Pokemon Valde Bellum

This comic is rated T/M, and involves death, violence, bloody scenes, and depictions of a dystopia.

Disclaimer: Do not worry – death will not involve your character; only NPC characters created by me (Royal).

History:

It has been five years since war has been declared in the nations. A war against the teams known as Team Plasma, Team Magma, and Team Rocket; now formally known as The Acies. The Acies are poisonous, infectious, manipulative, and cunning men and women, working in union to rule the world in a single absolute monarchy.

In the first two years, countless gyms and Elite Four members have fallen to the Acies's power, resulting in countless deaths. That was the price of anyone who stood up against their rule – death.

The ones who stood in their way were executed publicly, models to all who dared oppose the monarchy. Owning Pokemon has become illegal, and all captured Pokemon had been transferred to concentration camps located within the main walls of The Acies Capital, located in what used to be known as Celadon City in the Kanto region.

The nations are mostly known for their original given names, however, with the rule of the Acies, they were given 'better' names by the ruler of the Acies. Kanto became known as Primo, Johto as Secundus, Hoenn as Tertius, Sinnoh as Quartus, and Unova as Diapente. In private, most members of the regions call their home by their appropriate name.

The Acies now believe that all opposing revolutionaries have been dealt with, but that isn't the truth – only what they choose to believe.

Your Story:

You are a young citizen of one of the five regions, and despite the Acies's public message pronouncing that there are no more revolutionaries alive, you believe otherwise. You were born before the Acies waged war and roped the world into an absolute monarchy, and you trained before then, but that was years ago, before your Pokemon were taken from you.

You are a revolutionary at heart, but you know if you step forward and proclaim it you'll be shot on sight. Instead, you wait for your opportunity, and soon it comes – knocking on your door.

You answer the door only to find an Acies associate standing there, and you fear for your life. After all, when does an Acies associate come to someone's door without it meaning execution? But instead, he only smiles and offers his hand. The honest look upon his face makes you think this man was an of Acies, but a revolutionary. "My friend," he begins as you take his hand. "Valde Bellum has begun."

Valde Bellum? But before you can ask what he means, a truck pulls up and you are escorted into the back, no windows on any side. And then you are off.

Time seems to skip ahead, and soon you find yourself within a building, no idea where you are, along with four others; these others are too confused and don't know where they are as well. You think you were captured, that the man at the door was indeed an Acies associate and you will be executed for being involved with thoughts of revolution.

But that isn't the case; you watch as a woman in her late twenties steps forward in front of the five of you. And you recognize her – she was supposedly one of the revolutionaries executed three years ago. She was one of the champions of the Kanto Elite. What was she doing here?

Well, you're just going to have to find out.

Name of Character: Tray O'Brian
Age of Character: 17
Gender: Male

Appearance: Tray is a tall and lanky individual who prides himself in wearing dark blue and black clothing. He has medium length blond hair with especially long bangs that hides his forehead. He wears rectangular, semi-thick framed glasses that hardly stand out from his dark brown eyes. He carries around a white schoolbag for holding supplies with shoes to match.

Region From: Unova

History: Tray has never been one to accept authority; growing up as a kid he often was the one who would steal from the cookie jar and other mildly malicious acts. Tray was a trouble maker, and his parents put up with a lot of his head aches reasonably well. Tray was very crafty with the way he accomplished things; when he got his first pokemon, he began working with their unique talents in order to cause further mischief. These kinds of light hearted pranks were Tray's way of bonding with his pokemon, and the connection he shared with them really shone through.

Tray's fun was put to an end the day that his pokemon were taken away from him. When his pokemon were forcibly taken away from him, Tray felt true anger. His joyous and prank-filled days were replaced with those of bitter resentment and the urge to fight back against what Tray considered to be his oppressors. Without access to his pokemon Tray's options were limited, but he would often use his scheming abilities to fight back against the Acies in minor ways, often trying his best to fight back without putting his family at risk.

