  • Bury all your secrets in my skin
Come away with innocence, and leave me with my sins
The air around me still feels like a cage
And love is just a camouflage for what resembles rage again...

So if you love me, let me go. And run away before I know.
My heart is just too dark to care. I can't destroy what isn't there.
Deliver me into my Fate - If I'm alone I cannot hate
I don't deserve to have you...
My smile was taken long ago / If I can change I hope I never know

I still press your letters to my lips
And cherish them in parts of me that savor every kiss
I couldn't face a life without your light
But all of that was ripped apart... when you refused to fight

So save your breath, I will not hear. I think I made it very clear.
You couldn't hate enough to love. Is that supposed to be enough?
I only wish you weren't my friend. Then I could hurt you in the end.
I never claimed to be a Saint...
My own was banished long ago / It took the Death of Hope to let you go

So Break Yourself Against My Stones
And Spit Your Pity In My Soul
    You Never Needed Any Help
You Sold Me Out To Save Yourself
And I Won't Listen To Your Shame
You Ran Away - You're All The Same
    Angels Lie To Keep Control...
My Love Was Punished Long Ago
If You Still Care, Don't Ever Let Me Know
If you still care, don't ever let me know...

    You Learn - Alanis Morissette

    "You live, you learn.
    You love, you learn.
    You cry, you learn.
    You lose, you learn.
    You bleed, you learn.
    You scream, you learn."

Lyrics that are so simplistic, yet so universal.

    Basically any lyric from The Saltwater Room by Owl City; it's just such an adorable song with really sweet lyrics. Specifically though;

    "Time together is just never quite enough, when you and I are alone I've never felt so at home;
    What will it take to make or break this hint of love? We need time, only time;
    When we're apart whatever are you thinking of? If this is what I call home, why does it feel so alone?;
So tell me darling do you wish we'd fall in love? All the time, all the time.
    "

The chorus of this song is just so sweet and it always makes me feel emotional regarding a semi-ex and the time that he played this song to me. He was singing it on Skype after we'd had an emotional conversation and when it got to the chorus... just hngg. This lead to the song having a special feeling for me and especially with the hopeful lyrics of the chorus, they're words that I've always held close to my heart. The whole notion of two people feeling this way about each other is wonderful and the way the lyrics are sung really brings out the warmth in them.

    Right now it's these:

"Born we are the same, within the silence, indifference be thy name
Torn we walk alone, we sleep in silent shades
The grandeur fades, the meaning never known"

    and

"If nothing in the world can change our children will inherit nothing"

Those are from the song "Born" by Nevermore.

Awesome progressive/groove metal aside, the first lines speak to me that no matter what race we are, what religion we believe or not believe, how smart or stupid we are, strong or weak we are, we are all born the same in that we live through life not really knowing what our species' true purpose of being is. We often times cut ourselves off from each other and never really try to understand one another despite our differences. We all live and die without truly knowing the reason why we all do so. If there even is a universal meaning to life to begin with.

The second name speak to me just as it is. The way the world is now, if we don't stand up and actually change what we see wrong, there might one day not be a world for our future generations.

You can fill in the blanks. Suffice to say, I find it wonderfully poetic in its vulgarity.

"But I'm too tired to fall asleep."
    and
"And I'm scared to death that I'll never be afraid

I like these because as far as my brain can comprehend there is no way these feelings could exist in real life. These are both in songs by the electronica band Owl City.

I love it :D and it is so very true at the moment.

As for me I find it very hard to choose just one for me it is probably

    Heart-shaped Box
She eyes me like a Pisces when I am weak,
I've been locked inside your heart shaped box for weeks.
I've been drawn into your magnet tar pit trap,
I wish I could eat your cancer when you turn black...

    and

Meat-Eating orchids forgive no one just yet.
Cut myself on angel hair and baby's breath.
Broken hymen of your highness, I'm left black,
Throw down your umbilical noose so I can climb right back...

both are from Nirvana's Heart-Shaped Box... It i hard for to explain why I love these lyrics but they just hit me for some reason.

  • This is from Sail Away by Styx.

