  • Final Update for Fire Red Fire run:

    Spoiler:

    Team:
    Spoiler:

So, I have to say this was really fun and challenge at some points. Zar was really best Pokemon in this challenge. He took down Lance's and Green's teams alone...
I think that Gabi was weakest, maybe because I couldn't train her so much as others...
Also, here is another sign up:

    Username: Janp
    Type: Water
    Challenge: Single
    Game(s): Fire Red

    Anyway...

    Username: GoldenRayquaza
    Type: Flying
    Challenge: Ultimate
Games: R, G, E, Pt, Blaze B2 (if allowed. if not, just B2)

And my planned team on Platinum (im doing Platinum first), just for fun.

    Staraptor

  • Quick update - Electric/SS

The best way to not fall asleep in class is to... update? Eh. I've got all 8 badges now, just about to go hit the Whirl Islands and knock Lugia out of the air (for what must be the 10th time now). Defeating Claire was easy but the Kimono girls were hard. Explain that logic!

    Current team:
    Magneton Lv. 43
    Lanturn Lv. 43

  • Sigh...
I'm having more computer problems. So I'm going to have to put my Platinum run on a short hiatus until I can get the part replaced that needs to be replaced. It'll probably take about a week.

The last thing I've done on it is defeat Crasher Wake, which was really challenging for me. I had to do a lot of grinding... Ugh. And then I chased the Galactic grunt back to Lake Valor and talked to Cynthia. Then headed to Celestic Town where I faced Cyrus for the first time (and fangirled way more than I probably should have because he's my favorite villain).

Can't update on my team since I can't access the rom. I did catch a Hippopotas and nicknamed it Hippy.

I'm going to go ahead and get started on my White 2 run since I don't have a save file on my cartridge yet. At least I know that's not going to fry up on me.

It's cool that you can record your challenge, but please include more written info in your posts. I don't always have time to sort through videos to find out how many badges you've earned. It's also a good idea to put videos in spoilers so they don't hamper people with lesser computers and connections.

Ultimate Steel Monotype Challenge: White Version 2
    4/8

I seem to be a tad bit underleveled which is weird since I only have 4 team members and one of them is a trade in (Metang was from an event back in February where players were allowed to trade or hack one Pokemon in if they posted a certain phrase, this does not reflect the current rules in any way). A lot of trainers were challenging as a result, but I managed pretty well. Desert Resort was a pain due to all the Ground types. Elesa was somewhat problematic because Electric mons resist Steel for WHATEVER REASON! But I pressed through with my Drilbur, Yoko.

No problem! I'm new so apologies for my shortcomings. I updated the video and put it in a spoiler :)

I have 4 badges right now and am currently in Saffron City :)

  • Quick update - Electric/SS

Defeated the Elite Four for all it's worth. Wasn't too hard, especially with my entire team being bulky or resistant to certain attacks. Defeated Lt. Surge without difficulty thanks to Ampharos with uhhh... that... bug attack that I've forgotten. Tried to fight Sabrina but got pounded to a pulp so skipping her for now. Tried to defeat the guy who gives you the nugget just past Nugget Bridge but paralyzed Lanturn pretty much screwed me over. Went over to Erika's gym to see how that would go but the trainers are too hard for now. What the crud? Power plant is fixed so I'll go and train on Cycling Road and that route south of Lavender Town. The sad thing is... I'm overleveled.

    Current team:
    Lanturn Lv. 53
    Ampharos Lv. 53
    Magneton Lv. 53
    Jolteon Lv. 43

    Edit: Top post again, HAH

Hey all got another update for my Soul Silver Poison run. I succeeded in kicking Team Rocket out of the Radio Tower. Made exceptionally short work of my Rival. Especially my Weezing against his Meganium. Then I made my way back to Mahogany Town. I then defeated all the trainers on my way to the Ice Cavern. Remembering that I'd need Strength to pass I tried to use it on my team and only Gengar could learn it. So instead of wasting it on a pokémon that would not really benefit I decided to catch an HM Slave Lickitung. I then taught it Strength (along with Whirlpool and Rock Smash while I was at it.) I then brought my new HM slave with me through the Ice Cavern. Upon reaching the other side I put my Lickitung back in the PC and defeated the Jr. Trainers in Clair's Gym. This put my team up to lvl 40 and I then realized I'd need some Ice and Electric moves so I went into the Ice Cavern and caught a Delibird to teach Fly to(Hate Fly as an attack so I wasn't going to cripple my Crobat) and had Delibird fly me to Goldenrod. I then bought and taught Thunder to Gengar, Blizzard to Qwilfish, and Fire Blast to Weezing(don't really need it for Clair but figured it would help against Koga's Forretress later). I then flew back and began the battle with Clair. Had Gengar start the battle against Gyarados. Thunder got a crit and Gyarados went down. Then came Dragonair. I sent out Qwilfish and used Blizzard but Thunder Wave hit her first. Didn't KO the Dragonair first shot so I used it again and it went down the second time although Qwilfish was weak from the Dragon Pulse. Knowing Qwilfish couldn't take the second Dragonair I switched to Crobat. Crobat didn't defeat Dragonair but did leave it badly poisoned and weakened so I had Weezing finish it with a Sludge attack. Then against Kingdra I had Gloom use Stun Spore followed by Mega Drains. Didn't defeat it but weakened it enough for Venomoth's Psybeam to beat it. I then took the challenge in the cave passed with flying colors. I am now currently saving up athlete points for a Leaf Stone so I can evolve Gloom into Vileplume once it hits 47th level and learns Giga Drain.
My Current Team is : lvl 40 Crobat, lvl 41 Gengar, lvl 41 Gloom, lvl 40 Venomoth, lvl 40 Weezing, and lvl 40 Qwilfish
