[Sorry in advance for breaking the flow of conversation]
Recently, I learned that the Slateport City Theme sounds very...odd when listened to via a computer(likely because of the difference between comp speakers and the GBA speaker)... And the fact that the tune actually has bonus Japanese lyrics is even weirder...but cool. :)
And, as a side-note, that case involving the Men At Work band, Down Under, & 'Kookaburra' is stupid. I heard it on the radio and the news and the two songs sound nothing alike in the "controversial" riff, except for the fact that they utilize flutes in different ways. There's only so many beats you can make until melodies start sounding similar... As another poster wisely said, anything with a beat is basically plagiarizing the drummers/musicians of the Stone Age.
Sheesh...it's like you use two notes/bars from a song you like and the next thing you know, it's like you've committed murder... This music copyright-plagiarism thing is starting to get out of hand...
And now my oddly-placed rant is done.
