    Professor Araragi is the first female professor in the Pokémon Games. Any questions about her? Want to speculate?

    Not much to do other than speculate and share pictures, really. We know next to nothing about how she acts.

    I like how she gives you your starter as a gift. The last two generations started with something trying to kill someone, so its nice your character gets a scenario where they could be patient this time around.
     
    I'm excited to see a female Professor in the games. It's about time!
     
    Well, I think this thread has pretty much been summed up in one post.

    How are we supposed to 'speculate' her? She's a professor. That's it.
     
    There are lots of things you can speculate on, actually. For one, you can say whether you like her or not, you can speculate on her role in game, whether she has more Pokemon than Chiramii, whether she'll battle alongside you, whether you'll get to actually battle her, what she's specialising in (like past ones - evolution, breeding etc) based on what you know, etc, there are a range of things. Now don't post saying you can't speculate because you can.
     
    Personally, I am so mad we got a female professor. Why is she not in the kitchen?

    All jokes aside, I am actually pretty happy that there is a female professor now. Japan is probably one of the worst modern countries when it comes to sexism. You can see that in the games, as gender roles are very prevalent in the games.

    The mom is at home taking care of the kids, always.
    The dad is always gone, working.
    The main "jobs" in the game are almost exclusively male (i.e. Professors)

    So it's good we finally have a female professor. NOW TO BRING BACK THE FATHERS! :3 Although I really don't care about that.

    I don't think she will play a major role, besides giving you a PokeDex and Pokemon (does she even do that? I saw a video where you open up a gift..is it from her or something?)

    I'm really happy to see a female professor, I'd love it if I could battle with/against her, she looks like she'd be a fan of normal or flying types.

    you can speculate on her role in game Because that isn't obvious? All the professors do is give you your first Pokemon and a Pokedex/rate it.

    whether she has more Pokemon than Chiramii All of the professors have shown you what a Pokemon is at the beginning of the game. They've never used the Pokemon in game and I doubt it will happen now

    whether she'll battle alongside you, whether you'll get to actually battle her No and no.

    what she's specialising in (like past ones - evolution, breeding etc) That is something to speculate, but their specialisations have never been that important.

    My answers to those are in bold.

    I guess you're right, there are some things to speculate, but none of it is going to be that significantly important in the games.

    But that's only my opinion.
     
    Then if you're not willing to speculate any further, then I suggest not to post here anymore, otherwise you'll just get off-topic.

    Anyway, I'm actually hoping she does have a more significant role in the storyline - actually getting to battle her. It hasn't happened for other professors, but... Isshu is a brand new region and anything is possible, really. Plus I sorta wanna see what she does with her Chiramii, since it was mentioned, so it must have some slight significance. D:
     
    Um, yeah, she is a female professor. =D But not much is gonna happen, eh? So what, it's a different gender. They still have the same job sort of. xD;
    But it is a new twist.
     
    I don't know why, but she appears a little ditzy and floaty to me... IDK. Probably just to go along with my horrib;e scenario where she asks you what color her shijika is to decide the weather... But since she does have Chiramii, I hope it is like out of it's pokeball a lot, just 'cus. And maybe a battling proffesor?

    Wasn't Prof. Oak in red/green supposed to able to battle, but they took it out? I remember reading somewhere that if you hacked well you could battle him.

    I think the level thing would push it just a tad. After all, Red was a champion, and had a good reason for all his Pokemon being that high leveled. A Professor who spends most of her time studying Pokemon in a lab.. I can't expect her to be as high leveled as Red nor higher. But that's just my opinion~

    I like Araragi so far, it's nice to have a change. ^.^
    From the anime preview she seems very kind and collected. :3

    At this moment I don't have anything to speculate, except I do hope to battle her at one point in the games.

    Well, as a professor, she's had a lot of experience with Pokemon. She could have easily leveled up a lot over her time as a professor.

    As a professor, she also spends tons of time in the lab studying, being a busy bee.
    Her Pokemon would probably be level 50-60ish due to this.

    Also she could be a retired Pokemon Trainer like Professor Oak and could have been a Champion like Red...I would laugh if she was the Elite 4 Champion...

    It's about time they removed old timers or professors.
    And she just ROCKS that lab suit. You gotta agree ! (: Her hairstyle is also crazy and shows she's more of a funny Prof. other than "lolz I is tree and r I needz pkdex cmplts !!".
    But I think I read somewhere that Aaragi mean "lily" in Japanese. :/
     
    When I heard we were going to have a female professor from earlier rumors, I thought it was very possible. It was about time GameFreak incorporated a female professor in the games. Her looks is very explicit, very professional. And she looks fairly young, which is a plus I guess.

    Don't really know how much you could speculate on her right now, other than her role in the game compared to the professors of the past. I'd be glad if they gave Prof. Araragi a more significant role in the games other than just giving the players a starter, having us complete the PokéDex, and then checking on it from time to time. I think if the story of the game is going to be more heavily involved, so should the characters.
     
    I really like the idea that we finally have a female professor for a reigon. It makes a nice change & gives a sense of any gender can achieve anything, even in the PokeWorld.

    As for her role, I think it will probably be the same as previous roles, I have a feeling she may specialise in the effects of triple battling or something along those lines? Idk.

    Or maybe she can specialize in moves, more specifically the new Move combo's...
