    2. A little info
    3. Routes
    4. Towns
    5. Caves/Mountains

    1. Prolog
I'll show you here my way to map ;)

    2. A little info
... when you map, you have one rule you have to show:
    - A map is like a pizza, you need several things on it, mountains, trees, some water, and houses.

And, you have to make new blocks like this:
    Spoiler:

    3. Routes
Thanks to Blackvolution for the pictures in this piece.
    Lets start with the route.
At begin we make a map: 40x40, my standart, and make a border at the map:
    Spoiler:

After that we think about, how to come into the map, and how to go out. At the most of my maps, I have a
begin of a way at the entrance, but this mustn't be.
    Spoiler:

Now make a mountainline, and a house on the map, but think about the space, that the hero see.
    Spoiler:

Puh, now give the route a shape:
    Spoiler:

Yes, you can set grass, take the grass tile, and go aimless through the map.
    Spoiler:

Now it looks nice, but so unspektacular, do you agree?
How is it with flowers? Set the flowers, a diagonal patter is nice, a line is horrible...
Dont forget the bushes and other decoration:
    Spoiler:

For the end, give the map the last shape, set trees one more time.
    Spoiler:

    4. Towns
    Now my pictures :)
In the mapping are towns and routes the same, make a border, the entrances, and the shape.
    Spoiler:

Now the difference between towns and routes, the houses, normal, center and market, if you want a
gym too, but look that the houses don't stay in a line:
    Spoiler:

Now place a sea, a way, a mountain...
    Spoiler:

    ...flowers...fences...decoration!
    Spoiler:

Something is missing... there are so many empty spaces...trees?!
    Spoiler:

    5. Caves and mountains
Juchu, a new thing, lets start ;)
    Caves:
Start like a route, with the border:
    Spoiler:

Now give the map a shape, and place entrances.
    Spoiler:

After that the decoration, water, stones and so on^^.
    Spoiler:

Special, make many many stones, and big stones too!
    Spoiler:

    Finished :)

    Mountains:
Now one of the hardest things in mapping, the mountains.
Start with the first layer of the mountain.
    Spoiler:

Now the next, and next layer...
    Spoiler:

After that the little things, stairs, stones, grass like in the routes...
    Spoiler:

Thanks I needed another mapping tutorial :) - Neti's pictures won't show on the computer :(

Nice! I'm sure it will help me mapping! Thanks!

Not the best maps to help beginners, but still helpful to them.
    Well good tut anyway.

    Buizel 9 ~

Nice tutorial :) I think it will help a lot of people, it has already helped me a bit :), I stink at making a river :S

I like the layouts, however you don't really explain "how to map", you just show pictures of the steps you did. Also, you need to work on your shadows.

Please sav nothing to the shadows... these maps are 6 months old...

    Ty for feedack ;)

This tutoial is good for people like me, who get the geneal idea, but are not quite shore which way to go.
    Thanks Haefele

    Wow.

Wow. Thats all I can say, stunning as It Is.
I can tell you that this has taught me a few things, such as how to map good caves.
The part on mountains was very good, and a few of your maps, had border errors.

And the tree shadows were poorly done. But this turorial is better than neti's.
    Joke.

Well please make one on how to map the sea, and inside houses.

    Good luck. ;)

The cave mapping is very useful for me, seeing as how I suck at mapping them! XD

You've really have grown here since I've last talked to you. And I'm going to have to disagree with cooley and Buizel 9. This may be useful for beginners who understand how to use Advance Map. If the follow this, it could help them improve, with better shape, and everything. (Lets hope they don't make the same maps! XD).

    Anyways, great tutorial, haefele~

This helps my mapping a bit. This taught me a bit more into mapping. Hopefully Bazza should see this. A lot of people think that he needs help on mapping

Nice tut it was very helpful.
Especially the cave part.I have always troubles when i try to make caves.
Do you also have tips for in houses?

Hehe, houses are so funny.... i hate them, they are so bored.
    But here a few tips:
-make other borders, not everytime the same
-if you have the first step, set around the table, everytime a other position

    Sorry but i haven't more^^

    How do you add tilesets

    Please respond
