Seeds of Tomorrow
"Welcome to Camp Floaroma, located just on the outskirts of peaceful Floaroma Town overlooking the beautiful Floaroma Meadow.

It is here among this gorgeous scenery that, like the flowers surrounding you, you will have a chance to grow, overcoming the obstacles of your past that would otherwise keep you down.

Over the next few months, you will have access to our various facilities and be involved in our Social Rehabilitation Program. You will be provided with education tailored to your needs, regular therapy and fun social programmes that will, of course, culminate in you, along with your assigned group, undertaking your very own Pokemon journey alongside a carefully selected starter Pokemon."
-Dr Cygnus Hickory

That was three months ago, when you received your acceptance letter and were entered into Camp Floaroma, a special programme designed to help troubled youths come to terms with their pasts and begin looking forward to the future.

Along with the other members of your assigned group, allocated the fun little moniker "Team Fruit Punch", you've been through a difficult several months. It's been a hard road full of uncomfortable speeches, dorky group activities and excruciating therapy sessions, but, a few weeks ago, you of Team Fruit Punch finally received your very own starters and were signed off to begin your journey together.

This is where our story begins, as you and the rest of Team Fruit Punch take your first steps out of the camp and back into the world beyond. You may have earned permission to begin your journey, but you still have a long way to go.

The Roleplay

Seeds of Tomorrow is the spiritual successor to Cracks: A Sinnoh Story. It is an extremely character-driven, heavy sandbox roleplay based off of the origin story the cast of Cracks created for themselves at the onset of the RP, before real life reared its ugly head and brought about its untimely death.

Seeds is designed for a group of 3-4 players, the idea being that a smaller group will allow us to really explore each character individually and as a group. As such, it is essential that the people joining can guarantee that they will be able to reliably participate both in RPing and in OOC planning. I'm not setting a mandatory deadline on when posts will be due, because SoT will certainly be very JP heavy, but there is a soft goal of a post per week.

The upside to this, is that you have a lot of freedom within the RP. There is no set route or end goal. You'll plan your destinations as you go and I'll build the story around the path you take and the actions you make. The only thing set in stone is your starting point.

Starter Selection

Unlike most journey RPs, your character doesn't begin with a selection of starters to choose from, or have free reign to start with anything. Rather, staff at Camp Floaroma have been carefully evaluating you during your time there and have carefully selected a starter for you that they believe is suited to your journey and/or recovery process in some way.

In keeping with this, you as the player will also not be choosing your own starter. As one of the perks of not participating, instead I will be taking on the role of the camp staff here and will be determining what starter you begin with based on your SU.

Noticeboards

Every Pokemon Centre comes equipped with a noticeboard. These are regularly updated with various advertisements, job opportunities and battle requests. Essentially this is an optional mission/prompt system. There is no requirement to ever take a single pathway from those presented in mission board posts. Similarly, there is also no actual money system as an RP mechanic. Consider though, that even if you never actively RP anything from the noticeboards, your characters could have been doing so "off-screen" to pay for supplies and the like.

Scale

Sinnoh has been scaled up from the games to feel more like a world. Towns and cities are no longer a quick stroll away from each other and it can take hours or even days to get from one place to another IC. That being said, while I want to see you playing out some of this time between destinations, I don't expect you to come up with something interesting for each day between point A and point B. We can skip past some of the travel and just assume it took place. The only rule here is that nothing significant can occur "off-screen" - no major character moments, catches evolutions etc.

Moves, Evolution and Captures

While you don't have any control over what you get for your starter, you have total control of the rest. You can have a Pokemon learn a new move or evolve at any time, or add a new Pokemon to your party whenever you decide to capture one. Just make sure you get me to sign off on it first so I can keep a handle on the pacing.

Similarly, I will not be posting a list of the available Pokemon in each location. What you encounter is at your discretion, just make sure it makes sense for it to be there. There's bound to be a reasonably wide distribution of types and the like in a given area, but I don't think there's going to be a lot of Water or Grass types in Stark Mountain or Fire types on the ocean. Similarly, there are obviously no Alolan or Galarian forms naturally present in Sinnoh. No gen 8 mon are available to you either until after the games have come out and their information is readily available online.

Rules

1. All RPT and PC rules apply.
2. This RP has an M rating. Embrace it but don't abuse it. We're not here for a 100% edge fest at every moment.
3. As mentioned earlier, it is absolutely essential that if you're joining this, you really are able to commit. This is meant to be tight-knit and character driven and that doesn't work if someone randomly disappears for two months without saying anything.
4. Communication OOC is also very important. Both with me and each other.
5. Have fun or I'll remove your skeleton via your ear canal.

"I... I c-challenge you to a b-battle... If you don't mind, that is... If you're not too busy..."

Maria Cosgrove / Female / 17 Years Old

XE3icev.png

Appearance

Maria sports a somewhat thin body build. The girl is unusually tall for her age, standing at a height of 5'11". Maria has long, flowing, platinum-blonde hair that easily reaches down past her knees. She usually keeps her hair styled into two twin-tails, but even then they still manage to be quite long. The girl also sports deep, amber-brown eyes. Maria sports a very pale skin complexion. This is partially on account of the girl spending a vast majority of her time indoors and the other on account of her somewhat frail and sickly childhood.

