Seeds of Tomorrow
"Welcome to Camp Floaroma, located just on the outskirts of peaceful Floaroma Town overlooking the beautiful Floaroma Meadow. It is here among this gorgeous scenery that, like the flowers surrounding you, you will have a chance to grow, overcoming the obstacles of your past that would otherwise keep you down.
Over the next few months, you will have access to our various facilities and be involved in our Social Rehabilitation Program. You will be provided with education tailored to your needs, regular therapy and fun social programmes that will, of course, culminate in you, along with your assigned group, undertaking your very own Pokemon journey alongside a carefully selected starter Pokemon."
-Dr Cygnus Hickory
That was three months ago, when you received your acceptance letter and were entered into Camp Floaroma, a special programme designed to help troubled youths come to terms with their pasts and begin looking forward to the future.
Along with the other members of your assigned group, allocated the fun little moniker "Team Fruit Punch", you've been through a difficult several months. It's been a hard road full of uncomfortable speeches, dorky group activities and excruciating therapy sessions, but, a few weeks ago, you of Team Fruit Punch finally received your very own starters and were signed off to begin your journey together.
This is where our story begins, as you and the rest of Team Fruit Punch take your first steps out of the camp and back into the world beyond. You may have earned permission to begin your journey, but you still have a long way to go.
Seeds is designed for a group of 3-4 players, the idea being that a smaller group will allow us to really explore each character individually and as a group. As such, it is essential that the people joining can guarantee that they will be able to reliably participate both in RPing and in OOC planning. I'm not setting a mandatory deadline on when posts will be due, because SoT will certainly be very JP heavy, but there is a soft goal of a post per week.
The upside to this, is that you have a lot of freedom within the RP. There is no set route or end goal. You'll plan your destinations as you go and I'll build the story around the path you take and the actions you make. The only thing set in stone is your starting point.
In keeping with this, you as the player will also not be choosing your own starter. As one of the perks of not participating, instead I will be taking on the role of the camp staff here and will be determining what starter you begin with based on your SU.
Similarly, I will not be posting a list of the available Pokemon in each location. What you encounter is at your discretion, just make sure it makes sense for it to be there. There's bound to be a reasonably wide distribution of types and the like in a given area, but I don't think there's going to be a lot of Water or Grass types in Stark Mountain or Fire types on the ocean. Similarly, there are obviously no Alolan or Galarian forms naturally present in Sinnoh. No gen 8 mon are available to you either until after the games have come out and their information is readily available online.
2. This RP has an M rating. Embrace it but don't abuse it. We're not here for a 100% edge fest at every moment.
3. As mentioned earlier, it is absolutely essential that if you're joining this, you really are able to commit. This is meant to be tight-knit and character driven and that doesn't work if someone randomly disappears for two months without saying anything.
4. Communication OOC is also very important. Both with me and each other.
5. Have fun or I'll remove your skeleton via your ear canal.

The Roleplay
Seeds of Tomorrow is the spiritual successor to Cracks: A Sinnoh Story. It is an extremely character-driven, heavy sandbox roleplay based off of the origin story the cast of Cracks created for themselves at the onset of the RP, before real life reared its ugly head and brought about its untimely death.Seeds is designed for a group of 3-4 players, the idea being that a smaller group will allow us to really explore each character individually and as a group. Starter Selection
Unlike most journey RPs, your character doesn't begin with a selection of starters to choose from, or have free reign to start with anything. Rather, staff at Camp Floaroma have been carefully evaluating you during your time there and have carefully selected a starter for you that they believe is suited to your journey and/or recovery process in some way.In keeping with this, you as the player will also not be choosing your own starter. As one of the perks of not participating, instead I will be taking on the role of the camp staff here and will be determining what starter you begin with based on your SU.
Noticeboards
Every Pokemon Centre comes equipped with a noticeboard. These are regularly updated with various advertisements, job opportunities and battle requests. Essentially this is an optional mission/prompt system. There is no requirement to ever take a single pathway from those presented in mission board posts. Similarly, there is also no actual money system as an RP mechanic. Consider though, that even if you never actively RP anything from the noticeboards, your characters could have been doing so "off-screen" to pay for supplies and the like.Scale
Sinnoh has been scaled up from the games to feel more like a world. Towns and cities are no longer a quick stroll away from each other and it can take hours or even days to get from one place to another IC. That being said, while I want to see you playing out some of this time between destinations, I don't expect you to come up with something interesting for each day between point A and point B. We can skip past some of the travel and just assume it took place. The only rule here is that nothing significant can occur "off-screen" - no major character moments, catches evolutions etc.Moves, Evolution and Captures
While you don't have any control over what you get for your starter, you have total control of the rest. You can have a Pokemon learn a new move or evolve at any time, or add a new Pokemon to your party whenever you decide to capture one. Just make sure you get me to sign off on it first so I can keep a handle on the pacing.Similarly, I will not be posting a list of the available Pokemon in each location.
