I saw you have to move to Ruby.
That's sh** news, lets be honest. I've got another patch for Ruby that replaces all OWs with FR Overworlds (I had to make it a few days ago), I'll PM you a link when I'm able.
And I just noticed your edit now (lol, you always do that :D), I totally agree with battling your pseudo rival. They completely abandoned that after RS (well, it was still in Emerald, despite not being in FRLG), and they shouldn't have, in my opinion. When you say full-time Rival, do you mean you'll include more battles and encounters with Wally, yeah? I mean... ALOT more? Twice in the game... Doesn't cut it, in my opinion. (I know you could rebattle him several times, but that doesn't count).
Anyway, it's unfortunate that we both had to restart on Ruby, but this way there's guaranteed to be someone to know of a solution to any problem we may have- though my guess is it's pretty unlikely we'll run into many problems at all.
EDIT: Oh, yeah, some advice- to save time (and for the sake of your sanity), you should seriously just port the maps and tiles from the Emerald version of DarkViolet. I know that the scripts would be messed up, but you'd be writing them again anyway. It's what I did for when I moved Infinity to Ruby (before the format), and it really saved so much time. It's just some advice.
