Appearance ]
Genki looks like a typical, if slightly overweight, Arcanian. He has straight and greasy obsidian-colored hair, fair skin complexion, and extremely slanted eyes (even for an Arcadian), under which he has jet-black irises. He has a small mole on his right cheekbone, just under his right eye. Genki prefers to keep his hair buzzed short, and although he's still too young to grow a full beard, he tends to be reluctant to shave the peach fuzz on his face that he childishly refers to as a "beard". Genki is a bit robust, or husky. He refers to it as being "big-boned", but the fact of the matter is that he is simply not in a good physical shape. He is chubby; he has fat cheeks (both above and below), a big belly and… well, let's just call him a bit thick. Clothing-wise, Genki tends to stick to shorts and short-sleeved shirts. Then again, this is mostly because he never does anything other than chill home or go out to walk Puppy, his family's Lillipup. Therefore, upon departing on his journey, Genki had to leave with something simple.

Personality ]
Born on Septemburg City, Genki has had to move to several times throughout his childhood due to his father's career. Unfortunately, being a foreigner was never good for Genki, who got bullied constantly in his schools, both in Kanto and Johto because of his height and accent. Due to this constant treatment, Genki began to shy away from social interaction, keeping to himself and the one thing that called to him: technology. Therefore, Genki has become extremely introverted and withdrawn from others. He is jumpy and tense when outdoors or in public, and can only really calm down when he's alone. However, by alienating himself from the rest of society, Genki's been able to dedicate himself to the thing that intrinsically calls to him, technology. Genki is able to take apart and reconstruct any sort of electronic device, and is a huge fan of anything electronic, and any technology new to him. However, deep down, in the end, he is just another teenage boy, who has no idea what's going on with him, or around him. Hey, what can I say?

History ]
Born on Septemburg City, Genki has had to move to several times throughout his childhood due to his father's career. Unfortunately, being a foreigner was never good for Genki, he got bullied constantly in his schools because of his height and accent. Due to this constant treatment, Genki began to shy away from social interaction, keeping to himself and the one thing that called to him: technology.
Although he lived most of his life on Septemburg City, Genki doesn't remember much of what his life was like as a kid. However, he does remember that he had a fairly average life back then. He was friends with his schoolmates, he did good in school, he liked going to the forest for picnics and to look at the wild Pokémon… but this all changed when his family moved for the first time. He was only eight years old at the time; his father was a branch manager in a local Pokéblock company and was offered a raise in salary to go to their Saffron City affiliate as a financial advisor.
Genki didn't necessarily like Saffron City. The city was huge compared to Septemburg, and Septemburg was one of the larger cities in Arcanum, so needless to say, he was overwhelmed. His lifestyle also changed a lot; in Arcanum he would walk to school, but it wasn't "safe" to do so in Saffron, so his father would drive him to school in his new car. In school, all his friends, or better put: "peers", were bigger than him, and a lot meaner. They would bully Genki; they called him names, hid his school materials, stole his food… hit him. In the meantime, his mother enrolled for classes at the local university (something she hadn't been able to do in Arcanum), which greatly reduced his time with her. Genki was alone and alienated in his new home, the only time he spent at peace was sitting at home, playing in his family's computer.
The second move came four years later. Some higher up positions shifted around in his father' company, and he was offered another raise with the condition that he move to Goldenrod City. Once more, Genki had to pack up and leave his life behind. Goldenrod City was brighter than Saffron City, and better protected, although at the time there was uproar as a number of trainers complained of having been "mugged" by local policemen at night. School, however, was exactly the same it had been in Saffron City. Uninterested in being "the new guy" again, he completely dedicated himself to electronics, learning how to rewire computers, TVs and consoles. Genki didn't make a single friend in Goldenrod; only a year after he'd moved here, his father became the CFO of his company, and had to move to Castelia City.
Castelia City was by far the largest city Genki ever got to live in (or at least the tallest). Bright, noisy, and full of life, Genki fell in love with the street performers, and vendors, and artists at the very first sight. Someone who did not, however, was his mom. She had been fine with Saffron and Goldenrod cities, but Castelia City was a tad bit too… "liberal" for her. She disliked, the informal tone of strangers, the shouting, the fighting, and above all, she disliked the "skimpiness" of girls' clothing here. Determined not to allow her son to grow up in a city so "deprived of morality", she spoke to her husband about moving back to Arcanum. Six months later, she took Genki back to her family in Januvale Town. Genki's parents had finally divorced after years of unhappiness, but Genki could only imagine it was his fault.
Now, Genki has been living in his grandparents' house for close to three years. He has accepted the fact that his parents are divorced, and is excited to go back to Castelia City to visit his father (and his super-hot new girlfriend). He also understands his mom's new relationship with a widowed childhood friend of hers, although to be honest, he secretly wishes for that a-hole's demise. Although he's no longer teased or bullied, Genki still has a hard time getting to know people, and continues to spend much of his time alone and indoors, although he does walk his grandparents' Lillipup at least once a day. The truth is, life's been getting better, but strange dreams and a weird mark on his wrist mark the coming of new perils, and a great adventure…

