Favorite Pokémon Tournament 2014 - Dark

Votes goes to Umbreon, Absol, Zoroark and Hydreigon.

I've used a good amount of Dark type Pokemon in the past, but none of them stood out a lot to me.

There needs to be more Dark types D: I voted for Malamar, Mightyena, and Houndoom because Malamar is really strong if you take advantage of Contrary (Superpower, anyone?). Also this thing has made an impression from the anime because it's a legitimately evil Pokémon, which apparently is super rare. Mightyena got a vote because Hoenn/nostalgia bias, but Shiftry and Sharpedo fit more for Grass and Water instead of Dark imo, and Absol and Sableye are boring. Also voted for Houndoom since it's boss.

Umbreon and Zoroark. Please.

I've always liked Eeveelutions, and Umbreon is my favourite one by far. I feel like Dark is a really cool type, and it fits the design of Eeveelutions really well. When I evolved it in my first game of Silver, I fell in love immediately. It's sad that I can't really find any good use for it in competitive play.

I found out about Zoroark from a YouTuber, whose favourite Pokémon is Zoroark. Actually, my opinion might be going the same way. Its design is great, really showing off what a Dark-type should be. And then you have its unique Ability which is a great idea and is fun to use.

Sneasel/Weavile, Sableye and Greninja!

Sneasel and Weavile are some of my alltime favorite pokémon. Sableye is a blast to use in the games and Greninja is one of the coolest water starters in a while ;)

Absol, hands down.

There are other Dark Pokemon that I adore such as Umbreon and Houndoom but I don't think they really compare to Absol. I've loved after since my Ruby version and the Jirachi movie only made my love for Absol even stronger. I love love its mega version as well and although it's not the strongest (like a lot of my favorites see howmuch I care about that sort of thing) it still was a reliable asset for my team despite me having given it Sp. Attack moves in Ruby hahah oops.

Umbreon, if you ask any type it's going to be an Eevee evolution.

I voted for all of them exept zorua, liepard, any gen 6 ones, umbreon and darkrai.

My second favourite type! I voted for Murkrow (obviously), Sableye (kick ass ghoul thing), Bisharp (come on... he's just screaming cool) Mandibuzz (both she and her prevo have really clever designs and COME ON SHE'S A VULTURE), Deino and Co. (Cuteness evolving into evil. What's not to love?) and of course the kick ass big bird known as Yveltal (who isn't on the poll, lol).

I'm voting for Houndoom, Mightyena, Absol, Krookodile, and Tyranitar (even though it doesn't count)

Dark types! I have so many favorites!! I just decided to vote my most absolute favorite Pokemon (other wise I would have voted for all except Greninja still hate dislike it's design)

Umbreon (cute looking)
Sneasel & Weavile (still love my weasel Pokemon)
Poochyena & Mightyena (love those two, very few canine that aren't foxes that I like)
Zorua & Zoroark (love foxes a lot!)
Pangoro (learned to love it after using one in a team)

but my main vote goes to the dark Felines!! Purrloin & Liepard!! just loved them!! can't find simpler words to describe them.

I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and vote for the Zorua line. I feel that GameFreak did a nice job with its design that ties in with its whole "illusion" theme. Speaking of illusion, it had a really nice and unique ability. It has a lot of potential which is displayed through it's access to high powered dark type moves, and it's more than a gimmick. I've actually seen it quite a bit in OU, even in the higher portions of the ladder, which should be a testimony of how awesome it is.

Houndour is my favourite dark type, although unfortunately I'm not a fan of Houndoom. I think I rambled on about this in the Fire Type thread, though.

:\ I should've picked something else for variety but none of the other dark types really call out to me or anything.

I actually love 95% of all Dark Types but voting them all would have made my vote pretty invalid, so I went with Mightyena/Zoroark. Mightyena is my top favourite Pokémon overall and has been ever since Hoenn was released (it was also my first ever Shiny Pokémon (albeit as a Poochy) and I've brought him with me across the years all the way to XY). Zoroark is a dark fox that specialises in illusions, so I couldn't not vote for him.

I wanted to give those 2 more of a chance to win so those were the only ones I chose, but otherwise I would have also gone with my other absolute favourites (who I didn't vote) are: Umbreon/Absol/Krookodile/Bisharp/Hydreigon/Greninja/Yveltal.

A bit of a slower week here in the Favorite Pokemon Tournament, but thank you to everyone who showed up to vote!

Even though most of the votes didn't come in until the final 48 hours, the shining light in the dark this week was Umbreon, who won the Dark-type poll for the second year in a row! Also, with the Hydreigon family already being the runners-up in the Dragon-type poll, Houndour and Houndoom will represent the Dark-type in one of the wildcard polls prior to the finale!

YES I'm so happy for Umbreon and Houndoom haha, to me they just epitomise the Dark type :)

Houndoom and Umbreon are my favorites kinda shocking that Greninja didnt get higher hes way over used. Although i like Hydreigon cough* send out a fairy type insta faint!
