Assurance is okay, its too bad that Umby doesnt have a good strong dark attack. It could do with Crunch, but that probably wont happen.

Yes, but as we are discussing 4th gen, Crunch lowers def now, instead of SpDef. Also, Crunch is a physical move, and Dark Pulse special. With a natural Umby usually having its Attack stat higher than SpAtk, it would be a bit better having Crunch > Dark Pulse.

Well.. that's your opinion, you're perfectly entitled to think that way. I prefer Flinch Hax > Stat reduction. and Prefer s.atk > atk (solely becasue it better fits my team build.)

It's base atk stat is 5 higher than its base s.atk stat.
6 of my 10 umbreons have a higher s.atk than they do atk.

but yeah. most of its offensive moves are now are categorized as physical attacks- -\\ which really ticks me off.

I came to that conclusion because Umby's Attack is actually slightly higher normally. Unless you've actually EV trained and have the right nature etc, it would be a slightly better choice with Crunch in D/P. But I see what you mean by Flinch > Stat. It really depends on how your team is built up.

Fair enough, it varies.

Cosmic Power would be a nice addition to its movepool. Umby would be much stronger in a way.
