    Story

There are legends born throughout the world, trainers triumphing Champions, Ancient Pokémon awakening, time and space distorted itself, even Pokémon liberation. In every situation presented, there was always someone out there who would write any wrongdoings. They weren't alone, however. They always had their Pokémon by their side. Not just Pokémon, friends, legends, there was always help nearby. Some trainers come and go, to compete in contests, to relax peacefully at home, to continue exploring the vast regions the world has to offer. Their stories are always told by many and some are recorded. When they are, new chapters are written by new faces, with many dangers lurking in every corner. Present day, & everything is at peace, but not for long. There have been reports of people being kidnapped mysteriously, & strangely enough, they leave the kidnapped's Pokemon behind for some reason. This is happening worldwide, & none of the missing have been found so far. Cities & towns have been tightening up security, but they have had little to no success so far. If you're gonna go out at night, be careful.

    You

You are a Pokémon Trainer who wants to be the very best, or you want to shine on stage, or you just want some peace and quiet from all the struggles. Whoever you are, you have the power to shape your own story, your own destiny. It all depends on what you do and what it tells about you. Your story starts in any small town, or somewhere in the mountains or forests. Either way, your journey starts here & now.

Somewhere in Driftveil City, located inside a cafe just by the window was a white hair in a off-center ponytailed girl with icicle blue eyes currently watching people pass by with an neutral expression, nestled comfortably in her arms was an always grinning banette, just like his trainer, it (he) too watched the passers-by though it was more or less eyeing them.

"May I have your order?" The waitress asked as she neared the cold-looking girl, a notepad and pencil in her hands, ready to write their order.

The girl turned her attention to the waitress, "Yes, please. I would like to have one cappuccino." A tug on her sleeve, "And 3 pokesnacks."

The waitress bowed, "I'll be right back with your order." And left. The white-haired girl returned back to watching the people outside the window.

To the other eyes of the people, the trainer and pokemon were normal tourist, probably a rich one with the way she is dressed and sat, it caught most of the people's attention before they dismissed, there were people like her sometimes coming to the cafe. What they don't know was that she was contemplating.

Viviette could not decide whether to compete in the Pokemon World Tournament.

She could watch instead of competing however, she would not experience the thrill of battling other people's pokemon and advancing to the next round. She would not experience the feeling of ifs, would she lose? would she win? would it be a stalemate. Vivi had her share of losses and wins while journeying before she stepped on Unove, to here in Driftveil where the tournament would be taking place.

    Decisions, decisions.

Her mother would scold her and tell her to have confidence and enter the tournament, possibly to get her to be recognized as a great trainer (was she? Vivi was unsure if she is a great trainer) and slowly be famous, it would result in a good reputation, something that Viviette would need for the future. (She didn't want to do it for those reasons-)

    "Here is your order, Miss."

Her train of thought (did she space out too long? her mother would even scold her more at that) were cut off by the waitress that took her order, placing the cappuccino and 3 poke puffins on a plate, to her table. Well three that was now down to two, thanks to her ghost companion.

(One for Atlas, one for Talia.)

For now, she would relax and enjoy her drink.

  • Constantine closed his book and sighed with frustration. Its entire argument on the history of Pokemon training in Kanto made basically no sense, and he was annoyed because it actually seemed to have been reasonably coherent when he'd picked it up. It was, instead, the literary equivalent of mashed potato; a basic argument utterly mangled beyond recognition. Unlike mashed potato, it was utterly unfit for human consumption. Constantine stopped himself as he realised how pathetic this running metaphor was. Kompra was curled up by his feet, halfway between sleep and being awake, gave her trainer a supportive hiss - which came out as a vaguely amusing mumble. Constantine supposed that, with one of his last books in his Saffron home read, it was time for him to leave and find something to do, which could vaguely correspond with a Pokemon journey. He smiled at the thought. His own journey. It was about time.

Bidding a hasty farewell to his parents - he decided that this wouldn't be an occasion for sentimentality - he left home with a backpack containing basic camping equipment, a few changes of clothes, and some money to his name. He decided that he would visit the local Pokemon Centre to get an idea of where to go first. Kompra was safe in her Pokeball and Basil trotted gingerly alongside his trainer, as the glass doors to the Centre slid open and he stepped inside. Like most Pokemon Centres, it was a modern building, with gleaming ceramic tiles and expensive, hi-tech equipment lining the walls. But he wasn't here for the technology; he was here for the corkboard, which possessed information about various goings on in the world, and local opportunities for trainers. He leafed through one or two excessively grandiose boasts by trainers, demanding challengers meet them here and such times, before coming across a flyer for the Pokemon World Tournament Rookie's Cup in Unova. It immediately caught his eye.
He'd been wanting to visit Unova for a while, and this was as good an opportunity as any. If he could compete in a tournament and give his Pokemon and himself a real taste of genuine challenge, all the better! He took a copy of the flyer with him, in case he needed to refer to it for details, and decided that the easiest way to get to Unova - in absence of catching a useful Flying-type Pokemon - would be to use PidgeyJet, Kantoha's resideny budget airline. To do that, he'd need money. To get that, he'd need to battle and acquire some money, and battles were generally less frowned upon outside of the city - or possibly in the gym. He ruled out Saffron's gym; he didn't think his team, especially the Poison-type Kompra, would be able to cope against it just yet. He elected to go south, to Vermilion City, where he'd be able to find some trainers to battle along the way and would be able to catch a PidgeyJet flight from the port. Grinning, he set out.
Leaving the city resulted in a palpable change in atmosphere. Saffron was a bustling, energetic metropolis, with energy and noise and heat coming from every direction. Route 6 had none of that. It was quiet, almost serene. Basil shuffled through the long grass nearby, delighting in chasing small Pokemon across the path of his trainer, only to be distracted by another target the moment he came close to cornering his first one. Constantine watched the Growlithe with amusement, feeling broadly positive about the journey ahead.
'Hey, you!' His wandering was interrupted suddenly by someone running towards him. A girl, with sandy-coloured hair and standing almost a foot shorter than him, charging in his direction. Basil leaped to his owner's defence, growling fiercely at the stranger, who slowed down and stopped about five metres away from Constanine, as she eyed the Growlithe with suspicion. 'This is my route, you hear? Anyone who comes through here has to go through me!' she shouted with a shrill voice.
Constantine was surprised and vaguely amused at this tiny girl's abrasive attitude, but he was keen to battle at any rate. 'If you insist, then. Shall we get started? Basil, ready!?' The Growlithe barked with enthusiasm, ready to take on whatever came his way. The girl laughed excitedly, and threw a Pokeball to the ground. Constantine and Basileus prepared themselves for battle, both tingling with excitement. Kompra was vaguely annoyed from within her Pokeball, and harboured minor hopes that Basil would trip over on his first attack.

