"Court is now in session," You hear a voice, a pretentious and fanciful voice. The judge glares down at you patronizingly.
"I, Judge Hilda H. Salska, will be presiding today's trial with these... potential Hylics." Hilda scoffs in disgust before continuing. "The Council will evaluate their actions and deem whether or not they are worthy." You remember reading similar words once before... a story that had been ingrained into your mind...
Long ago, a group of evil people known as trainers used terrible beasts known as Pokemon to to repress and bully the rest. They sowed chaos across the beautiful region of Lasvion, until they incurred the wrath of the great Goddess Norea, who purified the region with a catastrophic storm. This storm caused much destruction, but eliminated the plague of these trainers and their beasts. She then proclaimed the Four Laws of Sanctic which all must follow, before ascending into the heavens. The people took these laws and founded the religion that currently governs the entire region known as Sanctic. To this day, she sleeps, waiting for the time when select people can evolve into perfect angelic beings known as The Elect. When they prove that they are worthy, the Goddess will remove them from this world and ascend them into a perfect world of the heavens.
What that basically meant to you - and everyone in Lasvion - was simple - do not do the following:
- The First Law - "Man and Pokemon are to be separate. True Beasts [the Hylic] are not to be tamed, but instead subjugated, so that the True People can ascend into The Elect."
The absolutely most important law. Do not interact with Pokemon in any way. Don't touch one, don't look at one, nothing. And especially, do not train them at any costs.
- The Second Law - "It is every Sanctic's responsibility to follow the will of Norea. Do not shirk that responsibility or follow false Gods."
Stay away from heretics, from any upstarts who try to defy the will of Sanctic. And especially, don't rebel yourself or join any of those pesky resistance groups.
- The Third Law - "Conflict is the will of a fearful, tainted soul. Those who are corrupted by it are True Beasts [Hylics]."
Don't cause death, violence, or destruction.
- The Fourth Law - "The people of Sanctic are a spiritual collective, consciousnesses and hearts bound for all of eternity. Those who attempt to sever the bond surrender harmony to the chaos of the Hylic."
Everyone's got to wear an emblem on their clothes. Absolutely do not tear it off more than three times. You've heard the reason they're so strict about this one is because they're using that symbol to keep track of people at all times.
But you didn't listen. For whatever reason, you decided to break one of the Four Laws. Maybe you were oblivious, maybe you were a rebel, or maybe you just didn't care. The Sanctic Crusaders, the police force of this land, wouldn't hear anything of it. They just dragged you away to that courtroom and here you were, about to be sentenced to Goddess knows what.
"The Council has examined all of the evidence and have come to the decision that these beasts are… guilty. Take them away." She proclaims as she bangs her gavel. Then suddenly... the entire room starts to go fuzzy...
You open your eyes, not sure how much time passed from the trial. But you feel yourself to be... a little off. It seems you're in some kind of prison cell. You try to move, but feel yourself chained to something. You look down to try to get your bearings and...
What... what is this?! You're... a Pokémon?!
A few minutes later, some guards come in and undo your shackles from the wall. They utter something about not trying to escape, or the control crystal now embedded in your body will administer an extremely painful shock. But as long as you play nice, you'll be rewarded with good sensations and better treatment. Then they throw you into a large musty room, filled with even more Pokemon just like you, and demand that you work. For the rest of your days...
Welcome to Santic! To summarize that all up, you are a Hylic, a human who has been transformed into a Pokémon slave and thrown to toil in in a secret underground facility. You broke one of those Four Laws listed above, and this is your punishment. But worry not! Our group is going to work to try to escape from the facility, maybe transform back to their original forms, and attempt to take down this horrible system once and for all.
Before you do that though, you should probably read...
THE RULES AND ESSENTIAL LORE INFORMATION
- No godmodding (controlling other people's characters), Mary-Sues, etc. You know, the basics.
