Hack of: Pokemon Gold

HOW TO APPLY AN UPDATE:
- Delete the old Prism Version.
- Download a clean Gold ROM
- Put the ROM in the same directory as the old Prism version, and rename it to what the old Prism ROM was.
- Apply the patch to the ROM
- You should be able to continue where you left off.

11/25/11 Update:
- Magikarp Caverns should not freeze for anybody now.
- Took out the invisible triggers in the Dream Dimension that caused the game to crash.

Update 9:30 PST:
- Fixed Mismagius Sprites
- Removed weird event in the Laurel Lab.

8/12/10 Update:
- Made it so you can get coal regardless of what level miner you are.
- You can now mine Dusk Stones.

- Fixed Casino Prizes
- Fixe Dawn Stone's Description and usage. You still can't evolve Kirlia yet because I'm not sure how I would program that. I'll figure out a solution eventually, but for the meantime keep a hold of your male Kirlia.
- Added wild Marills to Route 72 & 73. Also made it learn bubble at level 3.
- Turned down encounter rates in Acqua Mines and Mound Cave
- Man in Heath Village now gives you the correct TM.
- Added Growlithes to Route 73
- Made Snorunts less rare.
- Fixed Ralts Special Defense
- Added Sneasel in Mound Cave
- New Movesets for Zubat, Golbat, Crobat, Gligar, Gliscor, Flareon, Natu, Xatu, Rilou, Lucario, Breloom and Sneasel.
- Boulder is now in Magma Caverns like it should be.
- Made Torkoal and the Gastly Family part gas type.
- Made the Jigglypuff Family part sound type.
- A few more typos

- Fix bad item in Laurel Forest's Cave
- Made it so you cant talk to the girl on the right in Rinji's Forest
- Fixed up a few typos
- Lotad can now learn Water gun early on.
- Trees near cut trees shouldn't mess up now
- Volbeat is now male and Illumise is now female instead of the other way around.
- Fixed Manectric and Gardevoir's names
- Many more that I forgot...

Storyline:
This is the story of Prism, the son/daughter of Lance. After playing in his uncle's mine cart it somehow spins out of control and ends up in the region of Naljo. Naljo is a developing region bent on the dream of instant industrialization. After finding a lost Larvitar, Prism must collect the eight Naljo badges while fixing all that is wrong with this corrupted region.


- Featuring the brand new region of Naljo (bigger than Johto), featuring 10 fresh and original cities, towns, and villages, as well as plenty of caves, forests, routes, and several more places. Try not to get lost.
- Return of the region of Rijon (Areas were taken away in Kanto in Gold, Rijon in Prism will have all areas). Rijon will heavily be based around an important second quest.
- 252 Pokemon to find spanning from all four generations.
- New Clock system - No longer real time but can keep track of days months and years.
- Pokemon only areas.
- Three new moves
- Several new items, replacing all of the Teru-Sama's
- New music, ranging from music based from other games, to custom music.
- Five new types (Wood, Gas, Wind, Abnormal, and Sound)
- New TM/HM set
- Lots of scripts made from scratch
- ASM Work
- New Pokedex order (Naljo), as well as the National Dex
- Interact with brand new characters and some returning characters ranging from the official games to characters from Brown.
- Gold Token system - save them up and get something good. Can you find all 80 of them?
- Four crafting Skills, which you can get better and better at
- Side Scrolling areas
- New Minigames




Rules of this thread:
- Do not ask me what programs I used. I use hex Workshop, Goldmap, Tile Layer pro and Hexecute. Find them using google.

What happened, where it happened, what you were doing when it happened, etc. If you give me incomplete information it's going to waste my time because then I have to search for the glitch myself. So don't waste my time, put DETAIL into your glitch report.

- YOU MUST START A NEW FILE IF YOU HAVE A SAVE FILE FROM THE PREVIOUS BETA. OLD FILES ARE NOT COMPATIBLE AND WILL GLITCH UP IF LOADED. This had to be done because many parts of Prism are programmed differently.
- You won't be able to transfer in the Special eggs and Key from Brown just yet. Their uses come much later in the game anyway.

Meet the characters!

Hero: You, the hero is the rarely heard about son/daughter of Lance the legendary Dragon trainer. There isn't much information available about this person sadly.

Prof Ilk: Not his real name, but it's what he likes to go by. He is the most infamous professor in Naljo, and Very intelligent, but his social skills are lacking and has a very bad speak impediment. He believes this was caused because his mother was a microwave repair women while she was pregnant with him. He dedicates his life to proving the world wrong, since the world shunned him for his social problems.

???: A foul-mouthed mentally disturbed 12 year old boy who enjoys torturing Pokemon for his own amusement. Spent two years in juvenile hall because he enjoyed burning stuff to remind him of his recently passed away Charmander. Was forced into boy scouts by his parents to "keep him out of trouble", which is where he earned his infamous pocket knife. His pocket knife is his ultimate tool in making pet Pokemon suffer, whether it's cutting, stabbing skinning them. Whatever he can do, because since he can't enjoy a Pokemon pet, nobody else can.

The Pallet Patrollers: Started out as a duo of kids bent on being superheroes after watching too much TV. They attempted to help people with their Pokemon, yet became the laughing stock since they only made matters worse. Years later, the duo decided it would be best to power up their Pokemon with "illegal supplements" and once they saw the opportunity to take over Team Rocket once Giovanni retired once again, they convinced the thugs to let them lead. It didn't last long though, they were quickly overthrown by the grunts who found them "unbelievably retarded". The rockets stole the patrollers Pokemon, and the duo decided recruit new members and form their own team, which took a while, and they plan on keeping their "evil legacy" going.

The Scientist Union: All bent on finding out everything about Pokemon, at all costs. And I do mean, ALL COSTS. Whether it's disturbing the natural habitats of Pokemon or stealing Pokemon away from their family, or even surgery, they'll do it.

Oh yeah ! I'm not a great fan of romhacks and co, but i still enjoy Brown (one of the best GB games imo), and i really liked the beta 2. You're doing a great job. Do you want to marry me ?

Cool! There are some things I have to do today such as finish playing Soul Silver, so I am going to wait patiently. Also I like how there are going to be Hoenn Pokemon in the game and the new Naljo map textures.

Anyways, it's nice to see a new, fresh thread. Hopefully this one wont get spammed. xD I actually thought the beta was out when I saw the thread. xD Loving the new screenshots, and loving the third and fourth generation Pokemon. Just out of curiousity, but is Torchic in the next beta/planned to be a in future beta? I'm asking because Blaziken is amazing, in my opinion. :D Also, in the third screenshot, is that the minigame that was planned to be in gold/silver/crystal, but was scrapped?

The screenies look nice overall but I don't really like the feeling of a black battle sprite for the hero (unless you made it so that the battle sprite depends on the look of the character which would be something...)

I'm loving these new grapics, is that the dummied out card game that was tossed out in the final version of G/S/C, or is that entirely original, I especially love the world map, very detailed, certainly better than the graphics I made all I can say is: GOOD JOB!!!!
