‘I’m a monster’

^ This. This right here is where I'm getting at. If someone wants to die, let them die. It's their choice. I don't care if you think "well their biology made them do it not themselves" - that's ridiculous. No human can be defined by any other human - period. As an individualist, I believe a single person can only be defined by themselves, not anyone else. Like the idea that someone is "insane" and putting them in an asylum against their will - it's BS and should not exist. If someone wants to die, let them die. No human has the right, I don't care what their reasoning, to go against the will of another.

Not so fast. People have different states of mind. It's heartbreaking to see a person who was full of life descend into despair, saying and believing things they never would have. And then what do we say - we don't have a right to help them? when their will has been consumed by feelings they have lost control over?

There are nuances to choice and free will that you are glossing over - which is unexpected for a person who holds them in such high regard. When they make such a decision are they truly free? do they truly have the choice? Can people really define themselves better than another person all of the time?

Hmmm... I did go a bit overboard...

If the people want help, like the girl/guy in the discussion did, then help them. No one did so they made a decision fully on their own.

The majority of people that have changed due to certain circumstances WANT to be helped but, receiving no working solutions, they make a decision all their own. To stop them after they have found their own solution that, to them, works - that is wrong, i believe.

Whelp, whelp, whelp, don't mistake respecting a person's decision with up and abandoning them.
Me? I couldn't live with myself if I didn't try my damnedest to help a friend in need, but if even still after everything they still want to kill themself then that's their choice.

Still think the parents are bogus, koff~

Instead of killing themselves, they should have gone after the parents instead. Pfft. I'd love to have a baby girl. I can't stand boys. Boys seem to annoy the hell out of me. Besides, I could be a killer dad. Err, figuratively. Boys is messy business. Besides, I'd like to break the family curse anyway.

Regardless of my future plans or wishes, I think this person should have given it one last go at least. Sorry no one helped them, koffi~