In terms of clothing, Maria generally prefers to wear clothes that are somewhat loose and baggy. This includes tank-tops and t-shirts that are often so long that she tends to wear them as dresses of sorts. Maria offsets these tops by usually wearing a pair of black leggings underneath. In terms of footwear, Maria likes to wear boots, seeing them as a good mix of practical and comfort, especially now that she is setting off on a journey across the Kanto region. She completes her outfits by almost always wearing a durable, purple jacket that is somewhat too large for her, despite her tall frame. She is known to wear this jacket even into the early summer. Whether or not this is due to her being a tad cold natured or not, Maria won't say. Now that she is an official trainer, Maria carries a backpack full of various supplies.

Personality

A shy and extremely timid girl, Maria is somewhat of an oddity, especially considering her rather impressive stature. She is one who always tries to think things through, wanting to make sure that she picks an option that would have the least negative impact to herself and those around her. Because of this, Maria can be a bit indecisive at times which often leads to the girl wanting others to try and make a choice for her. Maria is a girl who's ultimate issue is that she lacks confidence in herself. She is quick to blame herself should something go wrong and at times finds herself wondering if she is a mere hindrance to her friends should they experience something going wrong as well.

Maria is generally one who likes to keep to herself in most situations. She finds interacting with others that she doesn't know well to be very uncomfortable. As a result, this has made it very difficult for her to make friends with those around her. For the few that she has managed to secure however, Maria holds them very dear and would do anything they asked of her if it could help them out in someway. She has an extreme weakness when it comes to anything she happens to find cute, often leaving the tall blonde girl incapable of moving or even thinking of her own volition. Of all things she finds cute however, her biggest target of adoration is in fact Pokémon. Maria manages to find some sort of charm in literally every creature she sees, be it the popular Pikachu to the foul-smelling Skuntank. Maria adores the creatures so much that she often makes them the subject of her sketches, a hobby she developed in order to help her calm down when she begins to become quite anxious as well as a means to keep herself entertained during her constant illnesses as a child.

History

Maria was born and raised in Veilstone City. She is an only child, with her father working as a higher up at the Pokétech company and her mother as a nurse in the city's Pokémon Center. Always a frail and quiet child, the girl had a difficult time fitting in with those her age. Even during her younger years, Maria would often prefer to keep to herself instead of heavily interacting with others her own age. While her parents were often concerned with this type of personality, they mainly assumed it was merely a phase and that their daughter would eventually grow out of it with time. It was nothing they felt too concerned about for the time being.

Around the time Maria turned 10 years old, the girl began to become very sick quite often. Her life seemed to become a routine of constant trips to the doctor which would naturally result in her spending multiple days in the hospital. Due to these developments, Maria's interactions with those her own age began to decline even further than her shy and timid nature normally resulted in. In fact as the girl grew older, she began to become somewhat of a recluse. Even when she wasn't spending time in a hospital room, Maria began to spend all her time indoors, as if she was absolutely terrified of people around her. Her parents began to become quite concerned with her hermit-like lifestyle, trying to do everything in their power to try and help their child overcome this rather strange aversion to public life that she seemed to develop. However despite their best attempts, the girl seemed to hide herself away more and more. They tried various local therapists, after-school programs, and more. Nothing seemed to work, however.

Thankfully, life seemed to turn around when they heard about Camp Floaroma. Maria's father looked into the facility, hearing great things about their work with youths who suffered from various issues, whether they be behavioral, physical, or mental. Seeing this as a last opportunity to help his daughter, he was quick to get in contact with the camp and enroll Maria to get her the help she so desperately needed. The camp agreed and much to her dismay, Maria was shipped off to Camp Floaroma to help her overcome her issues.

This is a very interesting idea for an RP. I know there hasn't recently, but it would be awesome to try a journey RP in Sinnoh once more, as the last one was a few years ago and didn't get very far before it fell apart.

I know I haven't RPed in a while, but I really have wanted to RP again on here. That being said, I might make an SU. Not completely sure yet though. I do like how the group is going to be small.

Done~! Playing a little bit with fire though

68747470733a2f2f73332e616d617a6f6e6177732e636f6d2f776174747061642d6d656469612d736572766963652f53746f7279496d6167652f735363515164786872724a3370673d3d2d3437323730353830342e313466323261393433663533336330633533363537363239313539352e6a7067
Name: Melody Farell / Raeliana Farell
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Conditions: Inferiority complex / DID-MPD / PTSD

Appearance: Reaching the height of 5'4, Melody is quite the petite lady as she doesn't weight a lot and is quite thin. Her hair is brown and somewhat curly reaching her lower back. She's originally a blonde and you can see that with the unusual light blue eyes she has that would usually fit a blonde girl well, making her skin paler than it really is in combination with her brown locks. Melody has two personalities but the one out most likes wearing fashionable clothes which are usually consisting of a dark red, turtle neck sweater with dark brown jeans and a black belt. She often wears her expensive black boots, white scarf and black beret with the rest of her outfit. Depending on the the weather she sometimes wears a dark brown sleeveless jacket as well. Her more insecure and true personality is content with normal jeans, sneakers and an oversized t-shirt and her hair in a messy bun if the occasion allows it, which is... any occasion once she's out.

