Event: Pokémon Puzzle Parade - Puzzle thread #1

Looks like you've found the first set of puzzles. If you haven't read the main thread yet, it might come in handy to do so first. This week's puzzles aren't very complicated, just a couple of riddles and a sudoku. The rhyme may be terrible, but I did my best. It was hard to estimate the right level of the sudoku, as not everyone puzzles as much. I could solve it in about five minutes, so I doubt it will be too hard.

Puzzle 1: Riddles!

Solve the riddles. Each of the answers is a Pokémon. As it's impossible base the hint on the answers in this puzzle (as it would make the riddles a lot easier to solve), so I'll PM the hint when all answers are correct.

You know Zubat's friggin' move?
Well, I know the same.
I'm available in Hoenn,
Near the start of the game.

2.
Being exposed to the ball of light
Enhances my powers in a fight.

3.
Do you perhaps by any chance
Know this Sevii guy and his dance?
He named this dance after me,
healing your party's Pokémon for free.

4.
Beware and watch me,
The only having STAB Ancient Power of the three!

5.
Collecting them is just my thing,
I keep all of them here on my ring.

Puzzle #2: Energy Sudoku

Solve the sudoku by filling in each square with one of the energy symbols () and making sure each row, column and each of the nine 3×3 squares contains each energy exactly once. Send your answer in the form of an image of the filled in puzzle. The hint obtained from this puzzle is a type combination of the two energies in the highlighted squares.



Here's a link to a docx file containing the sudoku. I guessed it could be an easier way to fill it in.

Puzzle 1: Riddles! - Answers

1.
You know Zubat's friggin' move?
Well, I know the same.
I'm available in Hoenn,
Near the start of the game.

Answer: Wingull! I have to admit this riddle appeared to be the hardest of the bunch, I thought it would have been clearer. "Zubat's friggin' move" was referring to Supersonic and Wingull is the only Pokémon available in early Hoenn that knows the move at the point. I've seen Nincada's Leech Life a lot too.


2.
Being exposed to the ball of light
Enhances my powers in a fight.

Answer: Pikachu! The "ball of light" is obviously the light ball item, which doubles the attack and special attack when held by Pikachu.

He named this dance after me,
healing your party's Pokémon for free.

Answer: Chansey! Everybody who has sent in riddles got this one right. It's pretty straight-forward. There's this guy on the Sevii Islands, the Sevault Canyon to be more precise, that heals your Pokémon by performing the Chansey dance.


4.
Beware and watch me,
The only having STAB Ancient Power of the three!

Answer: Regirock! Another very clear riddle, there's only one trio of which all Pokémon can learn Ancient Power in which only one of them has STAB on the move: Regirock.


5.
Collecting them is just my thing,
I keep all of them here on my ring.

Answer: Klefki! According to Klefki's PokéDex entries, the Pokémon are obsessed collectors of keys, which they carry on their ring.
