The nominations have been announced for this year's Academy Awards, and leading the nomination charge this year is The Revenant with 12 nods, while Mad Max: Fury Road is coming second with 10 nods.
The nominees:
My thoughts on these nominees, it's an all-male battlefield for Best Director and an all-white contention in the acting categories, and seeing the likes of Spielberg and Tarantino snubbed for Best Director, and the new Star Wars film only getting nods in the technical categories. But with The Revenant's huge list of nods and its recent success at the Golden Globes, I think DiCaprio's Oscar drought might finally be coming to an end because I think this is the film that might finally win him that Best Actor gong that everyone wanted him to win for so long.
