven't posted anything at all.

But, hey, it's up to you. Another difference I forgot to mention is that FA actually is setup to prevent flooding. You're only allowed to post so many pics in a day and can't keep uploading them in rapid succession (like one submission per minute). Sounds goofy, but it does help keep the site from crashing like it used to a few years ago. I mean, it still does from time to time, but even with the heavy traffic, it's not as bad as it was.

But then, FA's not for everyone either. I only brought it up because I've suddenly fallen in love with it again after making a new friend there. DA's okay if it's meeting your needs. I just have serious issues with trying to use it myself.
Heh, maybe freeze is the wrong term. The issue I have is that I go to submit things after I fill out all the information and then it WON'T go through to the uploaded page... :/ DA is such a busy site that I'm not surprised by that, though. Also, that may work for you, but my works are very diversified so much that I can't just keep using the same submission categories all the time (though, I probably could've just been lazy and left things the same all the time).

Furaffinity is just as active as DA, but I rarely ever have an issue uploading things there. The only problem I've had in recent history is when I go to upload something, my browser will occasionally say the site froze on me, but it immediately corrects itself and continues to the submission page, so I just ignore it. I figured that may either be because the site itself is busy, my file is somewhat big, or it's probably my adblocker conflicting with the site momentarily (which is more than likely because I know it does that sometimes on sites that have a lot of ads). In any case, it hasn't really happened lately and it never really bothered me before. I would invite you to join, but I can't vouch for content. While the site does have a mature filter (which I keep on at almost all times), some of the stuff is a little questionable... *facepaws* Who am I kidding? It's almost all the same as DeviantArt, give or take the fact that it's all FURRY stuff.
I'm fine with using my irl name for games, since it's nothing distinct and not something people would think twice about. When it comes to fiction writing, that's an entirely different matter. I mean, the person wanted it as a gift, and I didn't want to turn him down, but had to when he started talking like that.

In my regular fiction, I have to come up with fictional characters. I literally can't write about things that are too close to my reality or reality in general. I have no problem doing casual things, but that's all.

If you're interested in the fanfic, here's a link to it: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14422816/

I probably could post it on DA since I know the requester is on there too, but I always have such a hard time using their submission thing it drives me nuts. It freezes on me every time and I have to close out of the tab/browser and start all over again. It was even doing that on my old computer before too, and I hate DA because of it. I can never get anything to go through the first time! Also, all the things you have to fill out before posting are BS! At least FA only requires a rating, title, and a (one-character) description before you post. Anything else like categories for what your submission's about are strictly optional.
Nope... I guess the guy forgot. However, someone else asked me shortly after posting the one story if I'd hear his request. After he described it, though, I told him I couldn't do it. The concept was beautiful, but when he started describing having the real life versions of himself and his girlfriend in it as well shared some borderline artwork of what he wanted to have them turned into, I started to feel a bit uncomfortable. I have strict policy about not writing about REAL people. I'll do fictional adaptations of them no problem, but I can't write about real people. It just seems too personal and I don't want people to give out personal information like that to me online.
That was really the appeal of GtI, more story to it than the previous games (and that's saying something because Explorers had a really elaborate story). I still need to get back GtI, sometime. Admittedly, I haven't played PMD in general in at least a week because I got sidetracked by a story I was writing for someone on Furaffinity.
Yeah... Well, my standpoint is that the fandom categorizes Pokémon based on a few people's opinions on them when they're first introduced. My Snivy plushie has a cute little smile that always cheers me up whenever I look at him. (His name's Quincy, btw, after I nicknamed my Snivy partner that in PMD-Gates to Infinity.)
Eh, I don't know. Snivy really doesn't strike me as smug really. A little cocky, maybe, but certainly not holier-than-thou. I really hate how people classify it like that, you know. :/
Hehehe, mine's sort of unique. It's a transforming Poke Ball plush I got off Toys'R'Us.com. It's got a zipper that you can open to turn it inside out and make it a Poke Ball or Snivy. Well, I've had a hard time with it since the head doesn't want to go inside the Poke Ball sometimes, but it transforms nicely otherwise. I usually just keep it as a Snivy, though. It's still cute as heck, though. <3
