This is easily the best show of the season!

First of all: A very original idea. I remember I watching a similar plot when watching AKB0048, The show was about a world where entertainment was forbidden. That's the most similar thing I could think of... but THIS? rofl.

Why the hell does this thread only have one reply? Just watched the first episode (though, even during the early days of the Spring season I was looking forward to this show) and it's better than I expected. Really looking forward to this one, so far this and Ushio to Tora are my favorites this season.

Though...who are you guys going with in the way of Subs? I DLed Deadfish and RG, the latter had a Funi intro so I assume it was subbed by Funi. That said...I'm not sure I'm really satisfied with either of them. I ended up watching the Deadfish one but there were instances where I knew what they were saying wasn't always best fit by what the subs were, and with a show like this that's a given since a lot really has to be interpreted. Despite this...I dunno.

Ontopic: The subs are kinda weird. I know I'm not exactly oh Mr. Japanese Sensei, but there are some translations that make no sense lol

I'm all for going into a show without context, but...well, that bit about the dirty mags and the decency squad shouldn't have been too off-putting- or at least unexpected- especially considering that the show is called "A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist".

And is it even an ecchi? There's a lot of lewd concepts thrown around, but so far it's pretty tame.

I am aware of the fact that the show's premise is TOO out there. XD; Definitely can understand how it can put people off.

Its just that...you need to see at least till the bit where the main female lead makes her proper appearance to actually appreciate the show. She's essentially the main hook of the show - she's what makes the show for me. Her extremely vulgar talk/actions and her thought process is just...amusing to behold. And that laugh. The way she laughs is just amazing. :p Consider Panty and Stocking. A show, as far as I remember, you admitted to being your guilty pleasure. Consider this in the same vein - this is one of those extremely vulgar shows with little-to-no actual ecchi content being shown. The only difference is that PSG didn't have the main character we have in this show. =p

If not anything else, at least watch the first episode till the 5-6 minute mark where the female lead makes her appearance in the show. If you still haven't been intrigued by the show by that point then I guess leave it for later. But yeah, don't just leave it. With your and my taste in vulgar humor being similar (we both like the kind in Gintama and PSG...), I believe you'll ultimately end up liking it. You just have to push enough to somehow get your suspension of disbelief adjusted to this show's crazy premise. =p Give it a shot again, sis. Will probably make your hard days after work a little more easier and fun.

Typical stupid anime, not that it's a bad thing but you can't really expect much from it. That being said it's a good anime to waste time on. :p

I guess s/he meant to refer to its premise and the fact that it is one of those "turn your brains off and enjoy" sort of anime. :p At least, that's what I presumed what I read that. And, if that's the case, I wouldn't exactly disagree.

Well, for watching this show, there is something you need to turn on, but not exactly your brain.

That's exactly what I mean, it's not an anime you can look at and try to pick a deeper meaning in or you can say "This anime is bad because of it's plot". It's one of those animes which doesn't take itself serious which is good from time to time and if they're done right can be extremely enjoyable.

Eh, I dunno. I think it's more that it's a silly concept but it takes itself about as seriously as it can with the concept that it has.

Turning off your brain, at least from what I've seen from the first two episodes, isn't exactly required since its a show with mostly alien characters rightfully missing human common sense due to the scenario. Heck, I'd imagine if the show were more serious and the characters that weren't so alien weren't as eccentric the show would be even more silly.

New episode's out and...wow.

Wow.

The twist of the episode (or the mystery, rather) was spoiled for me but it still hit me, especially because of how they went about it.

But damn...liking this show more and more with each episode. It never strays from the very basic concept of what it is and really does well to show how people would react if they were born into this setting. It's world and concept meld together really well.

What the actual fucking fuck.

It was spoiled to me but holy shit that's...so not what anime usually does. Fucking GOAT/10. AOTS.

Crazy sex fueled anime characters are always scary, I actually felt more scared watching that scene then I did watching most horror animes.

lmfao I didn't think people can actually get scared from stuff like that, lol. But to each their own, I guess. :p Still, it was a surprise. Anime rarely does stuff like this. At least, this kind of stuff rarely happened in the anime I've seen so far.

Prez's motivations kinda seem a little contradictory tbh. But I'll roll with it - this is just that kind of show.

Well that's what happens when you're "infected" with something you absolutely don't understand.

Behaving in a manner that is uncharacteristic of you due to the experience of something entirely new/world-view altering thing is all fine and good. That's understandable. But what she says goes against what she's actually doing. She's banning porn left and right and getting rid of anything lewd just to get the guy who she loves to shower affection on her since she apparently thinks that, in his mind, the purer she is, the better. That's what her dialogues at the end imply - at least that's what I understood.

YET she goes and does something herself that's TOTALLY opposite to that. And something which just goes against her trying to build up a "pure" image of herself in front of the person she is trying to pursue the affection of. But, like I said, I'm not letting that affect my enjoyment at all. Just a minor quip I have is all.
