This is huge. For years, Apple had been against the idea of allowing third-party shops to repair iDevices, and would consider the warranty void if a user did a repair not done by a technician that is Apple-certified. While they still have the requirement that an Apple-certified technician be present at the repairs, this decision opens up the gate to repair shops to officially repair iDevices and not just folks from the Apple Store Genius Bar or Best Buy.

What is your take on this?

    Nah

  • Might be a plot apple decided to do. Though no idea what, comsidering they dont like their parts being open market and stuff. Definitly odd choice in terms of Apple themselves.
