  • HISTORY

About 200 years ago, immigrants from Hoenn and Sinnoh traveled far and wide in search for a new place.

After sailing for a very long time, they discovered a new continent, it was filled with diverse Pokemon, and a temperate climate. Not too hot for Sinnoh folk, and not too cold for the Hoennians. They established this land and originally named it Sinnenn, a portmanteau of Sinnoh and Hoenn.

During the first 100 years of Sinnenn's existence, it was peaceful, however during the 1960's, war broke out between the Sinnites, and the Hoennians. The region was split into two, the west, which favors the Sinnites, and the east, which favors the Hoennians.

It took a lot of time, and lives but in 1973, the war had ended. It was great that it did, but Sinnenn wasn't as great as it used to be. The former leaders then decided to unify the two states once more and establish a new government, which is headed by the then Sinnenn Champion, who helped stop the war. This was also the time Sinnenn was formally changed to Saann.

After the Sinnenn Civil War, Saann has flourished greatly. The diversified wildlife that was lost during the war came back, the innovation that was wasted on weapons has been used to do things that generations before them could never do.

In 2008, they were planning to make a new city, wherein the innovative minds of the Saannites were put to the test. Henceforth, Skynet City was born.

In 2010, they found Paradise Cove, which lore dictates is the source of all life in Saann. They then built an underwater utopia around the site, which is now known as Fuchsces Town.

In 2014, Saann has then crowned the current head of state, who is the descendant of the first Saann Champion, who now resides as the current Saann Champion, Lady Emmelie.

And now, Saann has opened its doors to the foreign world, making new diplomatic relations, new tourists, and new opportunities.

    LEGENDS AND LORE

    Innovation and Diversity

"That's what our ancestors said about Saann."

"They believed that when the region formed, the mythical Pokemon, Jirachi, blessed the land with innovation, wishing that this promising land would flourish and become one of the most advanced regions of the world. Others believed in the power of the mythical Pokemon, Meloetta, who instead graced the land with diversity, saying that the land is promised with uniqueness and new oppurtunities."

"Most of our ancestors believed in that myth but others also believed in other small myths."

"There was one myth that all life on Saann started in the bottom of its ocean, wherein a paradise can be seen. They said that Meloetta did infact live here, and is the reason why the place exists on the bottom of the ocean. After a few years, the life that was given in that paradise goes back on a hill not far from the origin. They say the mythical Pokemon, Shaymin, calms their souls and helps them return back to the heavens."

"There is also one last myth that Saann was created by two mythical Pokemon. They say Victini created the land while Manaphy and Phione helped create the sea. Due to both forces helping one another, they created a beautiful region that shines brightly in the horizon."

  • Looking pretty good so far, you've got a really interesting Dex to look at!
I find it amusing that the majority of your type additions are either Fairy or Dark though xD

  • THE ARRIVAL

A ship approached Saann. A fairly large steamboat spewing black smoke into the air. It docked, and out walked a tall woman wearing a black dress and heels. She wore red glasses, and her bright red hair was tied up in a neat bun. Her heels clicked as she left the ship, followed by several other men and women. One particular man was carrying a crate labeled "Porygon" full of Pokeballs.

    Gargantua has arrived.

Welcome Sanctuare Ambassador Gargantua to the lovely region of Saann.

Also, Elizabeth had her Lilligant already, and it just happened to also be a Saannite Pokemon. As a result, her Lilligant does not have the part Fairy gene. What to do...?

    PART 1

    THE SAANNEWS

bringing you quality news over Saann

POKEMON IN THE SAANN REGION ARE ATTACKING PEOPLE

There has been numerous reports of Pokemon in the Saann Region attacking and wreaking havoc amongst the Saannites. One of the first attacks was in Scorpulean City wherein a flock of Fletchling pecked at a local businesskeeper. Reports say that he is in critical condition. So far, the attacks have been consistent all over Western Saann, while there are still no reports of attacks in Eastern Saann. As of yet, there hasn't been an official statement from the Saann government concerning these attacks. However, officials say that there will be a press conference about it tomorrow at Libreal City.

