-Start off with Totodile
-Go through Cherrygrove, find a Poliwag! Now I have two team members.
-Do Sprout Tower to train for Falkner and get Flash for Mt. Silver
FALKNER (Badge #1)
-My Poliwag and Totodile are very overleveled at this point, I did a fair amount of grinding to make sure they survive.
-Poliwag's Hypnosis put his Pokemon to sleep, then I switched Totodile in to finish the job.
-Since it is still nighttime, I snag a Wooper, which I knew would be a good decision.
-Get Old Rod, then go into Union Cave to grab a Magikarp fishing.
-Defeat every Trainer up to Azalea
-Do Slowpoke Well, and I get a Slowpoke!
-Grinding still, now facing Bugsy
BUGSY (Badge #2)
-Now that Totodile evolved, I can just use Croconaw for the battle. Relatively easy.
-Destroy Rival, like not even funny, with Croconaw.
-Ilex Forest, bla bla bla, reach Goldenrod
-Now in Goldenrod, I get the Eevee from Bill in hopes of obtaining Umbreon (Umbreon is the only Dark type I can get until Sneasel in Ice Path, which is a while from now)
-Defeat every Trainer in National Park and all those other places
-Poliwag evolved into Poliwhirl!
-Slowpoke dies while attempting to grind it, and there was a critical hit!
WHITNEY (Badge #3)
-My Croconaw-Poliwhirl combo is each at Lv.29, so Whitney's Miltank can't do very much. Poliwhirl beats Clefairy and Croconaw Headbutts Miltank for the win.
-Grind again for Morty, which includes another bashing of the Rival.
MORTY (Badge #4)
-Croconaw evolves into Feraligatr. THE FUN STOPS HERE
-I go through Mt.Mortar and find Fisher Tully, who I know gives out Water Stones. I was really lucky, because within minutes, I got one. Poliwhirl--->Poliwrath!
-Feraligatr's Bite is too much for Morty's Ghosts to handle!
-I can Surf, so I do the Red Gyarados event. The Hunger Games restrict me from catching this Gyarados, and I already have a Magikarp. I get the Red Scale and most importantly, the EXP SHARE!
Wooper--->Quagsire!
Magikarp--->Gyarados!
I also catch a Goldeen.
-Grinding my team, I take a while before Chuck. Amidst grinding, Goldeen becomes the second member to die, the first being Slowpoke. I really wanted Seaking, and it was very close at Lv.27.
-Lighthouse Event, go to Cianwood
-Snag a Tentacool, which immediately evolves into Tentacruel!
Current Team here:
Feraligatr
Poliwrath
Quagsire
Gyarados
Tentacruel
Ok.
CHUCK (Badge #5)
-I use Quagsire here, as its great Defense will suck up Poliwrath's attacks.
-Feraligatr 2hit his Primeape with Strength
-Amnesia, then Confuse Poliwrath.
-Switch to Feraligatr, Strength, GG.
-Do Team Rocket event to prepare for Jasmine's Steel types.
JASMINE (Badge #6)
-I use Quagsire for the Magnemites, then switch to Poliwrath who Surfs Steelix for the victory.
Now I'm pretty ready to take on Pryce.
PRYCE (Badge #7)
-Poliwrath's Submission helps out here, taking out Dewgong.
-The rest isn't hard, Feraligatr Surfs Piloswine to win.
Off to the Ice Path! Unfortunately, I do not get a Sneasel.
-Stomp the Rockets in Goldenrod to open up Clair's gym.
CLAIR (Badge #8)
I equipped Feraligatr with Ice Punch earlier in the game to prepare for Clair and Lance. Very good decision.
-Ice Punch the Dragonairs, switch to Poliwrath to Hypnosis Kingdra, then spam Strength and Ice Punch to take out Kingdra.
-Dragon Path. Done!
Now I surf to go to Victory Road. The second Trainer I see caps my Gyarados with one Thunderbolt. Ouch. I'll need to replace Gyarados, but for now there are only four.
-Victory Road, defeat the Rival without any deaths. Feraligatr took all of Silver's Pokemon!
GRINDING
-I bring Eevee to Lv.40 trying to get Umbreon, but I'm caught off guard by a Selfdestructing Graveler in Victory Road. Eevee is dead.
-I bring the entire team to Lv.52 to destroy the Elite Four!!!
WILL
To avenge the deaths of Gyarados and Eevee, I wanted to sweep the E4. Destroy them, in fact.
-Feraligatr's Bite and Ice Punch make this game a wrap.
KOGA
-I use the bulky Quagsire to take all of the Bugs hits. Amnesia and a few Earthquake/Surfs later, GG.
BRUNO
-I start with Quagsire, because his lead Hitmontop uses Dig almost every time. For reference, Earthquake is doubly powerful on a Pokemon with Dig active.
-Quagsire's Earthquake one hits the other Hitmons, and two hits Machamp.
KAREN
-I wanted to put her Umbreon to sleep, then had Feraligatr take it out.
-Switch to Quagsire, who finishes the rest of the battle besides Vileplume.
LANCE
Looks like we're almost halfway finished. I had four deaths to this point, pretty good overall. Johto Championship: Here we go.
-Start with Poliwrath, who Hypnosises and Strengths.
-Switch to Feraligatr, whose Ice Punch mopped the floor with the Dragons. Done deal!