  • Gary "The G-Man Jules"
    The Arrival of a Superstar-To-Be

I can do this...This is my moment. The moment where everyone realizes that Gary Jules is the man. The hero that they need. A role model! I. CAN. DO THIS.

"Dang straight, man! I'd love to do some karaoke!" Gary grinned as he climbed on the stage of a small cafe in Olivine. The white-haired youth brushed his long hair from his face and looked around the moderate crowd, who cheered him on. "I'd like to sing, 'The Pidgey Song,' by the Red's Hawt Chibi Pellipers." Hopefully Adventure'll let this little reference slip.

A man dressed in a tacky restaurant worker's outfit laughed and clapped him on the back. "That sounds like a good deal! Let's hear it for...what's your name, kid?"

Gary leaned into a microphone and gave the crowd an award-winning smile. "Gary Jule!"

"Let's hear it for Gary Jule, everyone!"

    I. Am. The best.
    -------
Gary walked out of the small cafe with a grin as he turned back to the cheering crowd. "Thank you, ladies and gentlemen! It's been an honor! I can't say I'll be here all week, but I won't! You've been a great audience!" The Salty Sliggoo was out by the port, where the S.S. Aqua would be arriving shortly to take a group of trainers to the Unova region to participate in the Pokemon World Tournament. Gary had signed up days ago, eager to show his skill in front of the entire world. Soon he would showing the G-Squad off to the world, giving everyone a full spectacle.

Gary looked around and took a deep breath of salty ocean air. This is gonna be a great adventure. He smiled. The world was particularly bright and shiny today, and he loved it. It was as if Arceus himself looked down and gave Gary the best possible adventure starting day. The boy's smile turned into a grin as he pumped his fist in the air. "HELL YEAH, BABY! ADVENTURE TIME!" With no further delay, he took off sprinting towards the dock. He pumped his second fist in the air and let out a loud, "WHOOOOOOOOO!" Several passersby gave the boy an odd look, but he didn't care. There was awesomeness to be had, and he was gonna be at the center of it all.
    -------
Now Gary was sitting at the port, lounging back in a comfy plastic chair. The S.S. Aqua would be docking in mere seconds, and he would be the first man on board. The grin on his face could be seen from all the way across the sea, it seemed. Gary's very presence seemed to emit a happy, obnoxiously positive aura. The three strangers sitting around him couldn't help but smile as he would occasionally lean over and whisper, "Hey...Hey...I'm gonna be the best."
    -------
    Last time, I promise.
The S.S. Aqua pulled into Driftveil City, and as soon as the gangplank lowered into port, a skinny figure came flying off with an unholy battle cry. "WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Gary's cheer could be heard from all over town. He had to let people know that the master had arrived. "Driftveil City," He cried out, coming to a stop in front of the Pokemon Center. "The master is here! Don't worry! The man you all needed is here!" He looked around at a confused crowd. "GARY JULE, MASTER TRAINER," he exclaimed, his ego swelling by the second. "IS GOING TO WIN THE POKEMON WORLD ROOKIE CHAMPIONSHIP!"

Viviette was content sitting with sips of cappuccino flowing into her mouth deliciously, surrounded by her Pokemon. She had let her other two Pokemon out for the poke puffins she had bought, the cafe allowed it of course and now replacing her Banette in her arms was an adorable Azurill still chewing her snack, beside her chair laying in content of eating a puffin was an Electrike taking a small nap.

The ghost Pokemon before was gone. Vivi was not worried, her Banette did this often. (So long he wasn't causing trouble.) Instead, she thought of the tournament.

Her Pokemon were not strong enough to take opponents beyond their level, unless there was a miracle happening; something she did not believe in. However, they would learn even more and improve, even if it does end up making her pokemon cry (Talia) and sulk (Atlas) or just simply being nonchalant (Seth) about it.

If she did sign up: it wouldn't be for recognition, not the way her mother wanted. Vivi just wanted to grow on her own, unrestricted and maybe, she wanted to be one of the best trainers- a strong trainer, just not in Pokemon battles.

Seth would support any of her decision, Atlas would cheer to sign up because it meant battling, Talia might want to sit out and watch lest she cries after losing (Vivi has an berry stored, just in case) or she might want to enter so she could prove herself in someway. Viviette felt stumped, there were pros and cons, the white-haired girl was smacked in the middle of signing up or not signing up.

    Perhaps...

Once she was done with her cappuccino and paying for it, she left the cafe, her Pokemon returning to their Poke Balls and Seth coming back to cling on her left shoulder. Some could not help but glance towards her, it was not her dress that caught their attention but the way she walked, graceful and dignified. It was one of what her mother ingrained to her, Vivi did not notice; it was all habit now.