Roleplay Example: Tray sat at his parent's old birch desk as he tapped his chin with the pencil he was holding in his hand. He often did this when he was planning something; Tray thought of ways he could steal a set of the Acies walkie talkies without being caught. It was something he had been mulling over for weeks. Tray looked down at one of the many papers that he had written out his brain stormed idea on. Details about his 'master plans' that would never see the light of day lay scattered over the entire surface of the old desk. Looking down at these failed and improbable ideas sent a jolt of anger to Tray's already grumpy morning. He angrily grabbed at one of the sheets and tore it into pieces before simply letting it drop to the floor. Tray was always trying to 'go against the man' in small secretive little ways, but trying to resist the Acies forces was like trying to block off a tidal wave. Tray slammed his fist down on the desk out of fustration; the old desk creaked and rocked before one of the wheels popped loose from it's attachements and rolled under one of the nearby cupboards.

"You'd make excellent firewood!" Tray shouted as he shot an accusing finger at the desk, but immediately regretted saying it. The desk was a piece of junk, but it was a piece of junk that meant a lot to his parents. Which meant that Tray had to care for it whether he liked it or not. Tray exhaled deeply before he began to bend over to pick up the loosened wheel; it was the stress that was getting to him and the feeling of morbid helplessness to improve the world.

Tray's hand stopped halfway to the broken wheel before he heard a knocking at the door. He hesitated for a moment; no one ever came here to simply visit, and cautiously approached the closed door. Tray wrapped his hands around the door knob and hesitated once again, a pang of worry hitting him before he pulled the door wide open. The rest you guys know about.

Favorite Element: Ground

(I screwed up on the element, my apologies. I had assumed that when I read Grass, Fire Water etc that we were supposed to use pokemon types rather then the actual elements. Sorry, I changed it to be more appropriate.)

Name of Character: Nicka Maple
Age of Character: 17
Gender: Female
Appearance: Nicka is very short for her age. She is thin as well, has long brown hair and brown eyes. Due to a little disorder in her spinal column, one of her legs is longer than the other. Nicka knows how to deal with it, by simply wearing shoes of which one of the heels is higher. Nicka likes to wear a ponytail, it keeps her hair from sticking to her face and upper body whenever she's sweaty. She wears t-shirts and jeans most of the time, mostly brightly coloured ones.
Region From: Hoenn
History: Nicka has ADHD and is extremely hyperactive due to that. She strongly believes in her fantasies and dreams due to something actually traumatic she experienced when younger. One morning, the day before the Acies started the war, all the lights went out in Nicka's house. Light swirled around like mad and created strong winds, causing every single piece of furniture to be knocked flying. Nicka still doesn't know how this could've happened but she believes it was magic. Nicka has always had trouble with making friends and clearly doesn't like being around others. Her best friend is a little Eevee who came along her house one day.
Roleplay Example: "Mom, I'm home!" Nicka yelled throughout the house. She heard a small response from the other room, where the kitchen was. Delicious smells filled the area around her, Nicka distinguished grilled chicken and mashed potatoes. She smiled widely and ran upstairs to think over one and another. Something was seriously wrong, and she knew it. She knew it by the way Eevee ran up to her this morning. The small pokémon was panicked as heck and although Nicka calmed him down a bit, she couldn't help but think about him. What had upset the small creature so badly? She didn't have time to think about that, though. It was time for some change here. All the gym leaders were killed. Nicka knew something had to be done, but she needed help for that. There was always complete chaos raging on in her head. She had to do breathing exercises, yoga to calm her spirit and all that kind of stuff to help her tranquilize, but it didn't help at all. She needed help if she wanted to do something successfully.

Nicka heard a banging on the door. "Nicka, would you be so kind as to open the door for me?" she heard from downstairs. Nicka ran down the stairs. "I'm on it, mom!" she yelled while running. The opened the door and gasped, her heart started beating like mad as she was quickly escorted to a truck...

gunnerpow7: Sure, you can reserve Sinnoh, but please get your application filled out as soon as possible. I'll only be able to give you three days before I let others try to take it.

