Español es una mezcla de dialectos gálicos, vándalos, árabes, gaélicos, romanos, y alemán, as�* que no es ninguna maravilla que pienso como este.

I find Portuguese to be an odd language when compared with Spanish.
 
It's surprising how many offshoots of Spanish still exist, actually, especially in Spain itself...there's Catalan, Castilian, Basque, and many others. Although it doesn't appear to be so on the surface, Spain is one of the world's more linguistically-divided countries. The people don't integrate into traditional Spanish because they consider it a matter of regional pride.

Actually, the Basque language is an isolate, completely unrelated to any known Spanish dialect.