She passed by a man screaming unholy things in a tone that would make her mother cringe at, screaming that he was going to win, attracting people with how loud and cocky his voice was. Viviette envied him, not for his attitude that was showing in an attention-seeking way. No, she like how he did not hesitate to show the world who he is, a person ready to reach the height of the top, someone not chained. Her mother would be horrified in how the way he carried himself.

A hooligan, she would say. Viviette could imagine the her face, eyes bulging and looking as though she was seeing something scandalous.

It brought a tiny smile to her face. Seth, still clinging on her shoulder, was impressed at the display, more amused than impressed, his eyes following the boy for a moment, his grin widening. Vivi did not stop walking, she continued to go to a place where it would be even more quiet than a cafe, a place where she could go read books.

    The Library.

    Saiai
    Location: Driftveil City

"...This place lacks color." Saiai was staring at the city from afar, standing on the side of the ship he was on. He was headed for Driftveil City. After hearing about the Pokemon World Tournament a day ago, his father decided to sign him up. It was a good opportunity for Saiai to see what other trainers are like as a start, but for Saiai, he wasn't interested who he would battle. He just wanted to battle Pokemon & experience what a battle is like. A trainer battle is still a battle, so he decided why not.

Once the ship docked onto the harbor, Saiai & his father depart the ship. Saiai looks around the area, mostly listening to his headphones. Fi climbs onto Saiai's head to get a better view of the city, getting excited of exploring this new city. Saiai lowers down the volume of his headphones as his father comes by with a few of his bags. "I'll find a room for us. You just keep out of trouble, son," his father directs, taking the bags & walking off to the city.

"I'll try not to," Saiao answers as his father walks off. After being left alone with his Pokemon, Saiai looks at the view of Driftveil City. It didn't look as big as Hearthome City, his first hometown. It also looked less quiet than in Petalburg City. Saiai probably wouldn't have enjoyed living here. Too much noise would disrupt his music mood-

Perhaps that's speaking to nicely about it. Some dude with a hat just screamed their voice out of nowhere, much to Saiai's annoyance. He raises his headphone's volume a bit more to ignore any outside noise. Saiai then enters Driftveil City, looking around the city now that he was within in. Fi was taking in the view of the city, smiling at the buildings, people & Pokemon she was seeing. Saiai wasn't really enjoying the sight, yet he doesn't show it at all. The first thing he could do is get a drink at the cafe. He was lucky this city had a cafe. Once inside, he grabbed a stool & got a waiter's attention. "Can I get a small decaf & 2 Pokesnacks?" After placing his order, he sent out Roy so he could get some fresh air. When the waiter came back with his order, he gave the Pokesnacks to Fi & Roy. Fi was enjoying her snack, while Roy simply ate his Pokesnack quietly. Saiai took out a notebook & pencil while he paused his music. He started jotting down some stuff. "Atmosphere: loud. Music suggestion: something soothing." He puts down his pencil & takes a sip of his decaf. He thought of the upcoming Tournament, who he would go up against. He hoped he would go up against that loudmouth from earlier. He sounded like the type who just gets on everyone's nerves. Well, he's not making good points with Saiai already, even though they haven't met at all. Well, whatever. He'll battle anyone just for the battle. He continues jotting down in his notebook, silently listening to his own music.

  • The ocean breeze was nice throughout Driftveil. One could especially feel the coolness when walking on the Drawbridge, which several people were doing. It was only a scant amount of two groups entering or departing. Overhead and within the bridge, herds of Ducklett were either fluttering or waddling around. It was a good day to be outside, especially to exercise. A jogger ran briskly in one of the bridge's fenced walkways. Soon, perhaps, there would be more bustling activity with the impending tournament.

One young man among others entering the city did so coolly in sharp dress, hands in pockets, sunglasses out. He looked up far ahead of him to the middle of the city, and paused. He adjusted the sunglasses before staring for a few seconds. "We're here now," he announced (to no one...?), "A little less grandiose than Castelia, but business is business." A fleeting thought of the city made him smirk slightly.

His spectral companion materialized right next to his head, giggling slightly with her eyes lit with curiosity. The Shuppet nudged Yori's arm.

"Oh, fine. I don't need these right now anyway." Yori removed his sunglasses and simply handed them towards Phantcie. She practically jumped head-first into them, wearing them for herself with a gleeful gasp. She giggled once more. Yori smirked once more at his companion, and ran a hand through his hair. "We need to find something fun to do, no?" he suggested.

Phantcie acknowledged the notion with a swift nod. Both headed off aimlessly, together, in the next moment.

    Where the heck is Driftveil?
"WOW GREAT JOB PEANUT!," Charles boomed before bounding towards the little blue Pokémon lying just ahead of him. He scooped up the Phanpy and squeezed it into a binding hug, meanwhile the creature let out a giggle which was immediately replied with one of Charles's own. He beamed at the young Pokémon before letting it back to her feet. The dynamic duo, as Charles was now referring to them as, had just won their third battle in a row! The locals were stunned and amazed by seeing a Pokémon not local to the area, which they most likely has never even seen in person before. Taking part in battles was always one of Charles favourite pastimes, and was especially sweet when he'd pick up the win. Peanut shared these feelings and, out of the three Pokémon that were currently in the boys possession, loved to fight the most. Charles was suitably impressed by the baby elephant-like creatures ability to sustain damage and pick up momentum easily, using Rollout. This was especially useful in Physical confrontations! The Ground type pounded it's rivals, including a Joltik, Mienfoo and a Pawniard, into submission using it's resistances and Physical bulk to it's advantage. The Phanpy cried out in victory every time, sort of a signature move the Phanpy was picking up with experience; it never failed to make Charles crack up. It was hilarious after all. And adorable.