MEANWHILE, BACK IN THE SAANN POKEMON LEAGUE

I watched as the helicopter landed on the helipad. I'm not sure why this mess is happening to be honest.

I boarded the helicopter as we flew to Skynet City to get some answers about the Pokemon attacks.

As we landed in Skynet City, I was greeted by an old colleague.

"Oh hey Somayca. What's happening?" I asked. Somayca is the head developer of the Double Doom system, the Saann version of the Pokemon Storage System.

"A lot is happening, Lady Emmelie. Come inside, we need to debrief you of our status." Somayca ushered me inside.

We walked through the hallways until we reached the control room, where i was met with a sensible woman in a lab coat.

"Hello Lady Emmelie, it is nice of you to join us in such a desperate time." the woman said while shaking my hand.

"Oh it's no problem Professor Keriah. What's the status?" I asked. Professor Keriah is the head of the Saann Space Protocol, and is currently leading the operation concerning the Pokemon attacks.

"Well, it seems we aren't the only ones who are dealing with these attacks. It seems the whole world is plunged into Pokemon anarchy. We also noticed that the attacks seems to be coordinated, like there is someone controlling it. We've gathered some samples and all of them seem to have red eyes and are acting hostile." Professor Keriah explained.

"The source of it, we aren't 100% sure but researchers concluded it came from a legendary Pokemon named Mewtwo." the professor added further.

"Well whatever the source is, we need to neutralize the threat. I want the whole research division of Saann to be working on a cure, Professor, we need more samples, and Somayca, can you book me a press conference tomorrow? With all these attacks becoming more and more aggresive, I might have to initiate Protocol Omega Alpha Delta." I said sternly.

    THE SAANNEWS

SAANN GOVERNMENT INITIATES PROTOCOL OMEGA ALPHA DELTA

Just moments ago, Lady Emmelie has addressed the issue of the Pokemon attacks during the press conference held in Libreal City. This is the full quote from her speech.

"As you all may know, the Pokemon attacks in the Saann Region are getting worse and worse as we speak. Apparently, this has also been the case with the other regions as well. While we don't know the true cause of these attacks, we believe it's the work of the legendary Pokemon, Mewtwo. Even though we are working on a cure to stop these attacks, for the safety of every Saannite and Pokemon on the region I'm initiating Protocol Omega Alpha Delta under the Saann Region. The Saann Region will currently be under a mandatory martial law, All owned Pokemon must be sealed in their Pokeballs to avoid getting influenced, and everyone must stay indoors just to be safe. We will be handing out relief goods, and other necessities while this problem persists. For now, I would advise everyone to go back to your homes and keep yourselves safe from harm."

Lady Emmelie has issued Protocol Omega Alpha Delta, which means the Saann Region is currently under martial law. More news about the attacks will be posted here on the Saannews. Stay tuned.

    MEANWHILE, BACK IN SKYNET CITY

I arrived in Skynet City minutes after I left the press conference. It was a hard decision, but it must be done for the safety of everyone.

I walked in the building as Somayca kept me up to speed with the new info.

Apparently the research division has been pretty successful, they managed to formulate the cure but there was one problem...

"The Pokemon weren't fully healed. After a few minutes, they return to their aggressive nature." Somayca pointed out.

I went to see Professor Keriah to see if she has a solution to the problem.

"Well, to be quite frank, we're stumped. We don't know what other ways we can fix the cure..." Professor Keriah explained.

"Have you tried using the SecretPotion in Johto? I heard they can fully heal any Pokemon ailment." I said.

"Well, I guess it's worth a shot. We could find the compound that helps with the healing process." Professor Keriah said.

Great! Now we just have to hold out for the next few weeks...

  • yay did css finally

The salon was abuzz with the recent news of martial law. Where normally one would have seen a plethora of gossiping trainers grooming genteel Pokémon, there were only humans. Confused, unsettled Coordinators made up the majority with Groomers, Breeders, and other contest-loving folk peppered through the growing crowd.