DJYosh: Accepted! And that's no problem about the element, haha.

The_Original_Raitan: Sure. But I'll only be able to give you three days before I let others try to take it.

KoboraX: Sure. But I'll only be able to give you three days before I let others try to take it.

gusfromholland: Denied for right now. But don't worry, this can easily be fixed. In this rp there is no magic whatsoever, and the Acies have taken any Pokemon, so there is no chance your character could know an Eevee after the Acies had taken over.

(As I accept you and tell you your Pokemon, you may immediately start, but don't continue on until I tell you to do so – after I look over your post, that is. Haha.)

Chapter One: Welcome to Island Dauoalogn
Post 1

The revolutionary standing in front of you is one of the ex-champions, and you know her for starting her journey in Kanto back when Professor Oak had given young Pokemon to new trainers. She had made a name for herself, battling and training in both gym and coordinator matches. You had always wondered why she had fallen to the Acies with the power she held, but now you know she never did. Her name is Rayne.

"I'm sorry for taking you from your homes so quickly," Rayne begins, crossing her arms as she looks to each one of you. "But the Acies were closing in on our locations in the regions. We needed to act fast."

A bag is placed in front of each of you, and you look at it before returning your gaze to Rayne. "I'm Rayne, Leader of the Valde Bellum. And you few have been recruited to help us achieve equality and to throw the Acies from their reign."

Rayne gestures to one of the men standing at her side, and he steps forward, a large box in his hands. You watch as he opens the top and inside, there are several round spheres you thought you would never see again in your lifetime – Pokeballs.

"Each of you will take one, and it will be your partner through your hardships," Rayne says, and she gestures to all of you to take a Pokeball. And you do. "We luckily saved quite enough Pokeballs and other brands for you to catch some Pokemon too. Speaking of which-"

You watch as Rayne turns and behind her, the walls seem to open up, doors becoming a gateway to a beautiful wilderness. "Here you will be able to travel out and capture some new Pokemon to build your team. And don't worry – we cannot appear on the Acies radar due to the power of some of our countless Psychic types. Come with me now, please."

Rayne gestures for you to follow. You each grab the bag at your feet and keep your Pokeball close to you, and as all of you are outside with Rayne in front of you, the doors close behind, leaving you all in the wilderness. The small field splits up into several different paths, and it's up to you which one you take.

"Use your head, pick your path," Rayne says. "But don't let your Pokemon out until you're far enough away that you don't see me, understand?" And so, Rayne gestures for you to go out and take the routes, whichever one you take. The trees and the canopy make it impossible to see what lies within each route. "Good luck, and be sure to follow your path."

What you do: Choose a route and include it in your post, and you may also let out your Pokemon and interact with it. The path you take will affect your new posts. Your post should end after you interact with your Pokemon.

Each backpack contains: 1 Flashlight, 1 Gallon of fresh water, 10 Cans of Dried Food, 10 Pokeballs (You don't have to use all of them), 1 Long Rope, 5 Potions (for your Pokemon), 10 Iodine tablets (help to purify water), 4 Sticks, 1 Sleeping Bag

Route 1: To the farthest left seems to just be a small rocky path, similar to a path you would find while hiking along country sides, and some fall-colored trees perk out here and there.

Route 2: To the right of Route 1 is what seems to be a semi-dense forest. Something you'd find in a deciduous forest. Not as dense as a jungle, but not as easily maneuverable as Route 1 could be. The path is rocky and covered with trampled leaves.

Route 3: On the right of Route 2 is an extremely dense forest, and there's barely any light coming from within. The route is full of muck and the trees are covered with moss and vines. It gives off a fetid smell. I wouldn't suggest going in there unless you have a source of light and you know your way around a jungle, but that is up to you.

Route 4: The jungle splits off in what seems to be a plain, like the one you are currently in, but with rolling hills and a beautiful sun beating overhead. Seems to be the easiest route, but that's for you to judge.

