  • (current active players:

    MysticalNinetales
    Evily)

Rated E10+ (fantasy stage violence--meaning any weaponry is just a prop, and characters are not in any real danger even though a lot of the shows involve fight scenes and stage archery)

    The Premise:

In Unova (and elsewhere) Pokémon Musicals are some of the hottest entertainment, a spectacle where human and Pokémon perform together to tell some of the world's best known fairy tales and adventure stories, as well as lesser known fairy tales and stories inspired by fairy tales.

Those that have traveled to Unova to see the musical describe it as "the show of all shows." In addition to music, dancing, and acting, many musicals feature martial arts, acrobatics, stage combat and stage archery, and even live Pokemon (even if they don't play an active role in the show).

To participate in the Musicals, one signs up to audition at a theater, then auditions to determine what kinds of roles they are suited for, as well as chemistry with others. Groups of people can audition together, and then have their role types determined separately.

Role types only have to be determined once--the information is then shared among the other theaters in the world. A performer is not squarely set within their determined role type--they may be asked to play roles outside their role type; if the Musical requires it.

Performers (participants in the Musical Challenge) earn Star Pins for a Spotlight Button if they do well in a performance--those that earn a Star Pin in every theater in a region (which can be anywhere from eight to sixteen depending on the region) go on to perform in the Grand Musical or the Grand Revue (depending on which version of the challenge you're on) during the Pokémon League.

For the most part, boys, girls, and Pokemon share the stage together in the Musical. But there is a girls only (and those that identify as female) subset of the Musical called the Pokemon Revue, which is a separate challenge that follows the same rules as the Musical.

With the growing popularity of the Musical (and its sister challenge the Revue), people in other regions have requested, begged and pleaded for the musical to come to other regions. This year, Champion Lance has announced that Kanto will be the first region outside Unova to receive the Pokemon Musical and the Pokemon Revue as journey options, for those trainers that don't want to try for Badges or Ribbons.

You play the role of an aspiring performer setting out on Kanto's inaugural Musical Challenge--What ups and downs await you on your road to superstardom? Will you make friends, or bitter enemies? Will you become one of the musical's many stars, or will you be relegated to MyTube videos?

What to Expect on this Adventure:

The RP is broken up into episodes--each episode is a different show you will be performing (so Pallet Town is one episode, Viridian City is an episode, and so on) There are sixteen possible theaters in Kanto you can perform in, and you need at least eight Star Pins to join the Grand Musical/Grand Revue.

Most of the time, an episode will play out in a standard fashion--you arrive in a location, go to the theater and learn what show you will be performing there. Auditions will take place offscreen, but the players will be given roles based on what their strongest role type is (determined at the start of the challenge)

While I have all the scripts for the show, I will be feeding the players their lines so the characters know what they are (and how the songs go)

There will typically be three rehearsals for a show, and then you perform it. Those that perform their roles the best get Star Pins.

You are more likely to get Star Pins if:

--you play the best known role
--you say the show's best known line
    --you do well singing
--you pull off a dance, fight scene or act very well
    --You satisfy a Patron Challenge

While most performances are straightfoward enough, you may get a Patron Challenge--the Gym Leaders and some other prominent characters count as Patrons, and they may ask you do something specific during the show (so for example, Brock may challenge you to play an instrument during the show during the Pewter City episode). If you satisfy the Patron Challenge, that goes towards your Star Pin score.

In between parts of a performance and on the road, you are free to explore town or explore the area--you may find Pokemon to catch or unlock a sidequest.

Once an episode ends, Star Pins will be awarded, and a leaderboard will be posted. Those that get at least eight Star Pins go on to the Grand Musical/Grand Revue during the Indigo League, where Lance is your Patron. His challenge is highly challenging, but worth your while.

Those that do well are crowned Grand Performers--a title they hold for life.

    Lennon Blacklocke
    Age: 16

Physical Appearance: Lennon is quite tall, standing at an impressive 6'0. He is thin but has broad shoulders and a pale, milky white complexion. His hair is a bright fiery red and it is lengthy, as it trails down his back. He normally leaves it down but throws it in a bun or ponytail when it gets in his way. His eyes are a stunning shade of amber, but can change colour depending on the lighting. Lennon has high cheekbones and a sharp jawline and is strikingly handsome. In terms of clothing, Lennon is always dressed to the nines. He has expensive tastes and prefers solid colours to distracting patterns. He often wears monochromatic outfits or anything that will enhance his performances. Moreover, he considers fashion to be incredibly important and attributes success with dressing well, among other things. His favourite colour is black and he is often seen wearing a black button up shirt with slim-fitting dress pants and a pair of sleek, midnight black loafers.

Personality: Lennon is intellectually gifted. He is witty, cunning, and has excelled in academia for the entirety of his life. He is conscious of his own intelligence as well, which has caused him to develop quite a gargantuan ego. Lennon can be a haughty individual at times, unapologetically so. Therefore, humility is by no means his strongest trait. Lennon's charisma and vibrant personality on stage doesn't always transfer to real life interactions, as his own pomposity can be stifling. Underneath Lennon's bravado lies a passionate heart. Lennon loves his family and the select few close to him very deeply and will do whatever it takes to protect the people he loves. Lennon prides himself in his academic achievements, as well as his accomplishments in music and is a very driven and career oriented person. He pushes himself to be the best, and sees failure as unacceptable. Due to his sheer determination and restless work ethic, Lennon may cause his own mental and physical wellbeing to suffer, as he will stay up all hours of the night working on musical pieces or his vocal ability and will not stop until he has perfected these skills. Furthermore, he can become detached from reality when he's focused on his craft, because he becomes so focused on the objective that he neglects and disregards everything around him.