Not too long later, and after another beatdown from Phanpy, the pair sat down to relax. Unbeknownst to them, they were very close to the outskirts of the town they were looking for! They were headed for Driftveil for the Rookie tournament. Charles thought he was superior and didn't need to go but his father egged him on, and the boy eventually cracked. While releasing his two other team members, Erin the Wooper and Spagooli the Tangela, he sighed; "Where the heck is Driftveil anyway?," The Tangela looked up and shot him a look. Spagooli was hungry. AGAIN. This did evoke a smile from the teenage boy though and he withdrew some food from his bag and lay it out in three fold-up bowls, also from his bag, for his partners to munch on. He took a swig from a bottle of water that was a little too warm for his liking and lay down. Not even 20 seconds later a ruckus woke him up from his daydream. Tangela and Wooper were starting to fight, and after scanning the surroundings the reasoning was clear, Spagooli ate Erin's meal too! "Spagooli don't eat Erin's food," he whispered. A red beam shot from the spherical capsule in his hand, and Tangela was returned to a safe haven, away from Erin and Peanut, "We're gonna have to work on this," the boy muttered laying out another portion for the Wooper, who squeaked enthusiastically. Charles lay down once more and looked up at the sky. It was darkening, and they needed to find their way to the city before night fully set in. He was exhausted though and let out a yawn, the sound of his Wooper and Phanpy playing made him know everything would be just fine.

  • Gary Jule: The G-Man
    Making Friends with Everyone

Gary grinned as he looked around. After his grand entrance, a few people had asked him if he were here for the tournament, which he replied eagerly, "Hell yeah! The G-Squad is ready for anything!" It seemed that no matter where he went, people couldn't help but smile when they see the stupid grin on the young man's face. Gary spent a bit of time looking around the city, visiting the Pokemon Center, and making purchases at the Poke Mart. Now his backpack was laden with a large quantity of potions, Poke Balls, and food, and he was determined to use it all before the week was out. As Gary exited the store, he released Duke from his Pokeball. The Nidoran was much more behaved in public than Gary's other two Pokemon. The young Pokemon instantly let out a cheerful, "Nido!" Gary, by instinct, lifted him up onto his shoulders with a grin. "Hey there, buddy!" Despite their opposing egos, the two were the best of friends. Duke nuzzled against his trainer's neck and smiled affectionately.

The two made their way towards the tournament complex in hopes of finding more of their competition. "Alright, Duke," Gary started as they made their way forward, "We'll probably be facing a lot of tough competition. I've seen some tough looking trainers that look like they're in our skill-group, and we're gonna need to be at the top of our game. You dig?" Duke let out a growl of approval. "Agreed. Storm and Nova are gonna need to train, but you know that we can't let them out at the same time." He chuckled. "The city couldn't take the combined willpower put together." Gary grinned as they came upon the doors to the tournament complex. The doors of the grand building wooshed open quickly and a gust of cooled air came rushing out. It was absolutely beautiful.

Gary made his way through the clean, some-what crowded room, and found the front desk, manned by a unpleasant looking older woman. "Name?" She squawked out.

A grimace crossed Gary's face. It seemed that the sign-in process would be far less pleasant than he had expected. "Gary Jules! I signed up at the Mahogany Town gym in the Johto region!" He gave the lady the biggest smile he could manage, hoping that it would put her...unpleasant expression away.

"Gary Jule...You're in the system." Her voice only grew less enjoyable as she talked. "Please stay within the vicinity of the facility. The tournament will commence shortly."

"Thank you, ma'am!" Gary grinned even more. "I'll remember to acknowledge you in my victory speech."

"Get the hell out of here."
    ------
Gary found himself sitting outside of the facility with all three of his Pokemon. The three were lined up with Duke separating Storm and Nova. Thankfully they were behaving more so than usual. "Alright guys! We've got a hell of a battle coming up, and I'm gonna need you guys to be at your best!" The Pokemon nodded cheerfully. "We're gonna do some training. Some serious training. So let's take this seriously!"

  • Junichi Hamada
    Inner
    Driftveil City:

"Ah~ Finally here!" A black haired girl with low twin tails cheered as she put her feet on the grounds of Driftveil City togethe with an Arcanine by her side. It had been a long journey but it was also fun and Junichi had enjoyed every single bit of it. "Aren't you happy we can finally relax now, Hiro? I was almost afraid we'd be late on schedule like always." Junichi gentle patted the fur of her beloved Arcanine. "(And why is that? Exactly, because you always have to go off the road and get into trouble.)" Hiro sighed. "Hehe... Come on, you know it's not like that..." Junichi started walking towards a Poké café, hoping to be able to buy herself and her Pokémon some lunch.

Upon entering Junichi noticed there were already some trainers inside. One was somewhere in a corne while the other one sat on a stool behind the bar with headphones on. He had a disturbing aura around him so Junichi guessed it was best to not bother him even a single second. She was pro at getting into trouble after all. "H-Hello there! I'd like soda and 3 Pokésnacks!" Junichi said a bit nervously as she tried to order. Hiro stood behind her and was watching the situation.

It didn't take too long for her order to arrive. Junichi put two Pokésnacks in her back while she gave the remaining one to Hiro. Aoi and Harper were sleeping at it was best to not wake them up. "(So... when was the tournament again?)" Hiro asked Junichi when she took a sip of her soda. "Next week, right...? Oh gods... I don't even know how to participate..." Junichi obviously looked dissapointed in herself and stared at her drink.