Route 5: The plain seems to have dispersed in a large rocky area, with small rolling mountains, but packed with rocks and dangerous mountainous objects.

Route 6: A line of trees cuts off Route 5 and Route 6, for this route is covered in sand and desert rocks. The wind prevents you from seeing fifteen feet ahead of your nose. Do you want to risk taking this route, not knowing where you actually will be heading?

Route 7: Another line of trees cuts off Route 6 and Route 7. This route, like the previous one has sand, however also has shells and sea objects. The sand glitters with the sun and you believe you may find water if you go down this route. Seems to be an easy route, but that's for you to judge.

Tray O'Brian

Tray was caught completely speechless when the Golett formed out of the white light. The automaton pokemon blinked and studied it's surroundings, it's strange and almost robotic eyes blinking systematically. The Golett turned it's head and met eye-to-eye with Tray. They locked eyes for a moment, both Trainer and Pokemon studying each other. Tray suddenly had recollections of his old Pokemon Team. Tray quicked ducked down and hugged the Golett. It had been so long since he had even seen a pokemon, and now he had one of his own.. Tray turned to Rayne who was over-looking the display.

"Th-thank you." Tray could feel his face burning up; he felt embarrassed about letting his pent up emotions out in front of everyone. Tray held out his pokeball to his new-found pokemon and returned it. Tray hastily headed off to a route without a second thought; he was afraid his emotions would betray him again before he got out of sight. He marched his way through the 5th route. Tray was too caught up in his thoughts to notice the area gradually becoming more rocky and covered in stones.

(He chose the 5th route, just for clarification. Mountains ahoy!)

Depending on how long you want to be in the route, you can have as many posts (with a maximum of 4) to train/capture Pokemon here before continuing on to the next location. But you may not want to use all your Pokeballs on this route because there are other Pokemon to be found in other locations in this route. Great battling posts can also result in your Pokemon leveling up faster, and the rarer a Pokemon is, the harder it will be to capture and defeat.

If you are not familiar with trying to capture a Pokemon, you have to end your post with the Pokeball shaking after the Pokemon is transferred inside. Depending on how your battle with said Pokemon goes, I will say whether your catch was successful or not and what level it will be, because some vary.

Happy traveling!

Route 5:
If you are not accustomed to climbing high and extremely mountainous terrain, this is a tough course. You could find yourself out of breath quickly enough with the climbing you have to do. Some moments, when the climb isn't too steep, you rest for a short break.

The Pokemon you can find in this location are:

(I just realized that every one of the pokemon's attacks do not affect Golett with the exception of Gligar's poison sting. And Golett doubly resists it. For the sake of RP I'll make Normal type attacks affect Golett.)

Tray continued walking away from the others in a single minded manner until he was quite a distance from the woods. He looked over the shoulder to see that the trees were behind him. Ahead of him lay a mountain area. Looking over the stone and all of the treacherous landscape, Tray immediately regretted walking down this path. The others were probably skipping through a jolly meadow while Tray was forced to climb dangerous rocky landscapes.
"At least this looks like a good place to train a Golett." Tray held out the bright red pokeball in his hand. He hesitated for a moment; releasing this Golett meant that he truly became one of the 'Valde Bellum', whatever that means. Did he really want to rebel against the Calies?

"Yes. Yes I do." Tray said firmly as he pressed the button on the pokeball. A bright white ray of light extended out of the opened orb and materialized in a Golett. The Golett looked around once more, but rested it's eyes on Tray. It looked up at him expectantly.
"Before we set out, we need to decide what I'm going to call you. Because it sounds so impersonal when I simply call you Golett." Tray's pokemon tilted his head curiously. "Hmm.. I'm thinking.. Dynamo. What do you think?" The Golett nodded, quite content with the tittle.
"Alright Dynamo. Let us be off. Partner." And with that Tray began walking off. The Golett seemed to pause and contemplate what his new trainer said. 'Dynamo'. 'Partner'? It took a moment for Dynamo to realize he (I'll refer to Dynamo as male to keep it simple) had fallen behind. He quickly dashed to make up for lost distance as the two of them continued up the rocky trail.