History: Lennon comes from a long line of musicians, his great grandfather being one of the first, as he was a famous composer. Lennon's father, John Blacklocke, was an aspiring actor who performed in a plethora of pokemon musicals and Annelise Blacklocke, Lennon's mother, was a famed pianist and piano instructor. The two met when at a theatre performance of John's. Annelise was playing the piano for one of John's musicals and he was enamoured by her unique playing style and the pair were married the same year, before having two beautiful children, Lennon, and his older sister, Lyrica. Lennon's family was very affluent which meant that Lennon lived a life of comfort and luxury. Early on, Lennon was thought to be a gifted child, a prodigy even. His mother hired him tutors and trained him on instruments such as the piano. Lennon had to fulfill his parent's high expectations and it was required of him to excel at multiple subjects, although music became Lennon's true passion. Similar expectations were placed upon Lyrica, although, she wasn't thought of to be as gifted as Lennon, and therefore he received the spotlight. Lyrica, who was jealous of the immense attention that her brother was receiving due to his excellence, pushed herself and began doing musicals as a means of attracting her parents' attention. This proved to be very successful, as she instantly became a sensation and was praised for her immaculate acting and performance capabilities. Lennon, who wanted to be a multi-faceted performer, sought to perform in a musical with his pokemon. Thus, when he learned that the Musical Challenge would be coming to Kanto, he saw an opportunity and immediately departed from his hometown of Castellia, with the support of his sister.

    Pokemon:

    Opera (Female)

Talents: Lennon is a musician. He plays the piano, harp, cello, and violin, and is a professionally trained singer. He is from a long line of musicians who immensely influenced his career path. Lennon has also recently taken a gabble in acting. Other than the arts, Lennon is a brilliant student who excelled in all subjects, although mathematics was his favourite.

  • Here's my SU, hope I made it in time and that its good!

    Asuna Matsumoto

    Age: 15 Gender: Female

    picture.php

Character's physical appearance: Asuna has long blonde hair that ends at her waist, her eyes are bright blue and her skin is fair skinned. She has an athletic body and stands at a height of 5'1", her 'assets' are mixed, she has curves, but her bust and chest are a bit smaller than others her age.
Her hair is in between straight and wavy with a couple strands on her left are made into a small braid tied by a pink ribbon, her bangs framing her face and fringes covering her forehead & eyebrows, slipping in between her eyes. She wears a golden pendant with an emerald green stone embedded in it.
Her clothing style is mixed, but she tends to like wearing bright colors, especially green, her favorite color.
Character's personality: Asuna is a kind and gentle soul, she loves to help out people whenever she can, but at the cost, her self-sacrificing kindness causes her to ignore her needs in return.
After what occurred in her past, she bottles up her negative feelings and only allows her pokemon and trusted allies to see her weakened state. To hide her negativity, she tends to be cheerful and smiles on.
Everywhere she goes, compassion is shown to people and pokemon. Even through her disability, she is a hard worker and is dedicated to her task, refusing to give up, her stubbornness has caused problems for her in the past
Coming from a high-class family, Asuna was raised and taught to be intellectual and read a lot of books. Her mind was sharpened and absorbed everything she was taught.
Soft-spoken and formal, that's how she was raised, although sometimes, she tends to be blunt unintentionally.
She is protective of people and pokemon she is close to, those she sees as part of "her world".
Character's known history: Asuna was born into a high-class family with four siblings. She is the youngest and doesn't get along with two of her siblings, or more like they don't like her and she endures it. Her two older sisters hate her because of the attention their oldest brother gives her, who is around her a lot because of her fragile body being born weaker than the rest, so she gets sick easily. Her parents aren't around most of the time, the father is out traveling different regions for his job and the mother is a musician.
Her father would often send his children pokemon from whatever region is in, labeling each pokeball with names of each sibling.

    Character's Pokémon:
    Brionne (Female) - Ariel
    Ability: Liquid Voice
Moveset: Sing, Disarming Voice, Acrobatics, Aqua Ring
    Espeon (Female) - Silva
    Ability: Magic Bounce
Moveset: Psychic, Shadow Ball, Dazzling Gleam, Swift
    Boltund (Male) - Bolt
    Ability: Strong Jaw
Moveset: Thunderbolt, Crunch, Electro Ball, Play Rough
    Altaria (Male) - Aru
    Ability: Natural Care
Moveset: Sing, Ice Beam, Dragon Pulse, Hyper Voice
    Meganium (Female) - Mira

Moveset: Vine Whip, Heal Pulse, Ancient Power, Energy Ball
    Charizard (Male) - Cynder
    Ability: Blaze
Moveset: Flamethrower, Solar Beam, Power-Up Punch, Dragon Pulse

Character's talents: Asuna can sing, she's been singing since she was little, but has never sung on stage or in front of others. Another talent is playing the flute, she can adapt to any music as long as she gets time to practice it. She has a good set of lungs so she's able to play/sing for a good while. She can also play a whistle on a blade of grass, but tends to keep that to herself and her pokemon.
