If they are in the same animal group that doesnt make them bug :/
Bugs and crabs are something completely different, they are just a part of the animal group called arthropods in which we distinct crabs and insects. So that makes them not-bug. I hope that answers a bit too :D

Arent omanyte and omastar extinct sea-snails, does pokedex say they are bugs? i dont remember hearing/seeing that :S

True, but then ve should "kick out" Paras and Parasect as they ARE crabs..., Game-freak gave them Bug type anyway. See where I'm going with this? Besides, this disagreement is the reason for which we+ll have a poll!
Also, how do you see Omanyte and Omastar as sea snails?! They're Cephalopods!

Yeah, sorry about that, it was a typo! I ment that we'll vote about Kabuto and Kabutops! Omanyte and Omastar definetly aren't bugs!

paras and parasect arent crabs lol theyre sometype of bug, ill find it then post it.
And omynyte is a snail :S wahddya mean its not ("morski puži" on croatian ;))

EDIT: parasect is a mix between a species of cicada(bug) and a mushroom(poison) not crabs :/

No, I was just saying they should be added. Lol; sorry for the caps.
And, NOOO PParas and Parasect are bug types because of gamefreak. Therefore they are automatically on the list.

Lets make it this. All pokemon that have the bug typing are safe while others who look like bug types but aren't classified as bugs by thier typing should be debated and voted upon.

Kabuto and Kabutops might be bug, sure.
Kingler and corphish arent bugs at all, theyre crabs, which do not connect to bugs.
And i think vibrava and trapinch could classify as bugs too.
 
You can't be Dissing my Paras and Parasect, Did you know that some species of insects like ants can be covered with spores! And they eventually have mushrooms growing on their backs! Yes it does eventually harm them but I think its cool that an insect and plant can combine.

That thing isnt a bug :/ xD and as for parasect and paras is mainly made to be a parasitic fungus, and was given a bug lower body. Because it has those kind of legs and pincers it doesnt mean its a crab :/ e.g. scorpions, they arent crabs for sure.

But anyways, i was telling that parasect is based of a bug, but drago think it is a crab because it has pincers :S

We'll have out poll, and then we'll democraticly decide who is and who isn't a Bug Pokemon!

personally i think xvenomx has a good point, paras and parasect could be bugs that have had spores grown on them.
i don't know to much about all that science, i havent learned all that yet.
this is a list of what i think:

Paras and Parasect are bug types because of thier classification by gamefreak ne? What some of you are saying is that based on it's appearance it's not a bug type. Remember Pokemon are mythical creatures from a GAME. The GAME says Paras and Parasect are bug types therefore they are! Because this is a GAME made up of MYTHICAL creatures the outside world may have some connections but what dominates is the fact that its mythical and what gamefreak have decided.

For those who didn't understand my other post:
What I am saying here is that all the pokemon that are classified as bug types by gamefreak should be safe and the ones who aren't but look like or sound like or act like bug pokemon should be voted upon.

^^ exactly.
Sry drago, but its jsut that you presume that parasect is a crab just because it has pincers, but a lot of bugs have pincers.
And parasect is.. yeah a bug in symbiosis with a fungus.
Im just saying this, because it is wrong to assume that kingler or corphish are bugs, because crabs and bugs are 2 different things (oh and democracy fails xP)
