Nintendo Direct - 21 June

I question why precedent keeps getting reset and Pokemon appeared in this one. Might as well retire the Pokemon Presents now I guess. Or not. idk.

I don't really care either way. Really enjoyable show honestly. Had a lot of stuff I likely won't buy but it was enjoyable and that's all that really matters.

Pokemon Ace Attorney is back though so all of my yes.

I'm excited that they are re-making the Super Mario RPG. I had a feeling they were going to do so since it was mysteriously not included in the NSO SNES games. I never had a SNES, and only briefly played that game on an emulator, so I'm looking forward to that. I would have been much happier with a Paper Mario game going back to the original RPG system, but I guess that's not happening any time soon.

I was surprised by how many games I liked in this Direct. It started slow and bad with the Pokémon SV DLC, but got instantly better, when Detective Pikachu was revealed. It made me realize that I never actually finished the original 3DS game. I should probably get back to it soon.

I've never played Super Mario RPG, but I'm interested in trying it. It looks so different from the classic Mario experience. On the same note, I think Peach's game might be worth trying. Lugi's Mansion only reminded me that I still haven't played the third one on Switch. I have previous entries on the 3DS, so I probably won't buy this remake/remaster. Super Mario Bros. Wonder might be interesting. I'm not sure why, but it looked a little bit off from classic Super Mario Bros., but it made it more interesting for me.

And this actually managed to make me look forward to Pikmin 4. I have no experience with the series, but would like to try it.

I was honestly quite happy with the Direct, especially all the Mario announcements and some footage from the new SV DLC was nice to see. And when they were showing off Super Mario RPG remake I thought at first it was just coming to SNES Online but that very quickly changed when it showed the new graphics and whatnot a few seconds in. Super Mario Bros Wonder seems like an interesting concept too, though I'm not sure if it's perhaps too gimmicky? Guess I'll find out in time, though it seems like a very fun game that doesn't take itself too seriously.