    Location: Mt. Battle (Orre Region)

Clayton was at Mt. Battle to try to continue his the winning streak that he had there, thinking that battling through the second area would go as smoothly as the first. Unfortunately, He couldn't even get past the front desk.

"I apologize sir, but we can't accept any challengers at this time. We are currently doing evaluations with our staff and making accommodations at this time." Clayton raised an eyebrow at the receptionist. "Evaluations and accommodations? That's a bit weird compared to when you usually do something like this. Why the sudden change?" The receptionist tried to answer as best as she could. "Well, there's been quite a few staff members that have been calling out as of late due to..." She tried to find the right words."...personal issues, making it difficult for some of the trainers to be able to progress. These accommodations are being made to make the timing more flexible for both the staff and the trainers. This will be going on for about another week or so. Sorry for the inconvenience." Clay shrugged his shoulders and smiled in a forgiving manner. "Don't worry about it. I understand completely. I'll just have to come back at another time then. Thanks, anyways."

Clay walked away from the front desk and over to two other people. One guy and one girl. Well, that's kind of a lie. The boy was human, but the girl... not so much. "Well, it looks like they're going to be out of it for at least a week. They're making a few changes with the trainers among other things." The boy looked at Clay with disbelief. "You're kidding... and here I thought that I was actually going to catch up with you." Clay couldn't help but chuckle with the way that was said. "Yeah... maybe next time you could..." Clay trailed off when he saw the girl walking back with some sort of flyer. Neither of them had realized that she walked off in the first place. "What do you have there, Shadow?" Clay asked as the girl handed him the flyer. "Wait... Shadow? Your Zorua?" Clay's friend facepalmed when he realized that the girl was a Zorua in disguise. Shadow snickered as she usually did, which made the boy more embarrassed. He spoke again, hoping to change the subject. "Anyways, what's the flyer for, Clay?"

"It's for the Pokémon World Tournament in Unova. Apparently, they're holding a rookie cup." Clay finally looked up from the flyer. "I think I might actually join in on the fun." He said with a grin. His friend seemed to agree. Clay then walked back toward the receptionist, who was already getting the sign up sheet from somewhere. He wasn't sure whether she was listening in or if she just knew. "You're name is... Clayton Campbell, yes?" The woman asked. "That's right." He replied. The woman jotted the name down on the sheet and handed him a ticket. "All right! You're all set. All you have to do is confirm it when you get there." Clay gladly accepted the ticket. "Thanks again!" He said as he walked off again. He began to head toward the exit. Before they got out the door, he could hear his friend behind him with a raised voice. "Alright! Looks like we're off to Gateon!"

While it didn't take them long from where they were to reach Gateon, Clay didn't have much time before the next ship heading to Unova began to set off. Before he ran off, however, his friend managed to catch him and began to speak. "Hey... next time we see each other, we need to have a battle." Clay saw this coming from a mile away. "Of course. I doubt that either of us would forget that. It's like a tradition for us, after all." He made a quick wave goodbye before putting Shadow back in her pokeball and began sprinting off to the docks. Thankfully, he made it just in time. He one of the crew members scanned his ticket and he walked on board. The next thing he knew, the vessel was on it's way to the Unova region.

After what seemed like an eternity, the ship finally arrived at the docks of Driftveil City. One of the first people who walked off of it happened to be Clay, who happened to have Glide on his shoulder at the time. "We're finally here. Good god, I actually thought we'd never get here." Once he'd gotten off of the ship, the first thing that he did was take out his PDA and pull up a map of the city. From what he saw, his destination was on the other side of town. "It looks like we've got quite a long walk ahead of us. Let's get started, shall we?" Glide nodded. With that being said, they began to head towards the Pokémon World Tournament to register.

    Saiai
    Location: Driftveil City

Roy, after finishing his Pokefood, was looking out the window of the cafe, watching the passerby's of the city. Fi was still enjoying her own Pokefood still, taking her time. As for Saiai, after jotting down stuff in his notebook, he just kept to himself with his headphones, sipping his decaf passing the time. Cafes just seem to suit Saiai well. "Psh, this place has no class, but it'll do," Some guy in a blue fancy suit walks in, though Saiai is too occupied with his music to notice.

Some people nearby didn't take a liking to the guy's comment, but they chose to ignore it. The rude customer looks around the place, checking the people in the cafe. He sighs & looks for a seat. Saying he was looking for one is a bit of a stretch, getting a seat without even looking. He happens to sit next to Saiai, who pays no attention to the man. The stranger eyes the decaf in his hands & orders, "I'll have what he's having." When he gets his own decaf, he takes a sip, then cringes. He taps on Saiai's shoulder, who takes off his headphones to hear what this guy has to say. "This is what you ordered. I can't stand it," he exclaims. Saiai thought that question was pretty stupid, but everyone has their own opinion.

Saiai spins his decaf a bit & answers, "I don't know. It's okay to me, I guess." The stranger didn't sound satisfied for some reason & keeps the conversation going.

    "Of course you'd people understand."

Now that just sounded like an insult. Saiai didn't give a reaction, not even a glance. "What's that supposed to mean?" he asks concerned.

The man smirks & looks away, "Don't get me wrong, I've had my fair share of distaste. Frankly, I'd prefer my own blend."

"Then why don't you make it?" Saiai sighs, find this whole conversation udderly ridiculous.

"Unfortunately, I don't have the time, so I have to deal with...what's the word, common nourishment's." The man takes another sip of his decaf, clearly scoffing at the taste. "Not to mention I have to look at that udder outfit." Was he just mocking the way Saiai dresses?

"So that suit is suppose to make you look better than anyone else?"

