Teachers have the role of teaching students, vaguely put. When not in class or otherwise finding a way to support the growth of a student or student(s) they are free to pursue personal interests much like students. Sadly, Westside was a teacher. So no, a spot did not just open up. But hey! You're allowed up to 3 characters and only your first caracter takes up a spot. That means if you take a teacher you're allowed to then take a student despite the spots being full.

Since it's summer, a ton of new RPs are being submitted. And spots for each Journey RP go by really, really, really fast. (Honestly, I was close to giving up my spot for Pokemon Pangaea to a new member, but he didn't want it lol). I do recommend Pokemon Trainer Academy, but they don't have any student spots left. You can sign up as a teacher, though. Once you sign up as a teacher, you can do a student character once you get the hang of it in the RP.

I'm also working on an RP as well. But it's been delayed for now because I have other things to do at PC (as well as irl...so it's gonna be a while lmao)

Umm... I tried also inserting the body text routine only and using that hack only and it worked perfectly.

Make sure you've used loadpointer 0x1 0xPOINTER_TO_TEXT since it's that parameter that the routine uses to get the text. Take note that if you didn't loadpointer and used the special 0x108 immediately, it's going to stay in a black screen and cause screeching noises because the routine is aiming at 0x00000000 (GBA BIOS) which has read-protection.

No, I'm pretty sure just having F7 will show [player].

Not sure, but if you edit your string in a Hex Editor and edit the string, where it would say "player", and put the byte "f7". That should work.