============================================

Tray was becoming bushed with all of this climbing. He had been trudging through the rocky landscape for 20 minutes, and his legs were already sore. Tray was not what you would call an athlete, and it became extremely apparent as he trudged along. Dynamo seemed to be having a much easier time navigating the landscape. He had short, stubby legs but the Golett seemed to be at home among rocks and gravel. Tray was in fact having a difficult time keeping pace with Dynamo; he had to ask him to stop several times. Tray was thirsty, but decided against indulging himself in water until he truly needed it. He had iodide tablets, but he might not find any water at all in this terrain. After taking another quick break Tray continued on.

Tray was walking with Dynamo in the lead down a particularly rocky section. Large bits of stone rested all over the ground, creating difficult obstacles to avoid. There were many small round stones in this area, as well as some rather large boulders that also blocked their way. Dynamo took this as a chance to begin showing off his ability by pounding stones and moving them out of the way to clear the path. Tray had to admit, he was impressed with the small pokemon. They made it about halfway through this trench until Tray stepped on a particularly loose stone.

Tray had to reach his long legs around a large round stone in order to continue, but the stone he stepped on did not provide even footing. It almost seemed as if the stone he stepped on began moving by it's own accord. Something pushed Tray's foot away and he fell over, nearly hitting his head on the extremely hard ground. Tray looked up from where he lay among the dangerous stones until an odd stone began rising of it's own accord. The large head-sized rock levitated... then suddenly sprouted arms. Eyes appeared from the craggy crevices, and It glared down at Tray with anger in it's pupils. Cracks in the stone opened up to reveal a mouth, and the Geodude uttered a loud cry of anger before moving towards Tray.

Tray remembered having this feeling of intensity. He remembered his days of fighting his first pokemon, the fear and excitement. But he also remembered the determination he had felt. The rush of battle and the craving for victory.
"Dynamo, use Mud Slap!" Tray cried as he lifted himself off of the ground. The Geodude turned around to see Dynamo, which caught the pokemon by surprise. He did not see the Golett pass by, and the Geodude immediately focused it's attention on Dynamo.

Dynamo hesitated for a moment; this was the first time he was ever commanded to attack by a trainer, but the Geodude was already converging on Dynamo. The Golett brought his powerful fist into the earth and dug it into the rocks and the mud. He then lifted his arm upwards with his strength, sending a mixture of rock and mud towards the Geodude. The Rock Pokemon however, had seen this coming and used a defense curl. The Mud splashed against the pokemon's hard exterior, but he was otherwise unscathed. The Geodude uncurled itself and brought up it's elbow. It immediately used a tackled attack on the Golett, driving it's elbow into the Pokemon's center.

The tackle had a considerable amount of power behind it. Dynamo staggered backward, balancing on one foot before regaining his balance. The Golett stood in a combat ready stance; Dynamo could take more punishment then that.
"Dynamo, use pound!" Dynamo sprung towards the Geodude and unleashed a flurry of open palm strikes. The Geodude once again proceeded to roll into a ball, causing Dynamo's attacks to do minimal damage.
"If we're going to defeat this thing, we need to do something about it's defense curl." Tray mused to himself as Dynamo continued to strike the Rock Pokemon. However, the Geodude suddenly burst out of his curled up state and growled in anger at Dynamo before tackling him once more.

This tackle was much more powerful then the last, and it sent the 220 pound Golett staggering until it collided into one of the stone walls. Dynamo hit the wall with a a loud THUMP before he walked pushed himself off of the rock face and stood at the ready once more. Dynamo was standing strong, but he had scratches all over him from all of the attacks. This Geodude was tough, and obviously had dealt with annoying travelers before. Tray thought back when the Geodude had popped out of it's defense curl; the reason he got the hit was because the element of surprise took Dynamo off his guard.. wait.. that's it!