The rude jerk smirks a chuckle & stands from his seat. "I have to make an image for myself, unlike some people." OK, this guy was just a plain jerk. Anyone can just tell from first appearance.

Saiai finishes his drink & throws it into the trash bin. "The way I dress is none of your concern."

"Clearly you have no taste. I mean, look at those earphones. Udderly ridiculous, They're just all over the place." ...He's treading on thin ice. Saiai freezes in his place, then turns his face towards the man himself. His eyes were shown under a light on their own, showing a dark side to Saiai, while the rest of his face showed no change of emotion, if not none at all. The jerk stared back, questioning the look in his face, also not backing away. This might get ugly fast.

Outside the cafe, some people were starting to crowd the area a bit, watching this small feud play out. This news was spreading out a bit in the city.

    Location: Driftveil City (Unova)

Clayton mainly keept to himself while he was headed toward the Tournament. Glide, on the other hand, was still on Clay's shoulder, looking around with a toothy grin on his face that caught a number of people's attention. Clay sighed at some of the looks that were given to them. "Keep it together, would you, Glide? I know you're excited, but we don't need anyone coming to a conclusion that might get us into trouble." The Gligar gave notice to his trainer and toned the grin down a bit, but he went back to looking around.

It was at this point that they noticed a small crowd gathering by a café. While Clayton didn't pay any mind to the crowd itself, he decided to take a quick look as he walked by. From what he saw, there was a staredown happening from inside the café. From what he had seen in Pyrite Town, this usually meant that violence was about to follow in this hostility. What this was about, he wasn't sure, and he wasn't about to intervene without a good reason to. For all he knew, it could've been something ridiculous like one of them thinking that the other gave them a dirty look. He's seen that happen many times before. Either way, it was sometimes better to let people take care of themselves. So instead, he threw his hood over his head to make an attempt to walk by without too much attention.

After passing through the crowd, Clay took his hood off of his head and looked back. It seemed like everyone was too focused on what was happening for them to even notice them. The next thing he noticed was a familiar movement from Shadow's pokeball. Looks like she wants to walk again. Clay let the Zorua out of her pokeball. She then changed into that familiar human form again. Why she always chose that look, he wasn't sure, but at least it's easy to recognize her this way. It didn't take much longer afterwards to reach where the PWT was.

Clayton was met with a cool breeze as he walked through the doors to the tournament complex. The room was completely crowded. He looked around to see if there was an opening where he could get through, but he found none. Looks like he was going to have to push through... He put Glide back in his pokeball and proceeded to shuffle through the crowd with the disguised Zorua right behind him. After what seemed like a good five minutes, he finally made it through the crowd, meeting a rather unpleasant woman at the desk.

"Name?" She truly was about as rude as she looked.

"Clayton Campbell. I signed up at Mt. Battle in the Orre Region." He said with a smile, hoping that she would at least have that tone of hers perked up a little.

"Right... Looks like you're in the system. And what about your friend, there?" Clayton looked behind him to see Shadow start snickering at the woman's question. This only lasted a few seconds before she was startled by something that touched her tail, which made her change back to her normal form. The Zorua looked behind her to see a little girl, who looked amazed by the transformation.

Clay turned back to the woman. "Yeah... as you can easily see now, she's a Pokémon."

Her tone only seemed to get worse as she got aggravated. "Gee, thanks, Captain Obvious."

"You're welcome, General Sarcasm!" Clay could hear a couple of laughs coming from behind him after he said that. Regardless, he was done playing nice.

The woman took a deep sigh before speaking again. "Please stay within the vicinity of the facility. The tournament will begin shortly."

"Thank you." He responded. Even though the woman still spoke with the same tone, he was just happy to hear her say "please" at this point. He then picked up Shadow and shuffled through the crowd once again to find a spot to sit down. Afterwards he let his other two Pokémon out of their pokeballs. Glide had that same look on his face that he did when they first got here. Helios, on the other hand, looked like he just got up from a nap, and knowing him, he probably did. "Alright, guys. The moment we've been waiting for is finally upon us!" He said with a grin on his face. "We all know what's going to happen next, so let's be prepared for it."

Junichi was enjoying her soda when a guy in a nice suit came in and insulted the cafe. Junichi stared at him until he sat down next to the guy she choose not to sit next and minded her own business again. At least... That's what she told herself. In reality she was still listening to their conversation while playing with her glass of Soda. Hiro noticed Junichi's interest and kept an eye on them. "I'm sorry... I know it's rude to listen to someone's conversation but... It seems like this guy choose to sit next to him to piss him off..." Junichi whispered to her beloved Arcanine, still laying on the floor. "(I know exactly what you mean... this guy is looking for a fight.)" He replied to her apology.

"Clearly you have no taste. I mean, look at those earphones. Udderly ridiculous, They're just all over the place." As soon as Junichi heard this she couldn't help but look again. It was terrifying how the eyes of the boy seemed to glow. Junichi didn't feel comfortable by the aura she felt. "(Uh-oh... this is going to get ugly...)" Hiro said as he watched how people were trying to get a glimpse of what was happening.

Junichi slowly stood up and muttered "I'm going to regret this..." before dashing towards the boy with the headphones and the guy with the suit, ending up between the two to keep them distanced. "Hi there! I want to apologize on behalf of my friend here. He's a little moody today." Junichi said while turning to the boy and gesturing her index finger at him. "Don't do things you'll regret later, my friend!" Junichi said, sounding really stupid and turning back to the guy while laughing awkwardly. "Anyway, let's go!" Junichi grabbed the boy by his wrist and lead him through the crowd when leaving the cafe followed by Hiro and probably his Pokémon as well.

After running for a bit, Junichi stopped behind the market building and let go of his wrist. "Phew... I guess that'll do for now..." Junichi said quietly as she catched her breath.