Personality: Certain events in Melody's earlier life caused her to develop Dissociative identity disorder, DID or MPD for short and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Because of this, Melody has two distinctive personalities that would generally be seen as the complete opposite of each other but do have some identical traits. The personality called "Melody" is the one that's out most often. She's snobby, snarky but in general a much stronger female than her counterpart is. She wouldn't go out of her way to help others if it causes any form of backfire as Melody much more prefers to save herself and her outfit. That doesn't mean she won't help anyone at all, if she considers you an "acquaintance", she will try a little bit harder to help you out as she still feels a bit guilty if she doesn't. If she appears to be in trouble herself, Melody will do anything to save herself even if this causes a negative impact on someone else despite the guilt she might feel. This is part of her survival instinct she has learned to develop when she was younger.

Though this outer appearance can be a little tough to deal with, Melody also has some more refined qualities to her personality. She's kind towards people she knows although her sarcastic trait is something you'll need to look past. Melody is absolutely not stupid or dumb but can be a bit lazy at times. Though lazy, she absolutely adores making small plushies and singing and will spend her time doing one of these two things. She was gifted with a beautiful voice but not a lot of people have heard her sing. Melody retains some of the insecure features regarding her voice and the way she looks but "Melody" is a little bit better at hiding it and comes across as a confident young woman.

Melody was created by "Raeliana" as a way to deal with the abuse she has dealt with since childhood. Raeliana is this girl's true personality and much more withdrawn than Melody is and also usually seems like all the energy was sucked out of her. She's very insecure about everything she is, everything she does and together with her PTSD it caused disturbance in her normal daily life and was one of the reasons she ended up at Camp Floaroma as her inferiority complex had caused Anorexia. Since Raeliana doesn't keep any of the memories she has as "Melody", it was hard for her to deal with at first. After being treated she came to terms with her "other self" and calls upon her whenever she feels like she can't deal with the world anymore for a while. Raeliana doesn't care much for fashion and prefers an attire that hides her figure. Raeliana has the same hobbies as "Melody" except that Raeliana likes to reads books as well.

Both Melody and Raeliana have a notebook with them at all times in which they write letters towards each other. Especially Melody was taught at Camp Floaroma to write down her adventures so that Raeliana would be at peace and could read what happened and take over from where Melody left of. Something peculiar about their condition is that Melody does keep her memories as Raeliana. Both personalities also have issues with calling someone a "friend" as both feel like they haven't had any before and people would much rather keep their distance.

When Raeliana is out and her PTSD is triggered, Melody will come out and take over immediately. Things that trigger her PTSD are area's she remembers and has awful memories of, male body contact and whenever she's reminded of her childhood abuse. She hates certain songs and movies she knows her aggressor(s) liked. Female body contact is okay to a certain level.

History
Raeliana grew up in the city with her mother and a younger brother in a small apartment. Her father was not in the picture as he had left them because of the drinking habit of her mother. Her mother would occasionally bring someone new home she would have a short relationship with. Her mother's relationships were usually older men with either the same drinking habit as herself or some other quality which made them unable to settle down before. They had all one thing in common: They all took interest in Raeliana's young body.

Raeliana has suffered from abuse since she was 8 from men her mother brought home. School wasn't much better as Raeliana was a very quiet student and easy to pick on. The bullying at school and her home situation caused her to develop a major inferiority complex. When she reached the age of 10, her mother finally had seemed to settle down with someone new, although he would turn out to be Raeliana's worst nightmare.

Her nightmare went on for 3 long years. Melody was created by Raeliana as a way to deal with the abuse as Melody was much better at that and much stronger. Raeliana got a little better at handling the abuse thanks to Melody but the creation of a second personality also brought it's problems along. Raeliana had also developed Anorexia as she was occasionally told that she was getting fat. This nightmare continued for another 2 years until Raeliana's inferiority complex and Anorexia were threatening her life. School had called someone on the household and both Raeliana and her little brother were taken away for treatment. Raeliana was taken to Camp Floaroma and hasn't seen her little brother since.

Raeliana was treated well at Camp Floaroma and learned to deal with PTSD, Melody and her inferiority complex. She was healed from her Anorexia although she's a little prone to falling back sometimes. She's been living a better life since she came to Camp Floaroma and hasn't had contact with her mother since she was taken away. The people at Camp Floaroma treated her well enough to be able to go on her own journey now to possibly grow stronger.