"Dynamo, approach for your next attack!" Dynamo complied and began running to the Geodude once more. Once again the Geodude used defense curl, a strategy that proved effective two times before. Dynamo closed in on the defensive pokemon, and it did not look as if any of his attacks would be any more effective.

"Now Dynamo, use Astonish!" Dynamo's round form dissolved into a hazy shadow for a brief moment before appearing in front of the Geodude. The Golett gave the Geodude a terrifying glare, and the darkness surround Dynamo enveloped the Geodude's form. The shadow caused it to flinch, bringing him out of his defensive state and open to attack.
"Now Dynamo! Use Mud Slap!" The Geodude was still in shock when Dynamo bring his fist down into the dirt. He flung the globules of mud into the Geodude's unprotected eyes and struck it with a direct hit. The colliding mud knocked the Geodude down, and it caused him to hit the ground with a loud thud.

(I'll continue after someone else posts, this post is sickeningly long.)

Name of Character: Courtney Cox
Age of Character
: 19
Gender
: Female
Appearance
: Courtney is a short girl, only standing about five foot four or so. She has long blonde hair that nearly reaches her back and slightly tanned skin. Her hair is decorated with modestly places black highlights. She rarely ever wears it up, but when she does she has it tied with a green ribbon.

Courtney is fine wearing jeans and a casual shirt (usually with some sort of text or picture on it). When she finds a good opportunity though, she shows off her style to the fullest, wearing clothes that drape beautifully and pinning her hair up. While she isn't the biggest on hair accessories, she is very fond of body ones. She wears two diamond (well, fake diamond) earrings and on each wrist wears a bracelet (one on the right and two on the left). On her right ankle she wears an anklet, though she always seemed to have to take it off when she does anything like running because of it's tendency to move. Courtney also has vibrantly colored toenails, either with greens or some other color, you'll rarely ever see them uncolored. She is most fond of wearing sandals or anything that shows off her toes, it would be essential for her to keep them pretty. To do so, she always carries around a small pack with polish in it.
Region From: Hoenn

History: Since birth, Courtney has been that bubbly sort of girl. She's always been cheerful and you can't look at her without seeing a smile. Her spirits have always been up in the air and always positive. She tries her best not to overwhelm people (she knew what they said about overly happy people), but sometimes the cheer just gets to her. When she was young she would beg to go to any parade or rally, maybe even participate! She loved the extravaganza of things, and still does. When she received her first pokemon, she trained by making every battle or task sort of like a game. It would always get her and her pokemon pumped.

After the takeover of the Acies and the confiscation of her pokemon, Courtney seemed to recede into her own bubble. Without her best friend, she became depressed for the longest time. She didn't smile as much, only did when people asked her what was wrong, and soon was able to put on a smile every time she walked out of her house (though it didn't work, her friends could see it in her eyes! And her actions). Not able to hide her little depression, her friends were able to get her out of it, most of it. She is now happy, just like she had been before. Smiling and cheery and all that whatnot. However the thought of the Acies and her lost pokemon always seems to make that smile falter a little bit. She is always quick to pull it up, though. Putting back on the simple disguise.

