As in the original Black and White there was one area dedicated to being version exclusive based upon which version of the game you played. However in Black2/White2 after several years these areas have changed and both showcase certain Battle Facilities, Black Tower in Black City and White Treehollow in White Forest. Both these areas made the player face many trainers on a particular floor until they found the gatekeeper and once they won in a battle they could advance to the next floor. Later once you get to the end you find Alder's grandson Benga packing 3 powerful level 80 pokemon. Anyways after you defeated Benga you are rewarded with the key to Black City/White Forest and could send that over to a different version using Unova Link blah blah blah. And then you finally get your little shiny dragon based upon your version whoo!

Anyways finally to the question...did anyone here beat Benga and succeed in beating these Battle Facilities? For me it was a necesity and my pokemon leveled up a bunch because of it and i really didnt care about the keys that much more for the sake of getting my shiny and being able to buy more items at the markets which will also begin to sell items after you beat said battle facility. So did anyone else beat them and get their special shiny?

I was really glad that you got EXP from these areas, and I did end up using them to grind level up quite a few pokemon to level 100. I did beat Benga and get my Pank dratini in the process, and while i'm annoyed that they used legendaries, overall I did quite like the facility.

I never really did the Black Tower/White Treehollow challenge, but it is nice you gain EXP from the trainers and you have no restrictions on what Pokemon you can use, meaning you can destroy things with a powerful legendary. The shiny Dratini or Gible was also a nice prize to those who completed the challenge.

I beat Benga yeah. Several times. Black Tower/White Treehollow was nice because it was a good way to get some exp at basically any level since the lower floors had lower leveled stuff and the levels would increase as you climbed, going all the way up to the upper 70s (and then the level bosses).

I thought the way the Tower was structured was well done and was a good way to level up my Pokémon, especially at the higher levels.

I defeated Benga on my old save file earning the Shiny Dratini in the process. (It is now a Shiny Dragonnair in my X game)

I plan to defeat it again to earn a Shiny Dragonite to my team.

I loved basically everything about these facilities. One was that they were new battle facilities--I love having as much content as possible in my games. Two also ties in a bit with one: since you gained Experience from the battles (and had a goal to strive towards--fighting a new NPC, Benga, and obtaining a shiny Pokémon when victorious), it was fine that they were standard battles and nothing out of the ordinary like a Battle Frontier would have. Three would be that having the gatekeeper made traversing the levels more interesting and challenging. And four would be that I felt these facilities took the best advantage of the key system. Without getting too sidetracked about the key system, I think it was great that both versions were able to partake in either facility.
