[Let's Play] NecrumWarrior Plays the Sonic Franchise (Some cursing)

Hello, ladies and gentlemen! I am NecrumWarrior and I recorded some awesome Let's Plays for some of my favorite games of all time! That's right, the way past cool furry anthropomorphic animal we all know and love: Sonic the Hedgehog!

I have also recorded Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and the very first episode just went live today! I had a lot of fun recording it with my new Hyperkin GN6 controller, which accurately recreates the original 6 button controller for the Sega Genesis!


So, here's the first episode! It's a bit longer than the others will be because of how quickly I blasted through the first few zones.

Now, I do this as a hobby primarily, and make no money from these videos. All I really want is for people to see them. That said, I would certainly appreciate new subscribers. I have stagnated for a long time without ever breaking 100 subs, or even 50. So if you enjoy the videos, please, hit the subscribe button so I can feel like I'm making some progress. It's hard to want to continue doing this sometimes even if I do find it quite enjoyable. Until next time, I don't have a catch phrase! ;)

Maybe eventually, barring Sonic Heroes, Shadow The Hedgehog, Sonic 06, and Sonic Colors which aren't on PC. Most of those are crap anyway with the exception of Sonic Colors. I am for sure playing the classics, Sonic Adventure, Sonic Generations, and Sonic Lost World.

I played Sonic 06 when it was first released! Do you really want me to go through that trauma again? But yeah if I ever get a proper capture card for my consoles to use I probably would.

I've played it so many times that I know most of the paths. I don't know which are the best, but usually in Sonic games the high route will get you where you want to be. I can understand you hating Casino Night Zone, but I personally enjoy it, with the exception of the infinite bounce trap you can get caught in if you don't know about it.

Also, what is an LGR?

Wow, you weren't kidding. His inflection and mannerisms are different but yeah, the tone of voice is very similar.

Sonic 2's probably my favorite game of all time, so looking forward to seeing the rest of the episodes of this. Should be fun when you get to Metropolis Zone!

Btw, Sonic Heroes is on the pc ;) Was my childhood.

Not gonna lie, there's a small part of me that enjoyed watching you struggle at the end of Mystic Cave. Maybe I've just played this game too many times to know how each Robotnik fight goes, haha.

I know how the fight goes there's just a frustrating amount of RNG to the falling rocks and I got too risky with my extra damage attempts. Plus, you know, no rings!

Surprised you did so well in Metropolis Zone. And gonna be honest, most of the time I play Sonic 2 these days is when I do speedruns, so I forgot about the avoidance technique for that boss fight (I always just try and time my jumps right to hit him and hope for the best).

Hopefully you picked up all of the free lives hanging about Wing Fortress before you make it to the Death Egg Zone!

Finally got around to watching this. Glad to see you made it all the way through, even if you had some struggles near the end (try not to pick up the rings on the floor of the Wing Fortress boss fight- save them for when you lose your other ones!). And I may have felt like yelling at my screen a few times watching you in Death Egg Zone, haha.

I wouldn't blame you for yelling. I completely forgot how to fight the Eggman Robot. I think I've only ever beaten it one other time honestly. For all the years I played Sonic 2 I very rarely made it far enough to challenge him, and usually with few lives remaining to figure him out.

Alex and I decided to record Sonic 3 & Knuckles next time we have a session. We're getting toward the end of Half-Life and it's pretty much hell. We need a break lol.