"I aint the type to let down those who put their trust in me"

Logan

128701b8c02562a484040ebad6decb4d9b7bf73cv2_00.jpg

17 // Male // 5'7" // Athletic

Personality
A sensitive soul who does his absolute best to keep those around him happy. Logan can't stand to see a sad face or to have to plod through any kind of social tension, so he keeps an armour of light-heartedness on him everywhere he goes. Everything can be made into a joke, and to Logan that's usually the solution. His world view is strikingly black and white: happy is good, sad is bad, the strong are leaders, the weak are followers - rarely is there any kind of in between. Growing up in poverty, he tends to view those in power as 'bad guys', simply because of their status. He carries his disdain for the wealthy like a Robin Hood esque vendetta. Those who overlook the less fortunate, are just as bad to him as those who would kick or ridicule them.

Erratic and impulsive in nature, Logan is a true live-wire in almost every sense of the word. He acts almost purely on instinct and emotion, making him very volatile. Logan is very prone to fits of ecstatic glee, and even despondent melancholy, though he prefers to hide his down periods from those around him.

Growing up without a family, Logan was never blessed with the luxury of a formal education. He isn't particularly smart. While his street smarts and his good instincts can often shine through, he doesn't excel at math, language or science in ways that those around him will. He's led a simple life and hasn't experienced many of the things that others may see as commonplace. Despite all that, he's proud of his background and carries great pride in what he's been through in spite of his desire to change his fortune.

Strengths & Weaknesses

+ Street Smarts +
Logan knows how to get around. Shortcuts - the ins and outs and infrastructure of cities - is something he's very familiar with. Growing up, he had to be. He was never the toughest in the gang, or the smartest. It was his speed, and knack for finding a convenient spot that usually kept him alive. Beyond that, he's a relatively good judge of character. While he can at times be too accommodating, he's more often quick to keep someone at arm's length if he recognises any less desirable behaviour around those he cares about.

+ Eager +
Logan is always willing to dive headfirst in any new challenge. Regardless of the danger or threat, he'll always put his best foot forward. If he's checking the heat on a campfire, he'll get just close enough to singe a finger before backing away. Having had nothing to lose his entire life, he only knows risk taking.

+ Reliable +
Logan has a knack for sensing a problem. You can usually count on him to be in the right place at the right time or to make the most diplomatic decision. While he's rarely 'the brains' of any group, he's very good at being a shoulder to cry on. His honour code is easy to understand, which makes him easy to predict in a bad situation. For many, that can be comforting.

+ Nimble +
Speed, agility, stamina. Logan can run. It's something you pick up on when you're running from police, enemy gang members or dangerous Pokemon you've ignorantly ticked off.

- Overprotective -
A desire to please that extends far beyond wanting to help his friends. Logan often takes it upon himself to lead, even when he isn't the most suitable for the job. He sees it as his duty to ensure those around him are safe. Even in battle, he's over keen to withdraw or forfeit, rather than let his Pokemon take a big hit.

- Maverick -
He's convinced himself that he works well with others. He doesn't. While the concept of working with a team gets him excited, he simply doesn't know how to execute it. He's inept at sharing, turn taking, providing feedback and accommodating others into plans. Gang life rarely called for any of the above.

- Self-destructive -
The boy doesn't know when to quit. He's driven, but too much drive can leave you crashing time and time again. This is the endless cycle of Logan. Doubters only fuel his flame more, leading him to try again and again until he proves them wrong.

- Lowbrow -
There's no point sugar-coating it. Logan isn't smart. The boy is no scholar, and he isn't good at hiding it. Not only has he not been formally taught, the majority of what he has been taught is criminally misinformed. Where does the snow come from? According to Logan's brother in his gang, snow is the result of the sun having dandruff.

Background
Logan has never been a part of a stable household. His own parents are incapable of looking after him, he couldn't function in the care system and his adopted parents were quick to realise they couldn't handle a problem child of Logan's temperament. Growing up, he was a trouble maker who got a kick out of teasing, pulling practical jokes and defiance. While his antics remained relatively harmless, they were incessant and uncontrollable. He fell out of home after home, until he simply didn't have one anymore.

Logan was homeless from the age of eleven, and it was then, that he joined his gang. Even back then, Logan could tell that they weren't great people, but they took him in, and gave him a home. For the first time, he felt part of something.

Things weren't always rosy in his gang years. He was still a child, and he still enjoyed his pranks, games and jokes. Only now, he was part of a family that no longer saw him as an innocent child. They had no sympathy for his youth and took to beating the jokes and games out of him whenever they saw fit. Once again, Logan was part of a family that ostracised him for his pranks and his games. Only this time, he stayed. Even with the beatings, the good times were better than they'd ever been in care or in foster homes. Slowly but surely, the gang became home.

It wasn't until he turned fourteen, that his interest in the training of Pokemon started to really blossom. Marred with wounds that left him hospitalised, Logan received no visits from any of the gang. Rumours had began to circulate that Logan had snitched, and his suspicious protection by the services only served validate those suspicions. Once again, Logan was alone. Or so he thought.

Goals
Logan has very rarely ever felt secure in his life. The toughest people he's ever seen are trainers with groups of strong pokemon by their side. He has no idea what to do with them after that, but it's a start.