- Please type with as much proper grammar and spelling as you can, and make sure that any lengthier posts are encased in paragraphs.
- Try to stay as active as possible, and aim to make a post once every four days, at least. We all know how frequently forum RPs die. If you're going to be away for an extended period of time, please post in this thread and let us know.
- You can only play a Hylic. Any human characters you play may only be NPCs who are related to your character in some way. Like an enemy, a sibling, etc.
- You may not play a Legendary Pokémon or an Ultra Beast. The only one who may control these types of Pokemon is myself. Other than that, you can play any Pokemon, of any stage, that you desire.
- Your character cannot be younger than 17 years old, due to the fact that before this age, people are considered children and are not punished harshly for breaking the laws.
- There are no naturally wild Pokemon in this region. Any wild Pokemon are either escaped Hylics or their descendants who live in small, hidden pockets of the region.
- Lasvion is completely closed off from outer regions, so your character cannot be from any others.
- The public is completely unaware of how people are punished when they break one of the Four Laws and know nothing about the Hylics or the underground facilities, so keep that in mind.
- Knowledge of Pokemon is not widespread, so unless your character is part of an underground resistance group, they wouldn't know much about specific species.
- In order to get by without Pokemon, humans in the region use special machines to emulate Pokemon types and moves. They place TM discs inside of their machines to use moves, though they are much weaker than a Pokemon. Many humans often specialize in one type, which influences what they will become when they are transformed. They are known as Type Machines, and are powered by a gem that provides energy.
- Most Hylics lose their ability to speak to humans and can only make noises that can be understood by other Pokemon. Your character may only communicate with humans if they are a Psychic-type or a species shown to have telepathic abilities.
- Lastly, please feel free to manipulate the plot/environment! Be creative! I highly encourage everyone taking a big part in it, and all of us writing the plot together.

Age:
Gender:
Species:

Pokemon Appearance: (Their current appearance as a Pokemon. List any differences from the species' normal appearance. You must also detail the placement of your character's control crystal, as well as its color. Example: "A shiny Luxray with green eyes that wears a scarf. His control crystal is on his back and is green." Note that the Sanctic do allow Hylics to keep some accessories that they used to wear as a human to remind them of what they lost. You may provide an image instead of a description if you have one in the main image section. You can also supplement your image with a description.)
Personality:
History: (You must include, in addition to anything before the occurring of the RP's events, how exactly they got caught by the Sanctic Crusaders and what they got caught doing to have the punishment thrust upon them. Whatever they got caught doing must involve breaking one of the Four Laws.)
Moves: (Six moves max. You may have one special move that the species cannot learn, which will be a move that your character frequently used as a human that their transformed species might not have. Please note that with a * and make sure it's within reason. Don't give a Water-type move to a Fire-type. Example: An Ampharos with Flash Cannon would have it noted as Flash Cannon*)
Other: (Whatever else you feel like adding in that doesn't fit into any of the other sections.)
EXTRAS
Stuff that's not super essential to know at the start, but is recommended if you're stuck on creating a character or are just more curious about the lore and want to move the story on yourself. This isn't really set in stone though and can be changed as the story goes along if things develop differently. Think of it as a framework. So don't sweat reading through it fully.

About Lasvion
Spoiler:
A special region where Pokemon training, and most interactions between humans and Pokemon are illegal and banned. This region is dominated by the highly strict Sanctic religion, which regulates all of its laws and acts as its government. It is inhabited exclusively by non-trainers and all natural areas have been completely depleted of Pokemon, being regulated by artificial means. Any Pokemon found in the region are former humans known as the Hylic or their descendants.
Ironically, the Hylic are IMMENSELY important to keeping Lasvion going. They provide everything from food to electricity and produce all of the necessities. They are necessary for this function so that normal humans can concentrate on developing their technology, leisure, and other such high-minded concepts that contribute positively to society.