    Saiai
    Location: Driftveil City

This guy was mocking Saiai's headphones, & NO ONE mocks his headphones! Fi & Roy immediately get to his side, Fi holding Saiai's leg concerned & Roy growling at his threat. If this guy had any Pokemon, at least he would out up a fight. "You have no business dissing the headphones," Saiai responded coldly. They both continued to stare down at each other, neither backing off. That's when some girl decided to butt in someone else's business, apologizing for Saiai her friend, & pulls him out of the cafe, leaving the man scoffing at the two & sits back down. Saiai's Pokemon followed so they wouldn't be left behind, Fi riding on Roy as she was still little.

Saiai found himself behind a Pokemart with this weird girl who had to nose in. She was trying to catch her breath after running, & Saiai just cocked his head at her. "I didn't ask for your help, & don't expect a reward just because you did," he responded a bit rudely. Fi & Roy soon caught up & Saiai picks up Fi, turning off his music. He looks at the strange girl. Did she want a prize for helping? Nothing in this world is free, so she must want something for her help.

"Mind oyur own business next time, I can handle my own fights," he exclaimed, petting Fi & thinking back to that jerk from earlier. Anyone who dis his headphones are put on his list, & not a physical list or anything, just Saiai hates now, like most other people. I hate people so much. Fi frowned a bit, feeling Saiai's negative mood. She hoped he could change a bit, just a bit. It makes her uncomfortable. It's lucky Pokemon help calm Saiai down. Such fascinating creatures. "What do you want?" he asks the girl.

  • Ryan "The Righteous"

    Location: Unidentified Ocean-Inner Driftveil City

Ryan was looking out at the ocean that had a gentle breeze where he could smell the sweet crispness of the air. He sniffed it and then sighed. Currently he was on a ship headed to south of the Pokemon World Tournament where a dock stood with several ships already docked there. Ryan went back inside the ship's hull and to the top inner deck, going into the captain's room to speak with him. "Hey, do you know how much longer till we get to Driftveil City? I'm hungry and we've been at sea for two weeks..." Ryan asked the captain. "Don't worry about it, me boy! The trip was long since you came from Hoenn! In fact, we had to go to the south of cross and get past the Fiore region just to get here! Interesting place you see..." Ryan listened to the man with a look of annoyance on his face. This was the second time he had asked the captain this day and the captain had continued to ramble on about places and things he had no interest in knowing about.

In fact, every next word out of the captain's mouth sounded like "Blah, blah, blah. Blah blah? Blah blah blah! Blah blah blah blah." to Ryan. Ryan eventually fell asleep and his Ludicolo let its self out of the Pokeball on Ryan's belt. It danced a hearty dance and a storm cloud appeared above Ryan's head. Ryan woke up to the unfortunate feeling of being electrocuted as Landon, his Ludicolo, chuckled and then went back inside its ball. Ryan put his palm to his face and then heard the captain say something interesting for once. "Hey look, straight ahead is the Driftveil Docks. Land ahoy!" The captain said to everyone on board. They all cheered as they were tired of being on a boat so long and it felt like they had been trapped there for eternity. The boat pulled up to one of the open slots on the Driftveil City dock and Ryan hopped off the ramp. "Go, Valerie, Mickey, and Landon!" Ryan said as he released his Vaporeon, Mantine, and Ludicolo onto the dock next to him respectively.

"You guys ready? We're going to go register for the Pokemon World Tournament!" Ryan said to his Pokemon. Valerie cooed happily, Mickey gave a hearty sound of approval, and Landon danced in acceptance. "Alright then, let's go!" Ryan said to his Pokemon. His three Water type Pokemon followed him further north up the docks till they arrived at the Pokemon World Tournament. "Wow... This is amazing..." Ryan said as his Pokemon thought it too. The place was lit up and there were stands all around with hundreds upon hundreds of people walking around. The main part though, was the imposing building to the north that was big and wide, meaning it was surely where the tournament was being held, Ryan thought. Ryan returned his Pokemon and walked inside the Pokemon World Tournament building to the front registry where a girl with green eyes and long brunette hair stood. "Hi there! Are you here to register for the Pokemon World Tournament?" She asked him with a bubbly mood. "I sure am. Here are my Pokemon." Ryan said. He handed his three Pokeballs to the girl as she scanned them. "May I ask for your name and preferred title?" The girl asked him. "Ryan, Ryan the Righteous. I have traveled from far away Sootopolis City to compete in and win this tournament." Ryan told the girl. "Alright, you're all set! The tournament will begin days from now, so feel free to enjoy the many hotels Driftveil City has to offer!" The girl said to him. "Thank you." Ryan said to her, and walked way outside.

Ryan walked west and then north till he had left the Pokemon World Tournament and entered the main part of Driftveil City. It looked nice and had four hotels as well as a giant market and a Pokemon Gym to the north. Ryan looked at the brochure guide the girl had gave him, and chose to rent out a room at the Driftveil Luxury Suites. "Ah, this is nice." Ryan said as he set his bags down on the top floor in a section of the room and closed his curtain to the hall leading to the hall and the other room on the top floor. Ryan ordered room service and had Casteliacones for desert, being much satisfied with his day. "Good night, guys..." Ryan said sleepily to Landon, Mickey, and Valerie who were cuddled up in certain parts of the room and falling asleep as well. Ryan yawned once more and then fell asleep, dreaming about winning the Driftveil Pokemon World Tournament.