Gender: Male
Appearance
wylm940.jpg

Jonathan has brown hair and pale skin, he is 5'7" and he wears a black rimmed glasses. He usually wear a crimson vest and gray shirt, while he also use black pants and black boots although the top part is covered by his pants. He doesn't enjoy wearing jacket because it is hot but he keeps a white jacket on his gray backpack. When asked why he is using dark coloured clothes he usually says that even if it's dirty, people wouldn't really pay attention to it. He usually carries a black notebook where he would write important things and appointments in case he forget. He also carries a white umbrella with frills that even though people thought it doesn't fit him he still use, it has "Mary" embroidered on umbrella. He also uses a pocket watch instead of a hand watch because he thinks it's kind of neat.

Personalikty
Jonathan, or usually called John by other people is a calm and calculated person. He also considered to be very soothing by other people because of his smile and cheerful disposition, however some people who are observant also catch a glimpse of sadness beneath his warm smile. He also likes to observe people and tends to comment about their good side to cheer them up, but to himself he consider himself to be a not useful person and tends to recommend other people to fix an issue except when the situation really demands it. John is a very intent listener, and loves to hear his friends talk and confide about themselves to him and he likes to keep tabs about something interesting they tell on his small pocket notebook he always carry in his left pocket. John is also very resourceful in fixing stuffs especially electronics as long as it doesn't include hard labor.

John is very pragmatic and usually prepare more then he should have, as he he believes it is better to be overstocked than to not have supplies and suffer. He enjoys books on Pokemon legends and battling in particular to keep him company rather than sports, especially because he is rather weak in physical strength but pretty good on the brains department. He enjoys good tea, cookies, and cakes especially since it helps him in thinking (That and he has a sweet tooth). He is also a very good violin and piano player. John also has a great trust of potential a people have, also due to some unknown reasons he wouldn't disclose, he disdain people who would flaunt money and authority, and he also has a sharp tongue which usually hurt people when he is extremely angered. Knowing that John would try his best to keep his anger under control as he wouldn't want to hurt other people, especially those he cares for.

History
Not much of John's information is actually published by the camp due to personal request, but what people knew is that John has been orphaned since 13 years old after both of his parents died in a mysterious ship accident and since then has spent the rest of his time at an orphanage. At first years of the orphanage stay, reports said that John sometimes get random panic attacks, he also has extreme trust issues to reasons John didn't want to disclose. Thankfully, both issues starts to subside when John reaches the age of 15. Orphanage caretakers also reports that John is an exemplary child, always try to be the peacemaker and often tries to crack a joke to lift up the mood even though it almost ends up as a dry joke. However, some reports also stated that sometimes John cried alone at night but always denied it when confronted about it, some caretakers also notes that even though John always tries to act Mature and smile, they feel there's still something eating at John's inner mind and that John's smile is possibly a coping mechanism.

John is very renowned at the orphanage where he is called "Big Brother John" by younger kids and also teased by that nickname by older kids, it is told that John is very resourceful and is a favorite of younger kids due to that. He often tell other kids about pokemon stories, playing violin, and helping various chores at the orphanage. Caretakers noted that John usually have his biggest and sincerest smile when he is talking about pokemon battling and they also thinks that John has the talents to be a good trainer in the future. When John is 17 years old, John was sent to Camp Floaroma in hopes to fix the issues still eating at John and for John personally he hopes to be able to face the truth of his issue head on before it is too late.

Do you think you'll be able to get your appearance done in the next 48 hours? If you can't draw it in time you can just write it out and add the image later or use a face claim like Shak, Sapphire and Magilou did.

"Time will not move forward for me. Not yet."

Name: "Luna" Nightingale

Age: 18
Gender: Female
Trainer Class: ???
Place of Birth: ???

Appearance: She is a young, blue-eyed girl who is about 5'7. She had long, flowing black hair that extends to her shoulders, with not too-pasty light skin. For her outfit, she wears a light-striped white turtle necked sweater with black suspenders, with a light-green, light-weight spring jacket that's unbuttoned over it. her beige pants is supported by a black belt, and she wears high-black heel boots for foot wear. On the back of her left hand, there is a quarter-shaped moon mark. She does not recall where it came from, perhaps it might of been a birthmark.

Childhood/Family Life: All she could remember from her childhood was that incident. Her memories begun around 10 years ago, where she was seemingly imprisoned in what she can only describe as a "white, spacious room". She had no idea how, or why, but the only thing that were known to her that this was the closest thing to a 'home' for her. Day in and day out, she was subjected to a number of tests. Pokemon that seemed to be also in captivity were often released, leaving them to engage against her. Luna could do nothing but send out Pokemon contained in pokeballs that were provided for protection, but her lack of experience in pokemon led her to be constantly beaten down. Being beaten and abused in her imprisonment everyday.. it was maddening.

