The Unova legendaries weren't really a Romulus and Remus story, but regardless, it'd be strange for the legendaries of a UK-based region to be based off of a story of some other region. If they made a region based on Italy, then it'd make more sense.

  • Kalos's legendaries were based off of Nordic mythology and Hoenn's main trio were based off of Hebrew mythology so I think just because the region itself is based off of Britain it doesn't necessarily mean we're bound to British mythology too.

Here's an interesting theory I just saw: what if the Shield legendary has a rose theme? The reason for this being is that the Shield logo looks like it has thorns coming out of it, and that flower mural on the map looks like it has a shield on it.

It is possible, not to mention roses use thorns as a shield. It is possible that both pokemon may be roses. Especaily if they go about following War of the Roses as well as other things mixed together.

Someone pointed out, that there are a number of rose like things around the map, one building looking like a rose in the final city. I'd have to rewatch the video that spoke about it, but it is possible.

  • I assume that it will be an Wolf-like Pokemon, particualy due to logos based on it. It will be an It could possibly being an steel-type Pokemons since sword & shield are made of steels.

  • For some reason I feel like we are going to be swerved too. Like the Shield mascot (who I believe will be a bulky steel wolf with high defense) will be in sword and the sword mascot would be in shield ( speedy steel wolf with high attack). Kinda how it was in BW

It's either going to be wolf Pokemon, or perhaps the wolf is a third legendary that represents then both and two different legendaries. One for sword one for shield. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they were all three wolves like in BW.

Regardless the wolf is on the logo for some reason, right>

Late to the party, but I hope that the legendary/ies either come from the black dog myths OR from the legend with Gelert, the dog who was slain after Prince Llywelyn the Great, his master, mistakenly thought that he had killed his child - only to find that Gelert was covered in blood not because he'd killed the baby, but because he'd killed a wolf to protect the baby. A dog/wolf set of legendaries, the former of which tries to protect Galar from the latter, would be really awesome - and even cooler, Galar kind of sounds like Gelert, and I'm hoping that there's some sort of connection there!
