  • That's true. Obviously, I'm no expert, but I think it's kind of like "Does the team make the player or does the player make the team?" It could go either way. Anything can effect a player's abilities on the field. It's the same for everyone, not just Messi. They just pay attention to him more.

    That's awesome. *u* Since you play, do you think you could pull that off? I think that's like 1/5th luck though.

    No, it's just a second language. They both learned it at school, and they lived in Colombia for a few years before moving to America, so they're really fluent.
    Wow, you're really attentive to the players. Much more than I could ever be. Most people would be like "Oh, I just think he's a better player". That's very impressive! I'm going to keep an eye on Messi the next time I watch him play. I don't think I watch matches consistently enough to keep tabs on the players like you do. :O

    But yes, Ronaldo is amazing, and even somone like me can recognize his superiority as a striker.

    I don't think I was that interested about soccer in '06, but I agree about the vuvuzelas. I remember in the summer of 2010, my dad would turn on the TV to watch the matches and the drone of vuvuzelas would just continuously buzz in our ears. It was nauseating.
    Actually, I prefer the term "football" too, to tell you the truth. My dad and my sister speak fluent Spanish, so they call it "futbol", so I've gotten used to it.
    That's cool. :D I'm from the U.S., lol, but I've mentioned that before.

    Oops! My bad, I automatically assumed you were talking about Ronaldo de Lima. ;; Ah, Cristiano Ronaldo. xD I don't know much about him but my sister's in love with because he's handsome. Why do you prefer Messi, if I may ask?

    Yeah, I did catch a bit of Euro 2012, however the broadcast times made it difficult to catch. I think the only one I saw all the way through was Croatia vs Spain. That one was a good match.
    I did watched most of FIFA 201o though, but that was a bit ago. We don't get broadcasts of the League matches here, unfortunately. Maybe I can find them online.
    That's good. I hope school works out well for you.
    Yeah, I think I go on these forums just to get reconnected to people who are the same. It's just nostalgic.

    You're from Portugal, right? I like Messi, but it's unfortunate that Ronaldo had to retire. Inevitable questions? Like "why"? xD

    National teams. Sometimes I watch matches between clubs too, but I haven't catching much lately, since we don't get broadcasts of the matches that often.
    That sucks! I wish I could be more active too.
    Yeah, it's tough, because Pokemon's like, my childhood. :,<

    I just like to watch soccer because I'm no good at sports (except running, I'm in cross country).
    Who do you support? Since the U.S. doesn't have many clubs here, I just watch internation matches.
    Well then I think we'll be seeing a lot of each other? xD I used to spend a lot of time in the Pokemon discussion sections, but I haven't been following Pokemon as I have before recently. I love soccer. :O

    I don't think I'll be active, but I think I will definitely drop by.
    Hi there. Yeah, I just came back to visit PC yesterday, after leaving for more than half a year. It's probably both though, I don't spend a lot of time on the forums except form Other Trivia because it's active.
    Exam. In some hours :)

    Haha, I need sleep too... gawd. Yay for wednesdays then! Probabilities, ugh. :p Good to hear that you found it easy.
    We only learned them the one month we did trig., so I don't ever remember bringing 'em up otherwise XD; (However, I think Sine/Cosine/Tangent was brought up at least once more...)

    I think the only time teachers ever liked my writing was when it was freestyle--i.e., no research, no prompt (or a prompt so vague there are a variety of things that can come from it), just you and your own (or another person's) imagination. And haha, I know the feeling. "YOU CAN DO REALLY WELL IF YOU JUST TRY HARDER." "BUT I DON'T CARE I'M NOT A FAN OF THE SUBJECT :|"
    I found Trig. to be a lot of fun~ Idk, Sine and Cosine and Tangent (not to mention Secant, Cosecant, and Cotangent) were pretty cool XD;

    Haha, I tend to be that way as well ><; It takes me forever getting long papers done @_@
    Wait, are we talking about melodeath or metalcore here? Since I don't think I've ever really heard growls in metalcore.

    How do you mean synthetic lyrics? Autotune and such?
    I think that the vocals in metalcore fit too well, obviously in there for the sake of accessibility. As such I kinda tend to consider it the pop of metal, if there is such a thing.

    That's the side of pop (and electronic music in general) that I used to not be able to stand; it didn't really seem 'real' or 'genuine' to me. And that's valid, I suppose. I don't really know what changed but I don't think like that any more, though, and I think it's helped me enjoy more music. But I get that it's not for everyone. *shrug*
    Heh, that's all good minus Metallica who, even in the olllllld days, I never had much of a soft spot for. But that's just me.

    Honestly I'm fine with rap if it's done well and some (although tbh not most of it) pop. As for the other stuff you mentioned, yeah, screaming is just... no. Growls never really bothered me, though, and I actually used to be very into the melodeath genre which used a whole lot of growls. But I grew out of it because I thought it was getting worryingly like metalcore which isn't great imo.
    Yeah, orz

    Hahaha, I love Algebra XD; Then again, I love any Math that isn't Geometry. Though, tbh, I haven't done Calculus--I have done Trig. and Logarithms, though.

    Aye! And for some of them, it requires a good eye~

    And nope, English is my first language! I'm just...really terrible at wording things sometimes and writing research papers and the like XD;
    Ohhhhhh, ffffff.

    Haha, I get that ;; I was kinda hoping it'd be similar, especially because the high school I graduated from was considered "college prep", but so far it's pretty different.

    Ffffff, I'm the same. I'm not good when it comes to English and the like (though I am kinda good at grammar); I much prefer Math and Physics and anything that involves calculations. (Except Geometry; I'm no good at that X_X)

    That's part of it! Like I said, it depends on what field you're in. One field specializes in analyzing handwriting, one specializes in analyzing crime scenes, one specializes in facial reconstruction (if the body found is a skeleton or if the face is badly disfigured or w/e), etc. It's one of the more vast sciences I've seen.
    That makes sense. After all, you're in a new environment with new expectations and the like, no?

    Ohhhhh, that sounds like an interesting major. I probably couldn't do Engineering, though I am good at Math and Physics XD; And it stinks that your university doesn't allow guitar playing :< There's no chance of at least starting a club for such, either?

    Forensics is really intriguing, and it can be used in a variety of areas! However, my college only offers Forensic Biology and Forensic Accounting. But still, better than nothing, I guess XD;
    Oh dear, that must not be fun :< I hope you'll be able to conquer that burden!

    And I plan on majoring in Forensic Biology at the moment with a Minor in Music, maybe~ I'm still not 100% sure, though XD; (Then again, how often does someone go into college fully certain of what they'll major in?)