Though most Hylic are imprisoned, there are a few fugitives living in the non-inhabited areas. Very rarely, they will accidentally be seen by a human, which will result in that human being proclaimed as a Hylic themselves as a violation of the First Law. After this occurs, the areas where these fugitives were found are typically vigorously searched and purged. There are few survivors of this process, so fugitives are very wary and careful of themselves.
In the past, Lasvion had aggressive relations with other regions and tried to spread Sanctic by warring with them, but were unsuccessful due to the fact that their technologies still weren't advanced enough to compete with Pokemon. So they sealed themselves off and made the region inaccessible from the outside. Only those with special permission are able to get in from the outside. Now their plan is to grow big enough to have the technology to completely separate themselves from the planet and populate another one. They want to make their own world without Pokemon trainers.

Detailed Location Information
Spoiler:
Facilities
Pneumatic Spacefaring Testing (P.S.T.) Facility
Sanctic's most advanced facility. This is where they research rocket engines and shuttles for venturing into outer space. It is located far away from civilization to prevent anyone from finding out their secrets. An underground railway connects it to the main facility of Arcadia.
Many Flying-type specialists are sent here to assist in the whole flying aspect of the shuttles.
Hypostasis Chamber/Arcadia
Split into 7 different facilities, this is where the main headquarters of Sanctic is located. The central facility houses the Hypostasis Chamber, where humans are transformed into Pokemon, as well as the living quarters for both the Pokemon and the prison guards. The other areas are the different work environments for the Hylic. Each is typically based on the different Pokemon types and abilities, but depending on an individual's performance, they may be moved elsewhere, regardless of type. Ghost is the only type that don't have a typical facility to work in. Generally, they will go wherever the most help is needed.
Facility 1 - This is the location where mostly Normal, Fighting, Electric and Steel-types work. Most of the work here is manual labor to create machines. Normal and Fighting types to do heavy lifting, Steel types are used to bend and alter different kinds of metal, and Electric types to supply power to the machines. This facility is where newcomers are placed, in order to toughen them up, regardless of their type. This has worked so far to maintain a strong discipline for the Hylics.
Facility 2 - Grass, Bug, Poison, Fairy, Ground and Water types are the most common here. This facility is the only one that reaches above ground, and is primarily used for growing food and berries for the whole of the Lasvion Region. The conditions are kept ideal for flora to flourish, and the different Pokemon types can easily work together to maintain the perfect balance.
Facility 3 - This facility is the one deepest beneath the surface, hosting mostly Fire, Rock, Ground, Steel, Dark, and Dragon-types. The facility is used for harvesting minerals, ores and gems for a multitude of reasons. Whether it be for jewelry, construction or for use in their latest technology, Sanctic will find a good use for anything they find here. They are constantly expanding the facility deeper into the crust, trying to find the rarest of minerals.
Facility 4 - This facility houses mostly Water and Ice-type Pokemon. An underground stream from the ocean is connected to this facility. The Water and Ice types work together to filter and purify the water, and sometimes Fire-types are brought in to distill the water for various experiments.
Facility 5 - The last facility is primarily there for paperwork, and the more "business" related stuff. Typically Psychic-types, Pokemon that display high affinity for Psychic-type abilities (Ninetales, for instance), or those who are humanoid get into this facility. Hylics here are treated better as a whole and more respected than the others, due to being considered more "human' than the rest. As well as the fact that they can often communicate with humans using telepathy. Trusted Hylics are even sent to watch over other facilities and report who needs the most discipline, as well as how to improve relations with the prisoners.
The Dark Facility - This facility is lesser known, especially by the Hylics. Here is where the more nefarious deeds are done, and the pain generators for the control crystals are created. Only those who completely defy the Sanctic Crusaders are sent here. A lot of these tend to be Dark-types. Extremely grueling torture is done to those who don't obey here, and pleasure receptors within the control crystals are completely removed. No Hylic has ever been able to get out, and most simply die after they can no longer stand the suffering and pain.
