And you are right. The power of the "report" button. I found a post and reported it. The next day, it was deleted by a mod. That's what I do. But, if they're new, I'll give a friendly hint or a friendly reminder, although many see it as mini-modding. So all I'll do is help them.
Helping the member is a great thing to do, but sometimes moderators need help as well. We do not see everything that goes on in individual threads. Most of the time, it's sheer luck when we actually find something that breaks a rule that isn't reported by a member. At least, that's the case for me. Members reporting posts that break the rule is more helpful to us than it is to helping the member, as when we deal with it, we do the exact same thing - and then give a reason as to why.

Just something to think about. If you feel the need to "help the member," help a moderator out and report the problem as well.

  • Well my opinion is that even if you do report the thread, then if it's taken so leniently, how can a new member even know he made mistake? A deleted thread without notice(As far as I'm aware) at all of the original maker of the thread won't let that member know not to do it again. Which brings the whole discussion full circle, where and what exactly is the boundary between politely mini-modding and trying to help out? And to be honest, to every person, to every mod, that boundary is in a different place. Reporting the thread may work but it doesn't stop it from happening again in the future, especially if the original thread poster member is completely unaware of any wrongdoing on his/her part. I think that there should be some form of middle ground in which the normal members can give advice and not mini-mod, because right now that middle ground is decided completely by the reader, not an exact specific rule. And that just leads to further confusion and hassle for the mods if the person does mini-mod, and confusion and hassle for the member if the thread is just reported and deleted without his/her knowing.

Most of the time the mod who locked/moved the thread will say why they moved/locked it, so tthe OP should know what they did wrong and there shouldn't be a reason for a normal member to mini-mod. :< Maybe contacting that member by VM's/PM's saying that they should read the rules/post in the right section/whatever is okay, but you (referring to mini-mods) don't need to say "this is the wrong section for posting this." :\

  • We don't delete those threads. We only delete the threads that have pornography, advertisement, etc. Everything else just gets locked. Just wanted to throw that in here.

What about "Froslass with Spikes and Weather ball" option/(s) ?
Or the same for Glalie... Is Glalie fifth gen?
Assuming you're using it in hail, Blizzard is a superior option since it possesses 20 more Base Power. The only reason to use Weather Ball is that it has 5 more PP. Also, Spikes is excellent for Froslass and Glalie and one of the main reasons to use them (and is why Froslass is so close to being banned from UU!).

And if you need movesets for both: https://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/froslass + https://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/glalie

Is this a bad move for Hippo's?

Smogon has lots, I know. But if I had/have certain things that had/have been added in updates months later (I had Stockpilopotomus for almost 4 months before the smogon update; I had Magic Coat & Wish Girafarig since beating Emerald, smogon lists 'mine' not in GBA but in DP).

This time between updates annoys me. I come here more to ask on thinks I want to go for after seeing if smogon has it already, if smogon has some shoddy thing to edit or if I have some egg hatch feeding me with (false?) hopes of what to do to/with it.

  • I'm making a team in OU and I'm unsure about the last member. I have a Mixpert Lead, DDGyarados, CBScizor, Naive Scarftran and ExpertBelt Mild Electivire. I want to put in a Bulky Starmie for support with Rapid Spin, Recover, Surf and Reflect but then I started thinking of an Explosion/Rapid Spin blocker such as Gengar. I'm not really sure which one to prioritise, or should I replace someone in my team with a Gengar? Not sure whether to add more information as the items and moves should tell you and I don't want to add to much otherwise this would probably go in the RMT.

  • If I use Fling and throw Iron Ball, the effects of it will go away?

Also, what would be a good lead for my NU team? It has
    Banette
    Parasect
    Pidgeot
    Sudowoodo
    Flareon

Yes, the effects of Iron Ball will go away, but you also don't have an item.

From the looks of your NU team, you have 3 Stealth Rock weaks (not good), lose to Espeon (also not good), and even Entei can destoy you (badbadbad). I would honestly drop Pidgeot and Sudowoodo for a bulky water (slowking maybe) and a Skuntank or Murkrow to check Espeon. Your lead can then be a Sandslash to set up Stealth Rock with.

i need help with my bronzong

my bronzong is a support bronzong, it knows trick room, sandstorm, iron deffence, and explosion. and i was wondering how, if i could make it better? the only move i'm willing to get rid of is iron deffence. but i'll get rid of others if i really have to, but it needs to stay a support bronzong.

I think mods lock most threads instead of delete them so they can explain the reason why the thread deserved to be locked.

    Right I have a question;

So when your Ev training how do you know when you have reached the 252 mark so you can work on the other 2 stats that you wish?

    Thanks

Sandstorm sucks. Just use Tyranitar or Hippow, the move Sandstorm wastes a slot.

You have to keep track of them, so, say you are EV training for Speed, go to a cave with golbat, and have a power item on for the speed stat and pokerus. This gets you 12 EVs per battle, or 21 battles, now you just have to put a tally mark every time you win the battle. That is the easiest way.

  • So I'm raising a Murkrow/Honchkrow and I'm facing a dilemma: Do I evolve it at level 44 so it will learn Night Slash, or at 45 so it will learn Sucker Punch? The Murkrow is Adamant, has Super Luck, and currently is being EV trained for attack and speed. It's also rapidly approaching level 40 so I need to make this decision soon.

The advantage to Sucker Punch would be the extra 10 attack strength, but seeing as Night Slash already has a high crit rate and the thing has Super Luck, I feel like the latter may ultimately be more useful. Thoughts?

Evolve it at level 45, since Murkrow learns Sucker Punch at level 45, same with Night Slash for Honchkrow. So, it would learn Sucker Punch, evolve, then learn Night Slash.