Genki splashed water on his face and looked up at his reflection on his bathroom mirror. He was still panting visibly, he noticed, and although his face was wet with water, he recognized that the droplets on his neck and chest were beads of sweat.
Immediately, his gaze diverted to his left wrist. The mark was still there; it had been there for almost two weeks now.
"That dream again." He told himself in a detached tone. His mind was still focused on it.
There was something about this dream; maybe it was the feeling of the night chill kissing his face as he flew over Arcanum, or the realism of the scenes he saw below him. Maybe it was the fact that he'd had the same recurring dream over and over, or that strong, booming voice which he could feel but not hear… somehow. Then again, maybe it was the mark…
His gaze remained fixed upon the mark that was now set upon his skin. It seemed to blend into his skin, not quite black on one side and white on the other, but a combination of those with his skin color. Around it, the peeling of his skin seemed to be getting better. He wasn't quite used to the mark yet, but at least the idea of trying to pull it off along with his skin didn't seem so… rational.
Dejected, he went ahead and got in the shower, trying to clear his mind off the dream, but only managing to think more about it. The things he heard and did in the dream, the flying and the booming yet unheard voice were always the same. However, the things he saw never were, and upon closing his eyes, he could still see the scene from that night: a boat crashed against a sea cliff, and the passengers scrambled to the lifeboats or were left behind to drown, along with hordes of caged shiny Pokémon.
Lightning struck, blinding everything but that blue symbol…
A knock suddenly interrupted his daydreaming. "Genki! Breakfast is ready!" He heard his mom say from across the bathroom door.
"Coming!" he replied.
Genki almost slipped as he stepped out o the shower, but managed to catch himself. He dried himself, and looked out the window to check the weather. The Sun was blazing, but the wind felt nice, so he put on a pair of shorts and a short-sleeved shirt. Then he bandaged his left wrist over where the mark was situated, and headed to the kitchen.
He gave his mom and grandma a good morning kiss, and went on to join his grandfather in the dining room.
"Good morning" Genki said as he gave his grandfather a kiss. His grandfather only grunted as a response however, and remained fixated upon the TV, which depicted a scene much like the one Genki had seen in his dreams.
~…this was brought to you by your local news station…~ ~beep.~
"Hey! I wanted to watch that!" Genki complained, looking up at his mother, who was still holding the remote control.
"No watching TV while we eat Genki, you know that." She replied.
"I didn't even turn it on!" Genki protested, but his grandfather broke in, still visibly upset by what he'd seen on the news.
"Damn those foreigners and damn those poachers!" Looking up at his wife of fifty-something years, he continued: "I told you didn't I? From the first time they started trying to meddle in our affairs, I told you they were only here to mess up our lifestyle! Do you remember when I took you to Septemburg for spring vacation when we were still dating? That was what, forty years ago?"
"Fifty sweety."
"Fifty what?" (By the way, now is probably a good time to mention that Genki's grandfather has Alzheimer's disease.)
"Nothing babe, how's your breakfast?"
"Good." He replied after a pause, dejected.
Genki hated seeing this happen, his grandfather was always so strong-willed and opinionated, but ever since he moved to Januvale Town, he'd had the misfortune of having to witness his grandfather's health deteriorate more and more each passing day. To make matters worse, he seemed to forget Genki's name, and therefore Genki learned to respond whenever he blurted out any male name.
"Sweety." Genki heard his grandma say, now directed to him. "Are you sure your wrist is fine? You've had it bandaged for such a long time."
Genki almost choked on his food. "Yeah grandma," he lied. "It's just a bit tender still, and I think I may have made it worse yesterday when I tried doing some pushups." Genki wasn't very good at lying. He thought he was, but in all honesty, not even his grandma would believe he was actually doing pushups.
"Oh well, as long as you're fine," she said. "Would you be a dear and walk Puppy around the park after breakfast? Make sure he does his… business too"
"Sure thing grandma."