    I'm sailing away,
Set an open course for the virgin sea,
'Cause I've got to be free,
Free to face the life that's ahead of me,
On board, I'm the captain, so climb aboard,
We'll search for tomorrow on every shore,
And I'll try, Oh Lord I'll try, to carry on

    I look to the sea,
Reflections in the waves spark my memory,
    Some happy, some sad,
I think of childhood friends and the dreams we had,
We lived happily forever, so the story goes,
But somehow we missed out on the pot of gold
But we'll try best that we can to carry on

These lyrics just speak to me. It talks about moving on and living life, and childhood memories. I just find it touching. It's one of the only songs I listen to and NEVER get tired of. If you haven't, listen to it!

  • Now this looks like a job for me so everybody just follow me cuz we need a little controversy, cuz it feels so empty without me.

I don't know why I like these lyrics in particular. Probably cuz they're so damn catchy.

  • I don't typically listen to songs for lyrics, rather I listen for good rhythm and music in the background. But there are a lot of lyrics I do like, I probably couldn't list them all :P But yeah, anyone who reads them is probably going to find them weird but oh well xP

"And in her eyes you see nothing, no sign of love behind the tears
    Cried for no one
A love that should have lasted years"

"... But time makes you bolder,
    Children get older
    I'm getting older, too..."

    "I hear the horses thunder
    Down in the valley below
I'm waiting for the angels of Avalon,
    Waiting for the eastern glow"

Probably my all time favorite for some reason:
"I want to be a lion
E-everybody else can pass as cats"
And no, surprisingly it's not entirely because it has to do with lions lol

There's more but I'll stop there.

  • So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

This part of Hero (by Mariah Carey) lyrics encouraged me to never give up and motivates me.

    Unrequited love
To me its nothing but a one man cult
And cyanide in my styrofoam cup
I could never make him love me
    Never make him love me

FRANK OCEAN - BAD RELIGION LYRICS

I feel in love with this song the first time I heard it. It actually inspired one of my fan fics.

I was singing that all during work yesterday. Couldn't get it out of my head, and now it's back in my head, good times.

Shook Ones II by Mobb Deep and everything by CunningLynguists strike me like a firebrick when I listen to them. I have several favorite love songs- one of them being A Song for You by Leon Russell, another being Sea of Love by Phil Phillips and the Twilights. Both are fairly simple but strong. Two of my all time favorite songs are also love songs: Case of You by Joni Mitchell and Take it With Me by Tom Waits. The latter kills me when he sings, "all that you've loved is all you own."
Case of You is entirely brilliant:

Just before our love got lost you said
"I am as constant as a northern star"
And I said "Constantly in the darkness
    Where's that at?
If you want me I'll be in the bar"

On the back of a cartoon coaster
In the blue TV screen light
I drew a map of Canada
    Oh Canada
With your face sketched on it twice
Oh you're in my blood like holy wine
You taste so bitter and so sweet

Oh I could drink a case of you darling
Still I'd be on my feet
oh I would still be on my feet

Oh I am a lonely painter
I live in a box of paints
    I'm frightened by the devil
And I'm drawn to those ones that ain't afraid

I remember that time you told me you said
    "Love is touching souls"
    Surely you touched mine
'Cause part of you pours out of me
In these lines from time to time
Oh, you're in my blood like holy wine
You taste so bitter and so sweet

Oh I could drink a case of you darling
And I would still be on my feet
I would still be on my feet

    I met a woman
She had a mouth like yours
    She knew your life
She knew your devils and your deeds
    And she said
"Go to him, stay with him if you can
    But be prepared to bleed"

Oh but you are in my blood
    You're my holy wine
You're so bitter, bitter and so sweet

Oh, I could drink a case of you darling
Still I'd be on my feet
I would still be on my feet

"If I can't be my own, I'd feel better dead"
That was from the song Nutshell, by Alice in Chains. Not much explaining to be done on this one, it pretty much speaks for itself. It just speaks so much to me. I would definitely reccomend this to anyone to listen to.

"I'm really gonna miss you picking fights

  • Seeds of eulogy to sew along with dreams
Fill the needs that can leave us grieving alone
A symphony resounding in our minds
Guides us through what we knew would come all along

    Oh, and of course:

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
My hate for you defines my lust
Bridges to bridges, you're nothing to me
    Welcome world, Miss Anne Thrope

  • "This has to be, the most beautiful,
the most peaceful place, i've ever been to.
It's nothing like, i've ever seen before.

When I think how far i've come I cant beleive it, yetI see it.
Then I see family, I see the way we used to be..."

    -Phil Collins - Welcome

    Absolutely beautiful lyrics.
