Anime/Manga What Did You Actually Pick Up?

I never planned on it but Made in Abyss has been a solid pick while it was airing. Got curious as to why it was popular on /r/anime and now that I have seen the 2 episodes I think I really like it.

I've also caught up on New Game! so I'm following the second season.

Apart from Symphoo, Tenshi no 3P is obvious AOTS.

In the end I couldn't be bothered to pick up anything...nothing really looked appealing enough, upon further examination.

Who's got Made in Abyss streaming rights?

what in the hell is Tenshi no 3P?

Legit, nothing new grabbed me and I only picked up Aho Girl on a whim because of a single /r/anime thread.

New Game S2 - Definitely loving it. The first episode's subs were horrendous and that subber should quit subbing for life, but today's subbed episode was immensely better.

Hajimete no Gal - I really want to love it, but the first episode was really generic. I don't like anime that have that generic trio of friends with the MC that dogs him on to doing crazy things. Hopefully tomorrow's episode will be better.

Teekyuu 9 - Just your average Teekyuu episode.

Made in Abyss - Picked it up this morning, only watched the first episode. I might drop it. It's too similar to LWA, which I also dropped after episode 8 or 9 in the winter.

My brother said some really great things about Kakegurui, might pick that up.

These are the ones I'm following -

Kakegurui - Yandere girls and gambling. Also, girls are hot. That's all I need to know.
Ballroom e Youkoso - Same studio as Haikyuu and a pretty good first 3 eps. Definitely very much into it.
Hajimete no Gal - read source material.
Made in The Abyss - gonna watch this because it looks interesting
Fate Apocrypha - its fate, so wynaut

Definitely can't keep up with them all at once but i'll try to. The first two are the most high priority ones which I'll definitely watch as soon as they're out.

ironic how they're the ones that netflix crippled lol

I've been watching a few:

Aho Girl - Short-form really works well for this one
Hajimete no Gal - Feels generic
Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni.
Kakegurui - Interesting and unique plot. Some of the faces actually haunt me, though
Koi to Uso - Feels like Kuzu no Honkai
Netsuzou TRap
New Game!! - Cute office grils
Tsurezure Children - Pretty cute stories
Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e - Interesting and gives off an Oregairu feel

So far I have....

18if: It looks pretty but is sort of one of those shows thats all deep and I probably won't fully get lol
Aho Girl
Boku no Hero Academia 2
Clione no Akari: honestly might drop this its kinda boring
Gamers!: also not great and on to-drop list
Koi to Uso
New Game! 2
Re:Creators
Sakura Quest
Sakurads Reset
Tsurezure Children
Youkoso Jitsuryoku ... etc

Maybe Battle Girl High School? Seemed generic but idk. Sometimes I enjoy mindless fighting. Fate/apocrypha maybe but honestly didn't love the other fate series.

I like a few series this season but I'm not sure if there are any amazing ones besides for the super famous ones like Boku no Hero, etc. Definitely try out Koi to Uso if you liked Kuzu no Honkai since the art is the same and the premise is similar-ish (boys and girls fall in love with people they aren't supposed to with a self-insert MC). Tsurezure Children is REALLY cute if you like romance anime. It's slice of life with different characters with lots of variety. Youkoso Jitsuryoku could be interesting but it feels kinda slow now and it could go in any direction so idk maybe wait. New Game 2 is cute as expected from the first so worth continuting. If stuff from last season counts, definitely Boku no Hero and Re:Creators.

Apocrypha, Princess Principal, and I'm starting with S1 of New Game! so technically I picked that up too. There's still some anime I wanna give a try (idk when tho).

  • Symphogear AXZ
  • Centaur's Worries
  • Restaurant to Another World
  • New Game! S2
  • Gamers!

And of course Sakura Quest from last season. I've been looking forward to Symphogear and Centaur's Worries the most; I really enjoyed watching Sympho's first 3 seasons back in May, while I'm very familiar with the latter's manga.
