  • Yeah, those were problems with it, but Lemony Snicket had a marvelous command of voice that made his books sound unique when read.
It's a shame you can't stream more. I also liked that series a lot - I think I still have the whole series somewhere.
I'm quite the huge fantasy nut, hence the collection of authors I like and my writing material. What are some of your favorite books?
Uh... I wouldn't know what that means. It does deal with dark elves, trolls, dwarves, and such. He does an excellent job with his descriptions of the underworld.
He does run-of-the-mill fantasy very well. He's worth looking into if you have the chance, particularly the Drizzt novels.
Hmm... I like Tad Williams a lot, particularly Dragonbone Chair and Otherworld, and I also like Tolkien, R. A. Salvatore, George R. R. Martin, Robert Jordan, and Isaac Asimov.
Yeah I think it is. I can't wait for it. *.* Appearantly you have a choice of 20 different Pokemon, the eprsonality quiz is back, and I heard you can choose if your partner is "cool or cute". I'm not sure if that means choosing their gender or personality, but I don't care. *_*

I completely forgot who Ash was for a moment there
That's what I always keep in mind with characters, but it's never enough to give them an intention. I've made a few bad, yet very driven characters, because I didn't understand the importance of character flaws when I started. Now, I'm careful to give my characters shortcomings, like Sennis' lack of ambition, and Gujen's disdain towards those younger than him. I also like giving characters a quirk, a trait that's neither good nor bad, but makes them stand out, such as Gujen's love for tea.
Bcause it was a pun on something in Katekyo Hitman Reborn called a Dying Will Flame. Since this is a Pokemon board I said Flareon instead of Flame just for fun.
    How'd you get yours?
No, I haven't. That's part of the reason I started online roleplay in the first place. I'm using it as an opportunity to develop a wide range of characters.
I suppose most people have less time on their hands to spend hours reading a longer novel, but I prefer doing longer stories for the freedom it gives me to expand the plot. I like intertwining different narratives that don't seem to have any connection until a particular moment. Longer stories also give me more opportunities to work on character development, an area of writing I'm weaker in.
Part of the key of keeping that interest is to start new beginnings. Having smaller story arcs within the larger one, if done right, can both sustain interest and create a complex interwoven narrative. What I'm working on employs several story arcs that will converge at the climax.