Cities
St. Faspiliere City
The City of the Elect
The grand city of Lasvion and her crown jewel. Split into four numbered sectors. (Sector 1, Sector 2, Sector 3, and Sector 4)
Extremely beautiful and decorated by many types of flora in its streets. This is the main headquarters for its government, the Sanctic religion. It is also the largest city in Lasvion and sports the majority of its population. Other cities are characterized by much smaller, more casual populations. This city is continually growing and for many years has devoured many smaller cities that used to exist in Lasvion. This leaves Faspiliere with a distinct divide from the rest of the region, which creates tension between the people. Often, those who dwell in other cities see people as being from here as big city dwellers who are pretentious and want to assimilate everything into their way of life, whilst the dwellers of the city look down on the other cities as being outdated and superfluous, thinking it is a matter of time before all of Lasvion becomes one united city.
For stronger believers in the actual lore of Sanctic, however, Faspiliere serves as a vital location due to the Museum of the Elect. This Museum has many artifacts that chronicle Sanctic's past, including the much revered necklace that was said to have been worn by the Goddess Norea herself. The necklace is known as The Thought of Norea.
In the heart of St. Faspiliere is a place known as the Final Stand. This area is largely left barren and devoid of settlements as tribute to the important religion-founding events that took place here. It is said to be the place where Norea wiped out the Pokemon trainers once and for all.
Sports a population a huge variety of type specialists. However, its main specialists are Fire, Electric, Steel, and Psychic.
___________
Oarenin Town
The Town of the Downtrodden
A city extremely close to St. Faspiliere, and really just seen as an extension of it. Considered an unofficial "Fifth Sector" by some. Its people are generally more downtrodden than dwellers of its sister city, and so it is also called the "Poor Man's Faspiliere." It has a more casual, laidback attitude than the grand city, due to the fact that those who are considered unworthy (people who commit minor crimes) of living in Faspiliere are expelled into Oarenin. Essentially, it serves as a haven for second-class St. Faspiliere citizens.
Is populated mainly by more common forms of type specialists - such as Normal and Fighting.
Pleroma Town
The Town of Fulfilling Light
A city with a higher elevation than most of the region, being mountainous and often being covered in a whitish fog that gives it the appearance of being bathed in heavenly light. Those who live within Pleroma are known mostly for having an immense can-do spirit. This is because the government uses Pleroma primarily to breed engineers and scientists through their advanced Eugenics programs. This is where goals are accomplished and objectives are fulfilled.
Is populated mainly by Psychic, Ground, Rock, and Steel specialists.
Kernoma Village
The Village of the Abyss
Kernoma is the smallest human settlement in all of Lasvion, and is empty and sparsely-populated. That coupled by the fact that it also shares Pleroma's fogginess has led to the nickname "The Village of the Abyss." Its people generally keep to themselves and don't really associate very much with the other parts of Lasvion. Kernoma is basically a village for a fringe sect of Sanctic monks, which emphasize spiritual fulfillment and the rejection of worldly possessions. The villagers often spend their days in silence, meditating and receiving religious visions.
Is populated almost exclusively by Ghost specialists. Whilst the Village is kept under watch by the Sanctic government and regulated, these regulations are more lax when it comes to Kernoma because of how peaceful its people. Kernoma is primarily where the government observes and collects information on the usage of Ghost-type energy as well.
Sophia Town
The Town of Willful Whispers
A small resort town that has been around since the beginning of the Region, long before the rule of Sanctic. Was once to be closed by the religion's leaders, but the overpowering will of the people convinced them to keep it open. It is rumored that some of Lasvion's darkest secrets can be found beneath Sophia's sands. Sophia is a nesting ground for Sanctic resistance groups, some of whom have begun illegal excavations to see what lies underground.
Has the largest concentration of Dark-type specialists. Also primarily populated with Water and Ground-type users.
