Yes it can, and pretty horrificly. Flamethrower is better for longer battles.

I have, Heat wave still isnt as good as Flamethrower but it looks cool.
 
heat wave is better than flame thrower

Flamethrower has 95 attack points and heat wave has 100
 
Overall Flamethrower is still better because Heat Wave only has 90 accuracy meanwhile Flamethrower, 100. Its better off to lose that 5 extra power and go for the 10 extra accuracy.
 
Alex is right CBM, you're better off with better accuracy then power. What good is power if you can't use it?

Heatwave is actually a very good move. For the arugement about it earlier (too lazy to multi-quote) I actually use Heatwave a lot and it rarely misses for me. Either I'm very lucky or it doesn't miss as much as it should. Flamethrower still misses more for me than Heatwave, so both are quite even. I mean, Heatwave has a bit more power, and less accuracy, but Flamethrower has less power, but more accuracy. Both are very good. X3

What are the strongest attacks that each of the three can use?
Vaporeon: Surf/Water Pulse/Hydro Pump
Jolteon: Thunderbolt/Thunder
Flareon: Flamethrower/Fire Blast/Overheat

I should probably explain myself here.
Surf, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower: For longer battles where PP and Accuracy is crucial.
Water Pulse: The Confusion effect can cause some extra damage per turn, plus help Vaporeon avoid damage.
Hydro Pump, Thunder, Fire Blast, Overheat: For short battles where you can afford the lack of Accuracy and PP, just to finish the battle shortly after it begins.
 
Interesting enough a cousin of mine calculated the modified power/PP pt used and found that despite Fire Blast's 85% accuratcy, Fire Blast still inflicts more damage per round on average(His formula was simple, Power of move/[Accuracy of move/100]. Of course I still use Flamethrower as it is the best combination of strength, reliability and lastability for battles.
 
oh, sry alex, i didnt know it just had 90 accuracy, but your right, overall, flamethrower is better
 
Fire blast does make alot of mistakes..but yeah flamethrower ish sure bettzor.

Come up with a proper nickname for a pet Jolteon, Flareon or Vaporeon.
 
Jolteon: Spark
Flareon: Natsu
Vaporeon: Ezra

O_o Random, I know... Spark is just the first thing that came to my head when I was thinking of a nickname for Jolteon. Natsu is a fire mage from the manga Fairy Tail, and Ezra is the ice terrenial (basically a creature that represents the element of ice) in the game Lunar Knights.

Interesting, last time I checked, I think natsu is Japanese for fire, so yeah. I'm no good with nicknames, so...
Vaporeon: Myst
Jolteon: Raiju
Flareon: Booster

Myst is mist spelt with a 'y', Raiju is the name of the Japanese thunder beast and Booster is Flareon's Japanese name. I'm not very creative, in case you haven't noticed.

I just want to call them Flary, Jolty and Vappy XDD

^ Natsu means summer.
 
Well..I would call them what I'd want to..but uh nvm that.