Party: Helios (Heliolisk), Glide (Gligar), and Shadow (Zorua)
    Location: Southern Driftveil City (Unova)

Despite the fact that Clayton knew that the tournament started in a week and that the unpleasant woman's request to stay within the facility was nothing more than some kind of joke (at least to him), he still stayed near the facility to at least train a bit before the day was over. Glide and Shadow made progress in their training while Helios just watched the two go at it while he was trying to doze off and fall asleep again, which Clay wasn't going to allow just yet. It's getting close to that time where they're going to need to find a place to sleep for... the week... he didn't think this through well enough.

"Alright, I think that's about it for the day." Clay said as he stood up. "I know we're cutting this off a little early, but we need to find a hotel or some other place to stay for at least a week so we don't wake up freezing the next morning." While Clay can probably find a spot on the outside to hole up in, he doesn't like that idea when he's in a city like this where there's a constant sea breeze. After that one cold night in Gateon, he never wanted to fall asleep outside in a place like this ever again. So with Glide on his shoulder, Shadow in her usual human disguise, and Helios in tow, the four of them headed off in search of said place to stay.

After some time of wandering around the city, Clayton finally found a hotel to stay at. It wasn't too expensive, and at the same time, it wasn't too cheap either. In fact, it was just in the right spot of his price range. He rented a room and immediately headed over to where it was and opened the door. It was your usual run of the mill mid-quality hotel room. There was nothing special to it, not that he really cared. At this point, he was just glad that he could find a place to stay despite his lack of planning ahead.

Clay entered the room with all three of his Pokémon. Helios collapsed on the floor in the middle of the room, asleep once again. No one was surprised. In fact, Shadow almost did that same thing, and even Glide looked tired. It was a long day for everyone. Clay, who was pretty tired himself, walked over to the closest bet to lay down in it. Glide took the spare bed as Shadow changed back to her true self to sleep in the same bed with Clay, who pet the Zorua for a little bit before drifting off to sleep while thinking about the week ahead of them.

It was going to be a hell of a week.

Junichi turned around to the boy only to hear him being ungrateful for her actions. "I didn't ask for your help and don't expect a reward just because you did," he said as he cocked his head away and seemed to be turning off his headphones. Junichi just stared at him with a stunned look on her face. "Mind your own business next time, I can handle my own fights." When he said this the look on Junichi's face seemed to change more coldly. "(Uh-oh... there we go...)" Hiro growled as he shaked his head. "What do you want?" he asked.

"Ha ha... handle your own fights you say?" Junichi laughed before suddenly turning serious again. "That guy would've kicked your behind in front of everyone if I hadn't bumped in so stop acting like a spoiled brat and be grateful someone tried helping you." Junichi spoke. The nice a sweet girl from just now seemed to have completely vanished like snow on a summer day. "But alright. Next time you're in trouble I'll just look away just like everyone else does, okay?" Junichi turned around. "You should know how to handle your temper, boy. It's going to give you big problems someday." with these last words Junichi walked towards the Pokémon center. "(You are going to get into big trouble someday too...)" Hiro stood up and followed her. "Shut up..."

Inside the Pokémon center Junichi ordered a room and settled down pretty quick. She didn't have much stuff with her anyway. "I hope I get to kick his --- at the tournament..." Junichi pulled the blanket all over her while Hiro was sleeping on the floor near her bed.

    ______________________________________________________________________________________

The crowd parted immediately as the cry rang out. Like a bullet, he shot through the opening he'd created. Seemingly from nowhere, he swooped down upon her and, in a moment's time, arose with her things in one hand. The man then offered a low, humbling bow while stating: "Your purse, madame?"

"O-oh! Thank you so very much...!" The older woman was infinitely shocked. She accepted her purse with mouth agape and hands trembling. Houstin would've thought she'd suffered a heart attack if he'd moved any faster. Members of the developing crowd near the PWT building's entrance shared the sense of bewilderment. Others were trickling off to claim their seats for the upcoming show. The majority was less than engaging; not exactly ideal.

"No need for thanks, of any sort. I simply offered the help you needed." He almost added "Unlike others", but decided the blunt, accusatory tone he'd taken on was enough. A few visitors near the front of the crowd tugged bashfully at their collars or wrung their hands. One or two guiltier folk stuck around to ask if everything was alright. Unfortunately, the rest had lost all interest in the situation entirely and left. Houstin had forgotten Unova was much more different than Sinnoh, where everyone was compassionate towards even the curtest of strangers. Unova was busy and cramped. No one had time to bother about anyone but themselves. The thought of all those snooty, stuck up businessmen in one place caused Houstin's blood to curdle and the irony was lost to him.

"Yes, well, much obliged anyways." The elderly woman brushed the others off with nonchalance before being helped to her feet. "Oof! But anywho, you young man... seem familiar. Are you participating in the competition?"

"Why, yes I am!" came Houstin's reply.

"Ah, good! More foreigners. Unova could use a few more of those! But you're Hoenn-born, I take it?"

What? Hoenn!? How absurd! I'd have to be half-Poliwag to even get around! "Er, no ma'am, I'm Sinnoen."

"Oh, excuse me! Heh, they say us Unovians don't know a damn thing beyond our home region, and they must be right! Aha! But, anyways, you'd best be moving to the waiting room. And me to my seat! This is my first visit to the PWT, you see, and I don't want to miss a single moment! Tell me child, will you give me a good show?"

Oh, you have no idea, old lady. "I think I'll give you quite the performance."

She beamed across at him. "Good, good! But I'd best be leaving then. Good luck!"

"Enjoy yourself!" Remember to root for me...! For an old coot, she moved absurdly fast in heels. She talked at a similar pace. Houstin felt he'd missed a lot of what she'd said but none of it would be important later anyways. Thus, he turned around and made his way to the waiting room and, if things went as well as he assumed they would, his grand Training debut.