"Why do we have to keep them cooped up like this?" demanded a fussy-looking lady, gesturing and speaking to the room at large. "I don't know anyone whose Pokémon have gone mad!"
"My poor Vulpix gets antsy when she spends more than a day inside!" whined a heavyset man.
"And it's a Luxury Ball too, that spoiled little turd." another guy muttered, a little bit too loudly.

Oh, the drama, Adrienne thought, hastily vacating her seat as the bickering began. Even in a crisis, still fighting over petty things. She flicked through articles on her holo-tablet as she walked toward the exit. Only about fifty percent affected, hmm?

She paused in the doorway, causing the automatic doors to slide and the majority of her peers to pay attention to the motion.

"I'm gonna take my chances. Keeping my Pokémon indefinitely trapped is cruel. Besides, we've got work to do. Right, Brockway?"

An Aipom released itself from its capsule on cue and jumped up to her shoulder, chittering happily. As they left the salon, Adrienne heard the unmistakable sounds of PokéBalls opening. She smiled.

    "Let's get back to training."

  • SPIRITUAL MALAISE

    PART 1

A few hours ago, Lady Emmelie had put into motion Protocol Omega Alpha Delta, placing a martial law on Saannites. As her responsibilities as Purpricorn's Gym Leader, Melaise had closed down her Gym until further notice, spending the hours with her gym trainers to assist the local police force in ensuring that every child, adult and elderly citizen of Purpricorn were safe at home. She had her trainers remain vigilant while they stayed indoors, such that they could swiftly mobilize and handle any unexpected situations that may hit Purpricorn.

While the rest of the Saann waged their battles against the recent phenomenon in the day, Melaise's battlefield took place in the cloak of the night. Ever since Pokemon started going berserk, she had sensed a paradigm shift in the aura enveloping Noble Hill. Its usual tranquility during the day had been replaced with an unsettling atmosphere. The vivid flowers appeared jarring, juxtaposed against the hostile energy emanating from the hill. Even she had notice her close affinity with Noble Hill diminishing.

Among all the cities, Purpricorn had its least share of Pokemon attacks in broad daylight. But that was only because the wild Pokemon native to Purpricorn were not early risers. As dusk fell, the denizens of the hill grew in power and strength. Just a night ago, a Sableye had broken into the Pokemon Center, causing damage to the equipment. A Drifloon had also attempted to spirit a child away. They barely dodged the bullet, saved by Charon's hasty intervention. The Queen of Ghosts was having none of it. If the phantoms wanted to threaten the sanctuary of Purpricorn, she would put them in their place.

She crossed through the gates that separated the city and the hill, with Acheron by her side, blade unsheathed. She felt the tension in the cold air, like taut metallic wires that she could just pluck with her fingers. She could feel the hill stirring with signs of life lurking in the shadows. Out of the corner of her eye, Melaise spotted a shadow darting out of the bushes, straight towards her. She heard a sharp clang of metal, as Acheron intercepted the sneak attack with his shield. Aggravated as if it wasn't already in berserk mode, the Honedge vehemently lashed out at Acheron with a bombardment of moves. The Aegislash merely blocked each blow with his shield, coated in a gleaming metallic aura, with an unflinching stance. The Honedge started to show signs of fatigue, as its attacks slowed and weakened upon contact, having its blade gradually made blunt by the King's Shield. When it paused for just a partial second in its offense, Acheron instantly switched stances and exploited the opening, executing the ghost with a deadly Shadow Claw.

The sounds of combat had caught the notice of the resident specters, as a swarm of Yamasks rose out of the sea of gravestones, raising up a ghastly dirge of sobbing and moaning. Melaise summoned Charon to quickly end the tragedy; the Drifblim blasted the Yamasks away with a strong gust of dark energy.

As if it wasn't already too early in the night, Melaise and her pokemon heard a crack, loud as a peal of thunder. With tense strides, she headed towards its source – the peak.