Eventually however, she was rescued by the authorities. However, the event left her with post-traumatic stress disorder, and it's believed that she would have to take years, just to recover. Furthermore, because of her trauma, her memories of her earlier life were wiped away because of that incident. She couldn't even recall her own name, let alone where she lived, or who were her biological parents. There was no other choice for now, but to put her in foster care. Her new foster parents were kind, but her heart was closed off to them. They then noticed that the girl had a strange mark on the back of her left hand; it was shaped like a quarter shaped moon. From this, as an attempt to ease the tension, the girl's foster parent's have decided to name her Luna Nightingale.

There was still no sign or mention of Luna's biological parents. It was almost as if.. they disappeared. It was an odd quirk of fate to be sure; what happened with Luna's real parents? In fact, there were many questions that swarmed in Luna's mind. Why was she kidnapped, and who were the culprits? Why did they subject her to those many trials? And... what was the deal with Luna's mark on her hand? And most importantly, who was she? What was her real name? Luna grew older with these questions in mind. Ten years of her life were taken away, and eventually, time altogether was at a standstill for her. At this point, there was only one saving grace for her: when she turned 18, she entered Camp Floaroma, to help come to terms with her past in order to build her future.

But for her, there was no future. Not until she finds the answers she was looking for.

Personality/Virtues/Skills: Luna is someone unafraid to speak her mind. She takes herself and life seriously, but is sure to not be overbearing. She is kind, yet straightforward to others. She wants to help as many people as she can, but it'd be a mistake to call her a pushover. She doesn't hesitate to scold those who are rude to her and is also really good at taking care of people although never failing to complain about it. Oddly, she has has high expectations of older individuals, and is quick to be abrasive towards them. She is much more tolerant and friendly to children.

Because of her difficult pasts however, it can leave her vulnerable. Her lack of her memory is both a blessing, and a curse for her. It can be easy for her to look forward with her life, but her pondering questions about her life and the situations revolving it leave her to be narrow-minded and obsessed. Her battle against her post-traumatic stress disorder is a difficult one. While she can be easygoing and caring towards pokemon, sometimes, certain pokemon can cause her to tense up and cause severe emotional distress or physical reactions, recalling certain events of her childhood. She often has nightmares about her trauma too... so sleep is often difficult for her. Hopelessness about the future, and the feeling of being detached from the people around her are also direct causes of her traumatic experience, but she keeps her negativity to herself, and tries to put on a brave face for her fellow peers.

Spoiler:

Congrats to Alby, Shak, Sapphire and Odd, you guys are accepted.
Shawn, your character was really cool too so I hope you use her again and if you want to know why I didn't pick her feel free to DM. No fault on your part. For those of you who made it, please join This Discord. Your starter information is below.

Spoiler: Maria
390.png

Starter: Chimchar (Male | Blaze - Scratch, Ember, Double Kick, Work Up)
Nature: Naughty
Rationale: Maria is supremely introverted and timid and most of her problems stem from this. Her Chimchar is outgoing, rambunctious and delights in pranks and games. Not only is she going to have to learn to be more outspoken and firm with it, but it's liable to draw her into situations requiring socialisation.

Spoiler: Logan
280.png

Starter: Ralts (Female | Synchronize - Confusion, Disarming Voice, Teleport, Taunt)
Nature: Rash
Rationale: One of Logan's biggest problems is his need to put up a constant positive front and hide his emotions. Naturally, this will be impossible with a Ralts by his side as they are constantly reading emotions psychically. This particular Ralts has a tendency towards impulsiveness, rashness and poor decision making. In order to properly care for it, Logan will have to learn to temper these qualities in himself and improve his communication skills. Furthermore, while Ralts may grow to become strong, it is quite weak now. Logan will have to learn to put his overbearing side aside if he wants the Ralts to gain the experience it needs to grow, even if it isn't that capable now.

Spoiler: Melody
744.png

Starter: Rockruff (Male | Vital Spirit - Sand-Attack, Bite, Howl, Crush Claw)
Nature: Adamant
Rationale: This Rockruff is stubborn and determined but also very loyal and is unshakeable in this. It's very affectionate, constantly initiating physical contact and if it decides it likes you, you're stuck with it. This sounds like exactly what Melody needs. An extremely loyal companion that will like both of her sides just as much and can help her get used to physical contact again. As an added bonus, it has the potential to be raised into something powerful enough to take pride in too.

Spoiler: John
434.png

Starter: Stunky (Female | Aftermath - Scratch, Smokescreen, Acid Spray, Snarl)
Nature: Gentle
Rationale: Both Poison and Dark type Pokemon tend to have something of a negative reputation and a stigma associated with them. Stunky has the worst of both those worlds with some unique and unfortunate flavour all of its own. The hope is that raising this Stunky will teach John to work past his own misconceptions about the world. Furthermore, this Stunky's gentle nature and friendly disposition will not only give John someone safe to open up to but also teach him to trust the world a little more, without trying to ignore the bad in it.

So here's my attempt to make another sign up! I'm probably playing with fire myself here and I probably haven't fully grasped what it means to be in this RP, but I guess I'll still try and help out!

