In the beginning there was only sky and sea. Both hemispheres completely empty, two voids forever sucking at each other's boundaries. For millennia, there was only water and air. Clearness in all forms.
Then came the meteor.
A shining comet, a hammer of blazing rainbow light shrieked through the peaceful sky and tore the tranquil blueness in two. Somewhere in the vast, open ocean, the comet landed and pierced the surface of the water, sinking slowly to the very cradle of life, the fissures that lead to the center of the newborn earth.
The cracks that led to hell.
With the impact came the energizing push. The comet split in two at the utmost depths, revealing a crystal, a massive mineral compound that glowed faintly in harmony with the blackness of the void, pulsing and undulating until blackness reached up to meet the color, and where energy met nothingness, an explosion came forth.
From the bowels of the sea, the legendary beast awoke with a blast rocked the world, splitting open the stomach as the earth titan came forth and poured its magma contents, cooling and rapidly rising to the surface, a hundred million years of construction sped on by the legendary beasts.
A landmass began to form.
Ashes and magma over the course of seven days. Ashes and magma and then the clouds that parted for sunlight.
Ashes and magma.
Ashes and magma and sunlight and sea.
When the peak of Mt. Moon was completed, the last blast of fiery earth destroyed the crystal heart, severing it into three pieces that were swept away by the sea of time, never to be seen or to create wondrous things ever again.

The diversity of Pokémon in Kanto has changed dramatically over the passing years with the growing popularity of Pokemon training. The release of Pokemon throughout the region and daycare center have introduced different species into the ecosystems of Kanto, making the fauna the most diverse it has ever been.
The story progression will be driven by chapters with both mandatory and optional events, with the latter usually containing some kind of prize or rare capture. Each chapter will have multiple events/parts that will not be revealed until the previous part is completed by everyone.
The Levels of Pokemon will determine the attacks and evolution, just like in-game. Any level ups, learning of attacks, and evolution will be handled by me and I will notify you via review posts. The easiest and most efficient way to gain levels is through battles, other methods involve good posts that will garner level ups or sometimes cool items!
It's been 10 years since the events of Red/Blue/Yellow, the once fabled Red has disappeared in his search for Mew and presumed dead. Gym leaders have come and gone with the years, technology has advanced and with it towns and cities have blossomed. The great Professor Oak, hobbling about with his walking stick and hunched back has grown frail and grey and stepped down from his official Pokemon League position and taken the title Doctor Oak. He has opened up an academy in Pallet Town where he is the acting dean, all official Pokemon League matters are left to his granddaughter Professor Daisy Oak.
Catching Pokemon is a focal point in Pokemon Training. A post must end with the classic Pokeball wobble which is when I will alert you whether you have successfully captured the Pokemon or not. I will also assign the gender, level, and nature. The ability can be left up to you and will allow it to be incorporated into your capture post.
The Pokemon Trainer Aptitude Test was introduced by the Pokemon League Association after the Trainer boom three years ago when a spike in trainers overwhelmed the league. The purpose of this test is the weed out those who would quit after a few days into their journey. Those who pass the test's three phases are granted a trainer's licence and the title of trainer, anyone without the license is not allowed to participate in the league challenge and acquire badges. They can of course raise Pokemon and travel, but they are not allowed to participate in any official league events. The test is completely free and open to anyone who wishes to participate. First timers to the test are known as rookies to the rest of the league and are known to break down crying after the first phase. Each season a batch of thirty students from the famous Pallet Academy are chosen to participate as rookies. Rookies from Pallet Academy are famous for being extremely skilled and have a reputation for being the only rookies to pass despite their age.
Mega Evolution is present in this roleplay and Kanto has grown fascinated with the concept, as a region of old fashioned traditions they have embraced Mega Evolution's ancient roots and no one has made it their life's work to understand Mega Evolution more than Professor Daisy Oak.

1. All standarad pokecommunity forum rules apply, please refrain from spamming and making this the laughing stock of the roleplaying boards.
2. Rating is a strict 15+, for some mild language Actually no, ignore that. There might be even more language, and some adult themes and minor gore later on. I can't cater to everyone's comfort zone, you have been warned.
3. As the GM, my word is final, if there is anything you disagree with please feel free to question me. But regardless of what happens i will always have the final say. I also reserve the right to boot you if you aren't active enough, but don't worry I will give you plenty of warnings before we get to that point.
4. There will be a week long application period from the day this is approved, there are no reservations but instead I will survey all the applications at the end of a week and pick the top four. I prefer this method to ensure we have the best quality posts in the roleplay.
5. Pokemon are allowed a max of 6 attacks and may only learn new attacks when I give the green light
6. Once characters are accepted each applicant is required to edit a post here in the OOC thread and maintain it as their character's inventory post. I will provide an example once apps are submitted.
7. When capturing pokemon, end your post with the ball shaking. I will label the wild Pokemon that are available for capture with their rarity, and unless its labeled as "rare" I will likely not refuse the capture. However, the better your post is, the higher level, better attacks, and maybe even an egg-move or useful hold item.
8. Minimum posting rate is once per week, for each player. If you post less without giving me a decent reason, your spot on the RP can be opened up. If you think this will be hard to keep up with, then please don't sign up.

Your friends and family congratulate you almost immediately after the news was released, but the news turned grim as a breaking report came in from Pewter City. Rubble and shreds of metal engulfed in a giant flame was on screen as the reporter commented on the big rig crashing into the Pokemon center and exploding taking more than 10 people's lives. On the big rig, through the fire, the camera zoomed into the red grafitti sprayed across that read: "SCAR". This had been a string of incidents in recent days. Soon after you get images in your head. They look kinda like letters, but before you have a chance to try and decrypt them you receive a burning sensation on your body somewhere. But if quickly faded away, just what was that? You dont' spend much time thinking about it as you collapse in bed.]
