Hi,

The cards I traded a Rainbow Rare Darkrai GX (Burning Shadows) for are as follows, however are any of these not Standard Format Legal come the new rotation in September?

Pokemon

Trubbish 56/122 x 4
Garbador 51/145 x 3
Garbador 37/122
Drampa GX 115/145 x 2
Tauros GX 100/149
Tapu Koko SM31
Espurr 59/147
Meowstic 60/147
Oricoro 56/145
Croagunk 54/147 (Burning Shadows)
Toxicroak 55/147 (Burning Shadows)

Trainer

Rescue Stretcher 130/145 x 2
Hex Maniac 75/98
Choice Band 121/145 x 2
Team Flare Grunt 129/146
Field Blower 125/145 x 3
N 105/124 x 2
Trainer's Mail 92/108 x 4
Brigette 134/162
Ultra Ball 135/149 x 4
Float Stone 137/162 x 2
Super Rod 149/162
Pokemon Fan Club 94/106
Ninja Boy 103/114
Enhanced Hammer 124/145 x 2
Multi Switch 129/145 x 3
Energy Loto 122/145 x 2
Special Charge 105/114
Professor Sycamore 107/122
Lysandre 78/98
Olympia 66/83
Skyla 134/149
Crushing Hammer 115/149 x 2

Energy

Psychic x 11
Double Colourless x 4
Rainbow Energy x 4

I traded in my Rainbow Rare so I could have a competitive deck, or at least a deck I could try and be competitive with. However I am confused as to what cards are legal therefore I would like advice for which ones are Standard format legal and then I can whittle this list down to 60.

Any help and advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

I think every card on there will be fine except Lysandre & Hex Maniac. If you wish to replace those cards, Guzma is the new Lysandre. The difference is you have to switch your own pokémon with Guzma as well as your opponent's. There is no direct replacement for Hex Maniac, but the Garbodor from BKP does the same job and is already in your list.

I'm not much of a deckbuilder, so I'll leave that part to someone else.

And that's my cue.

First of all, the rotation is done by sets. Therefore, it would be helpful to know what set these cards came from. You can tell based on the symbol next to the number. Luckily, I have a general idea what set each is from. Once you know what set they are from, check it against this article to see if it is going to stay Standard.

Trainer cards are a special case, however. They only rotate out if every print of the card rotates. For example, Professor's Letter cards from the XY set are still legal because the card was reprinted in BREAKthrough.

So this looks like a relatively standard Drampa/Garbodork deck, with a debatable Garbotoxindor tech. This is good, and will likely be a top deck this season.

Before my edits, you had:
17 Pokemon
39 Trainer
19 Energy
65 total

Pokemon:
As a general rule, 1-1 lines are awful. Get the Espurr, Meowstic, Croagunk, and Toxicroak, they have no purpose here.
Tapu Koko and Oricorio (assuming that's the good Oricorio) are techs that could work in some decks, but they are relatively pointless here. Boot!
Tapu Lele GX is a near necessity in a deck like this, but if you can't get the one or two you need, that should be fine.
New Pokemon count: 11-13

Trainer:
This list is all kinds of broken.
Hex Maniac, as mentioned, is rotating out this year. No need to replace it here.
Flare Grunt barely survives the rotation, but it isn't terribly important to this deck. Consider removal.
Add a third N. Trust me on this one.
Trainer's Mail is ALSO rotating out. Again, dump them.
Super Rod is redundant when you have all that energy and the better card in Stretcher. Remove.
All the one-of Supporters are utterly useless without VS Seeker. You should have four of them.
Remove all the Energy Lotos in favor of Professor's Letters.
As mentioned, remove the Lysandre in favor of Ya Boi Guzma.
Fan Club and Bridgette are a toss up depending on how many EXes your deck runs, but in your 0-EX deck you want Bridgette.
I always run Delinquent in Garbodor. It helps, trust me.

Energy:
I'd dump a Rainbow. Your primary attacker is Garbodor, who prefers a basic energy. Sure it helps Tauros and Drampa, but that isn't worth the deck slots.

My recommended list (additions in bold, changes in italics, removed... gone):

Pokemon - 11-13

Trubbish BKP 56/122 x 4
Garbador GRI 51/145 x 3
Garbador BKP 37/122
Drampa GX GRI 115/145 x 2
Tauros GX SUM 100/149
Tapu Lele GX (any) x2? - Skip this if you don't have them handy.

Trainer - 32-34

Rescue Stretcher x 3
Choice Band x 2
Field Blower x 3
N x 3
Brigette 134/162 x 2
Ultra Ball 135/149 x 4
Float Stone 137/162 x 2
Ninja Boy 103/114
Professor's Letter x 2
Special Charge 105/114
Professor Sycamore x2
Olympia 66/83
Skyla 134/149 x2
Guzma x2
Crushing Hammer 115/149 x 2 (Remove in favor of Lele, if available)
Delinquent x 2

Energy - 15

Psychic x 9
Double Colourless x 4
Rainbow Energy x 2

Thanks for the advice. This helps A LOT :) I'm looking forward to going to local tournaments and with a deck I can understand it should be a great experience.

Again thanks for the advice :)

N, Bridgett, Ninja Boy, special charge, Sycamore, hex maniac, Lysandre, Olympia, Skyla and crushing hammer are all out of set since August 28th rotation, I can make up a deck list from the remaining cards now if you like.

Look when the list was made, lol (last post was July 25th of 2017).

Appreciate the effort to be a helping hand in the community, though!