Name of Character: Ariana Camille Pavaloni
Age of Character: Nineteen
Gender: Female
Appearance: Lean and wiry with a "skinny tough" look to her. Her size is misleading and makes you think she could be blown over by a good strong gust of wind; in reality she's pure muscle from years of training pokemon, riding, and wrestling around with her older brothers. She's only five foot two but can pose an intimidating stature if she so wishes, with a glare to match the best mother's. Her hair is long and deep brunette with a natural curl that she prefers to straighten a lot of the time. Oftentimes she goes a very bright, white-blonde for a few weeks until her roots start to show. Her eyes are a natural hazel, an even mix of blue, brown, and green. She has a complexion to envy, with porcelain skin that burns rather than tans.
Region From: Kanto
History: Ariana grew up as the youngest in a large household of seven children. All of her older siblings were male, and all of them just loved to pick on, tease, and bully their little sister mercilessly. What might have turned some little girls into weeping, weak, crying babies turned Ari into a rough'n'tough girl, especially once she was old enough to start riding horses. Her mother and father ran a ranch, and had even since before her oldest brother was born – at six years of age she mounted up on her first deadbroke quarter horse and took off at a gallop, suddenly enough to stop both her parents' hearts. But she'd been watching her mom and dad and all her brothers ride for years, and when you've got horse genes, you've got horse genes. She turned out just fine from that little venture, and continued riding for four years, becoming a handy little ranch helper, always at her father's side.

Her brothers had done the same, and while the oldest brother and the fifth and sixth born twins all chose to stay at home, there was a rite of passage within the family that was only optional to take. Her second-, third-, and fourth-oldest brothers all took part in this. At the age of ten, each travelled from Lavender town to Pallet town to pick their pokemon and start their trainers' journey. Each brother travelled, and returned home only rarely to say hi to their family, show off their new pokemon, and battle each other on occasion.

So when Ari turned ten, she did the same. She left Lavender, travelling by train to Pallet town to meet professor Oak and get her first pokemon. She had always been a lover of fire types – a particular fan of the Ponyta and Rapidash her parents bred along with their non-poke-horses – and chose Charmander without a second thought.

She raised him, and he evolved. Her final team, which took her two and a half years to evolve, was Charizard, Electabuzz, Mr. Mime, Gengar, Lapras, and Vaporeon. She battled her way through Victory Road with these six Pokemon, and after a few failed attempts, finally defeated the Elite Four with the same group. She of course had a backup group of Pokemon – they were Aerodactyl, Ninetails, Arcanine, Alakazam, Rapidash (bred from her own parents' group), Dewgong, Jynx, Gyarados, Jolteon, Flareon, Snorlax, and Dragonite.

However, her pokemon days did not last nearly as long as her brothers' – she was one of the first trainers to have her pokemon taken from her, to be sent back home without a companion. She did indeed return, warning her brothers ahead of time of what would happen, though they never believed her until they too were sent back home. She and her siblings spent their time protecting the ranch, guarding the last of the Ponyta and Rapidash breeding stock, until even they were taken and her family was left with just horses.

So she spent her time working the ranch, breeding the horses, but always thought of what it would be like if the world had pokemon again. So when she was presented with that box of pokeballs, her world changed irrevocably…

Kiklion: Sorry, but only Hoenn is available. The other regions have been reserved. And your rp example can be of a previous RP, or something you made up quickly that shows how you'll RP here.

Oh! Sorry about that! I didn't even see Hoenn on the list. Thanks for the heads up.

Courtney Cox: Chpt 1, Pt 1

Courtney shifted the bag on her shoulders, gauging its weight a little. She could only guess what was inside--she would have if she were any good at guessing. Her attention was stuck on the pokeball in her hand. She shifted it with her fingers, looking over its design, feeling its shape... It was almost as if she'd never seen one before. It was almost like a dream. Holding the first pokeball she'd seen in... In years! And while she was with a group of freedom fighters getting ready to head out on some unknown journey. She did not know the destination, she didn't even know the adventure, she only knew that they were doing this for... Well... What could accurately be called the fate of the world. It was a huge weight, one she would have yet to feel. If only she could take her eyes off that ball.

She felt a loud pop!, one that immediately brought memories into her head. Ones of joy and play and battle. They flashed in her mind, just as she looked towards the noise. It was one of the other members of their little group. He was a tall guy with blond hair and thick glasses. She didn't know his name, only now realizing none of them introduced themselves. Courtney didn't remember long at the sight of his new pokemon. It was a big, old looking pokemon. It had a round, blue body and a tear drop head. The eyes glowed, if it even actually had eyes at all. It gave her this weird feel, like she'd gone back into the past and met this old, ancient power. She shuddered a little.

