  • Hi there. I don't suppose you'd be able to whip up a patch to undo the font change to your ROM base? I prefer the Fire Red font, and my attempts to do it myself didn't go so well because I can't find the version of Diego's patch you used.

Update: I managed to find out how to fix it from Diego himself - copy 0x34A50 bytes at 0x1F3100 from a vanilla Fire Red ROM to the hacked ROM.
Hey sorry to bother you again, you know how earlier you said your patch covers the offsets 900000-96FFFF, I have been looking at the Hex editor and you only seem touse the space from like 900000-906000, So would i be able to use the offsets 907000 and I am not planning on adding any updates from your patch?
Yeah I already applied JPANs hack engine.

However Im just curious as to if I applied your hack engine and then applied JPANs hack engine AGAIN, would everything be okay? I know the maps and offsets would all be deleted from the maps, I don't care too much about that. I'm not THAT far in my game where it would take too long to restart everything :P
Hmm okay what would happen if I used your hack applier, then JPANs hack applier on my ROM? By the way thanks a lot for helping me! It means a lot to me! Also the patch is really cool, good job! :)
Oh hmmmm then mind if I ask you something?

If in my ROM I used the patch and I had nothing in the 900000-96FFFF Slots, it wouldn't change anything?

I already used JPAN's hack applier, so that deleted all the unused scripts, so if I apply your applier it won't change anything?
Hello! I'm enjoying your ROM base. Thanks for sharing it with us!

I noticed a problem, though. When I fought Brock, he only had one Pokemon. I opened up the ROM in Trainer Editor and found that Brock had a Geodude and a level 0 "?????????". This doesn't seem to be the case for other leaders, whose Pokemon data displays just fine. Is that just me, or is the problem in the patch?
Thank a lot! That really helps!

Also im just curious do you have a list of offsets that are affected by this patch? Because I really want to add this to my ROM but I don't want to restart my ROM. Do you think it's possible to make a version of the applier that doesn't keep any of the old fire red offsets (like the trainers and such).

If not, do you think it's possible to add the patch then just move the offsets around? If you do, let me know!
Hello! Im sorry to bother you and im sure you get this message ALOT!

Is there a way to make it so Advanced Trainer recognizes the new attacks with your patch?

BTW Great patch by the way! Works great!
This is just a little info about my color choices for Tyranitar, the reason why I made it's belly gray is actually a long explanation that I feel like you should know since you resized it:
    In Pupitar's G/S/C artwork, it was a light-blue color. In Tyranitar's G/S/C artwork, it's belly was a light-blue color.

    In Pupitar's HG/SS artwork, it was a gray-ish color. In Tyranitar's HG/SS artwork, it's belly was a gray-ish color.

This leads me to believe that Tyranitar's belly is literally the remains of when it was a Pupitar, hence why in the master sheet, I changed Tyranitar's belly colors to match Pupitar's (I gave new colors to Pupitar as well, and used these new colors for Tyranitar's belly). Tyranitar's official sprites have some coloring identity crisis, because whoever colored the belly failed to notice that Tyranitar isn't supposed to have a blue belly anymore because Pupitar was retconned as being a grayish color in the HG/SS artwork.

Just thought you should know, lol
Hmm, I think you forgot something. This is the message that Mediafire displays when I click the download link:

This file is currently set to private.
Hiya. I see you updated your rom base to 1.3, but apparently, you forgot to put the link. The one there is for 1.2.
Thanks for getting back to me. It's possible that I wasn't clear enough.

I couldn't even select Togetic, I kept getting an error message before I could even get as far as looking at the current types. I don't have the exact message in front of me, but it was something like "22 not recognised in SelectedIndex"

As far as the readme file is concerned, I must have missed that part you referred to. When I've found my reading glasses, I'll have another look.

Anyway, I love what your patch does. I wish I could do that sort of stuff. I would then try to create an Electro Ball, to make Pikachu more like the anime. Not essential, as Volt Tackle and Iron Tail are already on the moves editing list.
Hello! Been experimenting with your decap and attack patch for Fire Red. Just patching version 1.2 means that Pokemon Editor (accessed via Pokemon Game Editor) kept crashing when I tried to select Togetic to add an evolution. Added the 'remove Fairy' patch, and everything seems to be fine. Was intending to use the Fairy-type later on in my hack, but I'll settle for the extra attacks included in the patch.
(Didn't want to post in my thread and break my own rules, so I'm VMing you instead) Would it be possible for you to resize Shelgon's front sprite too? I just think it's wrong to resize Bagon and Salamence but not Shelgon. Yeah I know, B/W Shelgon is the same size as R/S/E Shelgon, but whatever. 90% would do.

(lol I'm such a hypocrite making a request after I said no requests haha)
I tried using it too, but after selecting the .ini and opening the rom (or vice-versa) it prompts the following message: There was an error parsing the Pokémon data.
Hiya there! I've been using your base for FR (which is incredible). I've been wondering, since the new attacks can't be applied to Trainer's Pokémon via A-Trainer, how to do it via hex? Is there a way to make A-Trainer recognize them?
Hey bayerf, would you mind posting your animations from you rom base in the 4th/5th move anim/effect resource pretty please? :) I am curious to see your sucker punch battle script
