Not exactly distrust, just a rule of thumb I follow so I don't get hopes up about stuff, I only ever say that now since the PSP scene died.
For about 6 months the PSP hacking community was pretty much dead, and there was a huge number of people claiming to have their own hacked firmware they made. Everyone could see it was fake, and everyone disregarded it, but the hackers said it was real and they would release.
There never was a release, especially after someone hacked their youtube and read their messages, the 2 hackers had been messaging each other laughing about how everyone believed them, so from now on, everything is fake until a solid release, ESPECIALLY for "follow me" routines, I've seen MORE than my fair share of fake ones.

I don't want to name anyone in particular because I don't want to be held responsible for some guy coming to me and flaming me for calling someone an elitist or something like that. But you don't have to look especially hard for them. Like I said, most of my examples were indeed hyperboles so you would be hard-pressed to find a true elitist, but they are out there. That I can assure you of. If I can I will try to find you a thread.