Connor Barnett

15 years old - ♂

Appearance:
Connor is quite average in build and skin complexion (not too pale, not too tan), with short black hair, but manages to stand out because of his above average height, at 6', and deep blue eyes. And yet, he really would prefer not to stand out, unlike his mother: she would dye her hair very often and wear unusual, colorful clothes to chase the spotlight as a Pokémon coordinator.

Predictably, Connor's most common outfit is made up by black jeans, a shirt, and a pair of trainers. Of course there are many variations on this formula: for example, he can use a linen shirt in summer and either a flannel one a sweatshirt in winter, he can add a long coat when the weather is cold, or he can get himself some accessories. What never changes, of course, is the prevalence of white, black, and shades of grey: some colorful details are alright, but only if they're very minor.

The accessories Connor will use include a baseball cap and sunglasses in summer, or gloves and beanies in winter, but also a bracelet and, even when it's relatively warm outside, a scarf. He'll be fitting as many of these things as he can in his large light blue backpack (which he didn't choose himself, of course), but only after making sure there's enough space for everything else.

Personality:
Connor is confident, brave, and quite independent. Having to rely on himself quite often, he's become less reckless than he once was, and is actually more of a practical thinker. This has also improved his stamina and physical prowess, however he still struggles with tasks where brute force is involved. Even then, he'd still give it his all - even to the point of being self-destructive - before going and asking others for help. This is due to his trust issues. Connor, in fact, is usually quite wary around people and doesn't like becoming vulnerable or admitting his weaknesses. Usually, he doesn't think highly of others at all, and especially doesn't like working in a group.

And yet, Connor doesn't like lying or breaking promises. That sounds like something that his worst enemy - "fake people", as he calls them - would do. So, in order to hide his weakness, he would go for a different strategy: bringing down others. For this reason, Connor still struggles to focus on the good in people more than on the bad, and really doesn't care about hurting people's feelings. But of course, this not only gets him in trouble anyways, but also always makes him appear as the villain.

But what about Pokémon? They are so powerful, and yet (in his mind) always seem to obey their trainer and help him out when he struggles, don't they?
Connor is still very enticed at the idea of using Pokémon as tools, and having them always by his side. Would he appreciate their efforts, though? Probably yes. While he doesn't usually let them know, Connor really appreciates those few people who are honest towards him and help him out in dire situations. Maybe, if they have enough willpower to stick around him, he will try to open up.

History:

Connor grew up in a relatively peaceful and modern neighborhood in Hearthome City. Both his parents are quite young: his father works as a Pokémon breeder, while his mother was once a successful Coordinator, and even now keeps performing all around Sinnoh. On the surface, this still looked like a close-knit family, but there were some subtle, underlying problems. For once, Connor has always described his father as narrow minded and unnecessarily strict. He also never appreciated all the various babysitters he would hire.

And let's not talk about his mother… not only she was home very rarely, but she was also selfish and vain, and would spend a lot of money just for herself, especially when it came to her appearance. She still tried her best in contests, yes, but new competitors soon started to outshine her, and her attempts of reassuring her family only brought down her credibility.

Given the situation, Connor would often prefer other places to home. And while school was one of them at first, he soon found it difficult to make friends and be at ease in that environment. His only other choice, at least in his mind, was escaping and wander off in the city or, even better, in the wilderness.
That had soon become his favorite past-time, also because of wild Pokémon: he had always been interested in them for different reasons, and would spend hours just watching their behavior from afar. Maybe one day he would have caught one.

Even when he was at home, he tried to avoid most contacts: the best way to do this, as he eventually found out, was to close himself up in his room and start practicing with his mother's old guitar. He never planned to improve and master the instrument though: all he wanted was to waste time away.

Tired of his erratic behavior and finally realizing the gravity of the situation, Connor's parents tried to get more information on the matter and finally stumbled upon Camp Floaroma. They kept all of this secret for weeks, thinking that their son would disagree with their decision. And yet, when somewhat out of the blue Connor was told he was successfully accepted, he actually felt relieved. Everything else didn't matter to him as much as the Pokémon he was about to receive. And as much as just how far away from Hearthome he was about to go.

"Whatever... It's not my problem to deal with."

Erin Winters / Female / 19 Years Old

a6jvT3b.jpg

Appearance

Standing at a height of roughly 5'5", Erin is a petite girl with a sporty body build. She keeps her black hair short, letting it only reach down to the base of her neck, with somewhat messy bangs lining the sides of her face. Erin sports a very pale skin complexion, making her resemble someone who has spent a great deal of times indoors and out of the sunlight. Her reddish, brown eyes are contained behind a pair of thick, black glasses. It should be noted that she is absolutely blind without them. In terms of clothing, one could say that Erin has a rather punkish style. She prefers to wear darker colors, usually wearing jeans with various holes and tears in them in along with a black, baggy jacket over her torso. More often than not, her shirts are slathered in various rock and punk band logos, which happen to hang off of her like a tent as well. Erin wears various wristbands off of her right wrist, which is offset by the choker she always wears around her neck. She has a stud piercing in her right ear, along with two hoop earrings in her left. She also has a tattoo in the shape of a Koffing's insignia on her left shoulder. No matter her choice in wardrobe, Erin is never seen without her black shoulder bag and black, ankle-length combat boots. The black bag is a little worn due to how long she's had it, but it is still durable enough to carry her trainer's supplies. It is decorated with various buttons and pins.