Courtney had never seen this kind of creature before. Well, she had, on TV (Pokemon 101, to be exact), but never in person and up close. She forgot what its name was, Golburt or something. Maybe not even that. She had the slight feeling that its name started with an S. Her slight ignorance made her feel embarrassed even if she didn't say anything. She wouldn't address it until she knew for sure, or had some alternate name for it. The guy who had let out his pokemon was... Overwhelmed with joy, it seemed. After locking eyes with it, he gave it this big hug that made Coutrney smile big. The clear happiness rushing off of him made her feel like the world was slowly going to become right. When they did this... Everyone would be like that. Oo! It made her so giddy inside. She felt like her intestine were giggling.

Courtney waves and yelled a goodbye after the guy who left, even if it didn't really matter and probably didn't mean so much since they didn't know each other, not even by name. He went off towards a plain-like area with hills. There were multiple routes, she could take any, but felt like she should follow wherever the kid went. She didn't know why, just this automatic sense to follow came to her, but she thought about it. He'd gotten far out and her thoughts were making her think differently. It'd be good to get to know each other, but... Maybe they wouldn't like it if she crowded them. That and... Courtney looked down at the pokeball in her hand. That... And she wanted to get to know this mystery too. She thought about letting it out, just to see it, but she decided against it quickly. That would ruin the excitement, the mystery of who it was. She wanted to make this personal, a pleasure just between her and her mystery pokemon. If she let it out here... She didn't know. Something was telling her that would ruin it.

Courtney lifted her gaze, looking out on all the paths. So many to choose, it seemed! All of them different and mysterious in their own ways. A plain, a jungle, a desert, a... An everything. She looked towards the sixth route. It was clouded, wind whipping up everywhere, it seemed. It was hard to see through the thickness. There was no telling what could have been down there. It was a mystery, just like the ball, just like their journey. The apparent symbolism seemed to get to Courtney. She smiled. She'd go this way. The path with the shells seemed inviting. A quick way to get water, maybe. She did like water. But... Eh. She took a bath this morning. She may do well yet. The only problem with this was that her hair would probably get dirty (uh, probably? Definitely) and she may get something in her eyes. The wind didn't look like it was blowing hard, though. Just occasional wisps that clouded vision. She'd make it.

Nodding towards it, as if making an agreement with the route, she was chosen. She looked back at the remaining members and smiled.

"I think I'm going down this way," she said, pointing in the direction. "Ya'll can come if you like, but if you don't, good luck!" Courtney looked towards Rayne then. "And thank you, Miss Rayne." She nodded to her. "For making this happen." Straight after she bolted off, her excitement making her run, rather than walk to her next area. Walking took way to long. Her anklet clinked at it moved up and down with her steps and her sandals clicked along with it. They didn't normally do that popping thing, just when she ran--thank the heavens. Her bracelets also jangled, moving all around on her wrists like they were trying to escape.

Courtney was close when she suddenly remembered. She looked back, the other members of their new team behind her now. "I'm Courtney, by the way!" She yelled back, straining her vocal cords to make sure they got the message. She didn't know if they could hear her or not. She hoped they did. She wished she remembered to say something before she left. Courtney looked back ahead, smile playing on her face. Oh, well. There was always the next meeting.

Curious: The reserved spaces only have one more day to fill out their applications before the regions are back up. Then you can fill out applications. Hoenn was already taken though. :)

Kiklion: Good post! Here's the information for your next few posts.

Chapter One: Welcome to Island Dauoalogn
Post 2-5

Route 6:
It's a desert, and you quickly release it as you step into the whipping sands and winds. It's hard to make left from right anymore, but you continue on. You think this may not have been the best route to take. However, as you think you may be lost, the winds calm down and you are able to see for just a few mere minutes and that helps guide your way. You're not sure what, you supposed, but something great.

The Pokemon you can find in this location are:
