Real Life Name: Varagarv Luslec
In-game name: Varagarv (Yeah, he's the guy who uses his name in games)
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Country: Originally from Armenia, but resides in the United States
Status: Player (with the potential to become a PKer)
Appearance:
Personality: Varagarv is a very simple man. He does what he wants to do, regardless of what someone else thinks. If he wants to make money then he'll make money. If he wants to kill some bosses by his lonesome then he'll do that as well. Overall he just doesn't care about anything but himself.
One of his greatest motivations is comparing his strength to those considered strong, which is why he is part of the PK hunting guild, Hallow's Eve. One could easily say he has a death wish, because he's always challenging groups and high level enemies. This part of him is what promoted him to be one of the first level 16 players in SAO, and why he'll probably remain one of the strongest mercenaries to play the game, as long as he lives, of course.
Even though he displays a lot of arrogance and selfishness in his actions it doesn't mean he doesn't work well in a team. His pursuit of excellence and challenge also spills over to his approach to teamwork, and, if his allies are willing, he will develop intricate strategies based around timing and the delicate use of situational strengths. One of his favorite strategies often involves pairing his overwhelming strength with someone of unparalleled speed. He finds that the mix-up between abilities creates havoc for both monsters and players alike.
His speaking style gives very little to be enjoyed. Often preferring to remain blunt and dry, he rarely uses tact or sarcasm. If you would rather be treated with courtesy then Varagarv is a man to be avoided. Regardless of whom a person is he will treat them equally, even if they could be considered above him in social standing. For the most part, though, this only affects how he talks. His actions towards someone he respects or finds strong often overshadow his actions to someone of lesser status in his eyes.
History:
Growing up Varagarv had a pretty good childhood. His homeland of Armenia was a growing economic power and they had finally started to enjoy their rediscovered freedom. Varagarv's family wasn't particularly impressive. His dad was a carpenter and his mother and grandmother stayed at home to manage the household. They weren't poor, but couldn't be considered wealthy either. Truly a middle-class family if there ever was one. Everything changed when Varagarv turned fifteen. At that point Armenia was quickly becoming a new hub for the Taliban, a terrorist group that had been located in the neighboring country of Iran. Crime rates started to increase and the once peaceful country was becoming worse and worse to live in. Some of their family had fled to the United States during Artsakh Liberation War, and although the U.S. wasn't the most ideal place for them to live in they could find shelter. They fled the country as their family members before them had done, only to arrive in America in a pitiful state. Their financial situation was much worse, as their money paled in comparison to the American dollar and their psyche shattered. At first Varagarv was overwhelmed by how different the world around him was, but eventually he became enamored with it. The vast amounts of technology drove the youth to an addiction-like obsession. Eventually his obsession led him to SAO.
While in SAO his path was arduous. He found the idea of being trapped in the game disheartening at first, but quickly got used to it. Eventually he even stopped caring about escaping, because here he could do whatever he wanted to, something that he never could do before. His newfound selfishness made him want to be stronger than everyone, even to the point of grinding hours among hours. People took notice of him, and that's when Hallow's Eve came calling. They promised him that if he did what they asked, he could easily become one of the strongest players in the game. He took the bait and soon began working for them. They'd ask him to take on extremely dangerous missions that they had little faith in accomplishing, but one by one he succeeded in these missions. Soon after he reached level 16 he received a special request from a particularly private individual. His guild wouldn't reveal the client's name, only that the person he was supposed to hunt down was called Nirvana. That leads him to where he is now, on the hunt for one of the most hated player killers in SAO.
Skills:
- One Handed Straight Sword
- Battle Healing
- Tracking
- Sprint
Sword arts:
Slayer of Yama: Varagarv raises his sword over his head at which point it begins to glow a deep blood red. Almost as quickly as he raised the blade he slams it into the ground. This sword art does a significant amount of damage, and can easily kill a player near the same level with only two or three hits. The attack has both a slow recovery animation and slow cooldown, which makes it just as dangerous for the user as it is for the opponent.
Shinsoo Break: Unlike traditional sword arts this one has a requirement for it to be used (the opponent must be able to parry). The user holds their weapon a bit to the side/diagonally outwards, similarly as a gladius, which makes the blade turn black. After the aura is formed the user strikes at their opponent, regardless of whether they attempt to block an AoE shockwave is sent out once the attack makes contact disabling the <Parry> ability in area for a couple of minutes.