Personality

Quiet and moody are the best two terms that one can use to describe Erin. She often keeps to herself, rarely seeming to want to socialize or even be close to those around her. Hardheaded and stubborn, she is quick to form opinions. Once Erin's mind has been set, there seems to be little that most can do to even remotely begin to change it. Because of this, it is very easy for the girl to find herself sucked into conflicts and arguments with those around her, situations which have been known to escalate into violence if left unchecked for long enough. Her obvious distaste for people and socializing has left her being viewed as somewhat of a lone wolf and a troublemaker, which is a perception that Erin seems to be just fine in carrying.

That said, Erin is a practical girl. She takes things at her own pace, thinking things through carefully before just acting out of spite or in an irrational manner. She is extremely self-reliant, and as a result she is one who makes tends to take the time to make sure that she's going to benefit in someway from each and every action that she or someone who she is forced to be with works out in her favor. Because of her loner nature, Erin tends to have many self-dialogues with herself. When she does communicate with others, Erin is very direct and to the point. She doesn't hesitate to mince words and should someone become offended or hurt because of that, she doesn't consider it to be of any fault of her own and chalks it up to their own brittle, easily hurt feelings. She is slow to open up, if she ever does, and very slow to trust, making it very frustrating to those who are forced to work with her on a daily basis.

History

Erin hails from the city of Hearhtrome, where she lived a somewhat modest life with her mother, father, and her twin sister, Emily. Her father works and owns at a local bakery that specializes in poffins, while her mother was somewhat famous in the city for working at the contest hall as a former coordinator and now judge. Erin's mother had always been the doting sort. She had strong hopes for both of her twin daughters to follow in her footsteps, becoming renown Pokémon contestants like she had been back in her youth. Emily seemed to be thrilled with the idea, always watching the various events on television and recordings of her mother's events on television. Erin however, was always different. She could never bring herself to really be interested in the thrill her younger sister and mother felt with Pokémon contests, often choosing to skip out on watching the matches or "practices" that were held with her mother's old Pokémon.

As one might expect, this left a constant strain on Erin's and her mother's relationship. The two would more often than not be at each other's throats, often yelling and bickering over the smallest of things. As a result, Erin began to spend more and more time out of her home and on the busy streets of Hearthome. It was during this time that she met someone who seemed to sympathize greatly with her plight, a girl a year or so older than her named Catherine. Catherine too seemed to come from an extremely stressful home, often dealing with anger constant fights with her single father. Fortunately, she had a way of dealing with situations like that to help alleviate the stress they seemed to cause. Catherine had discovered that by popping prescription pills, all of her worries and anger that she felt towards her father just seemed to disappear... At this point, Erin was desperate to try anything. What followed was roughly a year long addiction to taking any kind of medications she could get her hands on. Erin was careful. She was always careful to try and not be found out. However, it was only a matter of time before her parents and Emily began to suspect that something was amiss when even things as simple as cough syrup and cold medicine began to disappear out of their house at such a rapid rate. Erin was inevitably caught one night, popping various pills into her mouth.

Her mother was livid. Her father was outraged. Emily was beside herself with confusion. All three demanded to know why, but Erin refused to answer. Before she knew it, her whole life was put on hold. She was forbidden to go anywhere or do anything without being under constant supervision. She was no longer allowed to see or speak to Catherine (the girl her mother quickly suspected was responsible), and the family was sworn to secrecy. After all, they had a reputation to uphold and such an act was not going to drag their names through the mud. Erin was livid. It was like anytime that she found any sort of happiness in the world, her mother was always trying to take it away from her.

Needless to say, Erin was not about to take no for an answer. The girl found herself needing a fix and soon found herself desperate to do anything to get that high. Erin began to sneak out at night, meeting up with Catherine to get her fix of pills. It all came crashing down around her soon afterwards, however. The two went to a local pharmacy, desperate to get something, anything in their system. The two girls were inevitably caught, with Catherine quickly making her escape and abandoning Erin to whatever fate awaited her.

It was the straw that broke the Numel's back.

Her mother had had enough with Erin seemingly determined to ruin the family name. The woman refused to bail her daughter out of trouble, even going as far to outright state that the only child she had was Emily. Now alone, hurt, and absolutely no one to rely on, Erin was at the end of her rope. Thankfully, someone seemed to take pity upon the poor girl... and she was soon sent to Camp Floroama for therapy and rehabilitation.

So, in the end I've decided to go with Alby's second character. There was absolutely nothing wrong with Connor in general, but I think Erin is a better fit for this specific RP. Cyaloom, you should keep Connor and re-use them for the next journey you join cause he's legit solid.
