  • Ok, I started my Fighting Type Challenge back up today. I figured out why my game was acting all f***ed up, it does what mine was doing because, when you hack or cheat the game before you fight the first two trainers, the game will freeze.

    ^Started HG
    ^Named myself Locdown
    ^Went downstairs
    ^Got all my stuff
^Went to go see Prof. Elm
^Got a Totodile as my starter
^Went to go meet Mr. Pokemon
    ^Got taken around Cherrygrove
    ^Got the running shoes
    ^Got the Map Card
^Went to the berry dudes house
    ^Got the Apricorn Box
    ^Met Mr. Pokemon
    ^Took his egg
    ^Got the Pokedex
^Went home, skipping as much grass as possible
^Gave the egg to Prof. Elm
    ^Named my Rival Free

All I had time to do today.

  • Fighting Ultimate Challenge Johto Update #2
^Watched Lyra catch a pokemon...TWICE.... (Why do we ALWAYS have to watch this?? It lowers my self confidence...... not really, but its boring.)
    ^Got the Pokeballs
^Checked my map to see how close I was to route 42..... next route please. (Meaning that I am nowhere near it.)
^Checked to see if I was anywhere near any fighting type pokemon. The only close one was Heracross which I have to have Headbutt to get to.....
^Finding a Fighting Type is going to be hard.
^If I can get a Drowzee, and teach it Headbutt then I can get Heracross
    ^HYPERSPEED-TO-CATCH-A-DROWZEE TIME!!!!
^Got past were my game froze when I cheated in Heracross.
    ^Went into Violet City
    ^Went on to Route 36
^Went through the Ruins of Alph
    ^Went to Route 32
^GAME FROZE WHEN I GOT INTO A BATTLE!!!!
I dont think I can do this challenge anymore in Johto...... Johto hates me, so I will hate it.
Going to skip Johto and come back later. It is my least favorite region after all.

    ^Lost to May??????????????????????
^That was the most shameful battle of my life.

You are going to find it hard in this challenge, Mainly because there are only like 2 ice types you can get in Platinum and 1 you have to trade in I think. Which means you will need to hack in a Glaceon to complete your challenge.

Flint is going to be tough on you! :D

  • Update 1:

    Bug Monotype on Fire Red

So, I picked Charmander as my starter. Ventured out, caught a Caterpie and Weedle. I then released Charmander so I wasn't tempted to use him. I trained my Caterpie and Weedle to eventually evolve into Kakuna, Metapod and then soon after Butterfree, Beedrill.

Entered the Pewter City Gym and challenged the trainer, beat him with ease using Butterfree's Confusion as he failed to pull off any Rock-type moves.

I then went on to face Brock. Butterfree took care of the Geodude in the same way as the trainer, with Confusion. Butterfree was then KO'ed by Onix's Rock Tomb and Beedrill was sent out. It was very close, but Beedrill turned out the victor after somehow surviving 2 turns of Rock Tomb.

  • Update 2:

    Bug Monotype on Fire Red

Managed to defeat all trainers on Route 3, training my Pokemon. Mt. Moon was a slight pain but caught a Paras and taught it Bullet Seed with the TM at the start of the cave. Paras was able to single-handedly defeat all trainers in the cave.

Arrived at Cerulean and headed straight for the Gym, defeated both trainers before facing Misty. Misty posed a threat, however Paras OHKO'd Staryu with Bullet Seed and almost defeated Starmie with the same move. Beedrill switched in and Fury Attacked Starmie to finish it off. Misty defeated.

Don't be discouraged by what LMFAO said. There's definitely more than two ice types in Platinum. I can think of five off the top of my head. Anyway, you can't hack any pokeomon in since eevee can be obtained before the third gym. I know it will suck playing with just an eevee for a while, but that's just how things are sometimes.

He can't evolve that Eevee until the last gym so what is the point in even doing it as an Ice challenge.

Also the only Ice types would be:

    Glaceon,
    Mamoswine,
    Glalie,
    Froslass.

  • EXACTLY. You can get 1 before the 3rd gym (Eevee counts) and most of the rest later, BEFORE postgame. So no, you're still wrong, because if he follows your advice and hacks in something, that run is disqualified.
