Which family do you prefer Koffing or Ekans?
I think this should be a no-brainer for everyone but i like Ekans and Arbok more. It's actually not that easy to decide though as I do love Koffing and Weezing. I just prefer the designs of the snakes slightly more, I've always liked snakes as animals so that was it really. However I can't disagree that Weezing is the superior battler, it has better stats and natural movepool (Although I think Arbok has a better TM movepool).
Basically if I wanted a pet or a friend or even a mascot Pokemon it'll be Arbok but during a really serious battle Weezing is the better choice.
I felt that Koffing/Weezing's main rivals as pokemon were more Grimer and Muk due to their more similar bulk and being found in close proximity to one another.

EDIT: just to point out at the front page we've got an awesome pic of Koffing but underneath it still says Swalot is our featured pokemon

This is a pretty easy choice to make for me.

Scolipede
Roserade
Garbodor
Swalot
Muk
Amoonguss

Amoonguss would be the strongest, my shining star. With Muk, Swalot and Garbodor all being the same level as each other as these three are closely linked Pokémon, slightly lower then Amoongus. Then Scolipede and Roserade would share an again slightly lower level, making the two weaker Pokemon of the team. :3 I'm kinda upset that there's no room for Weezing on my team as I absolutely adore shiny Weezing, but he doesn't really seem to fit in much haha.

btw I was not the one who came up with the question Its an old question I wanted to answer.

I guess its because I love them Pokemon. And Tentacruel can be useful against ground types and Drapion is good against Psychic types.

Oh wow, I didn't even think about that whilst making my team xD I forgot about Poison's weaknesses so yeah I agree, Tentacruel and Drapion are brilliant choices for the reasons you said. I'm disappointed at the lack of Swalot and Garbodor though D; Those are staple Poison types imo, they're all basically just forms of Muk, the original Poison type beast xD

I notice that no one chose to use Venomoth despite it being a very good Pokémon in the current metagame, why is that I wonder? :3 I personally love Venomoth but it just didn't cross my mind lmao, I'd probably replace Scolipede with it. Although Scolipede is one of those epic looking Pokémon that'd really intimidate the opponent whereas a moth... isn't. xD So it's a hard choice ;; Being an E4 member isn't just about show, you also need presentation!

As far as battling I've always like that "suprise factor" trait that most of them have, or otherwise just being good at what they do best. My favorite thing about the poison type is the quirks and variety givin to them based on their descriptions, designs, and most of their anime depictions (personalities, roles, etc.) that give them their own layer of depth, occasional and humor. Examples: Ash's Muk <3, Brock's Croagunk, Gengar line trio at the tower of terror, Ash's bulbasaur (as well as others I mention by name).

Yeah, I have to say my ideas are so interesting.

Roserade is my fave Poison Pokemon thanks to its high Special Attack stat, and it's also among my fave Grass-types too. I've used one on almost all of my D/P/Pt playthroughs and it was a total powerhouse.

The Nidoking/queen duo always work well together so I had to include them. Crobat has access to good attacks like Cross Poison and Acrobatics which hit hard, Vileplume cos it's my fave Gen I Poison Pokemon and Skuntank for its interesting type combo and I seem to like the look of skunks in general.

Oh, and welcome to the club Ralaia! So, why pick Grimer as a partner?

Hi dude, welcome to the club! Grimer is my all-time favourite Poison Pokémon so great choice there, very pleased with that :D What made you choose it over the other Poison types? And how come you like Poison type Pokémon enough to join a fan club about them? c: Also your team that you chose is very interesting but I'd love to hear why you chose them - especially Nidoqueen! Want to explain? :D

They do? I had no idea about that, how come? I can't really think of any way they complement each other bar being very closely related with their species xD Although that is a pretty cool reason to use them anyway! I just can't see them being that useful on a team, especially an Elite Four team or something xD They just don't really have the move sets or stats to back them up against most enemies :(

Vileplume cos it's my fave Gen I Poison Pokemon.

Oo interesting, how come? :D Vileplume has always been a favourite of mine too, it's such an interesting Pokémon and really fun to use. It's just a shame that it's stats aren't a little better or it'd be such a fun Pokémon in a competitive team, it's move pool is very devious and tricky!

Wow thanks! Well uhh Muk is my favorite poison type for a few reasons; It was the first one i stopped to catch in fire red and it did so well, especially in the E4. Secondly I like the sort of tranquil quality of muk seing as they are extreemly poisonous and hazardous to evrything around them, they choose to willingly keep their toxicity under control as to not be a menace to everything around them. Lastly I love its portyrayal in the anime as shown in its unique battling style and how hes mostly immune to physical attacks (ash's muk vs bellspout/scizor/blastoise), not only that but how he went from a big and macho leader of grimers to a big pal to everyone once he was caught. Thats how i envisioned my Muk and I would be, except on a greater scale.

*ahem* Well, as for my team its really a modified version of my actual competitive mono poison team to add in a couple of my more favored poison types such as Muk(and drapion). In their places would be ammongus and weezing, although both Muk and Drapion are completely and very much so viable its alot harder to bring out their full power theese days every new gen. Anyway scolipede is a a very fast lead that uses swords dance and fires off giganticearthquakes and megahorns even further boosted by swarm(also protected by focus sash). He can baton pass boosts to any physical attacker teammate if need. Amoongus and Weezing are excellent defensive beasts that can take many hits and subdue potential threats with their disruptive abillities. Gengar, the bread on butter pokemon of the team can come in and elimate alot of things that could cause trouble via sheer power or a destiny bond(suprise factor). Drapion is for those pesky psychic types. Muk's role would be a mid game supporter and sporting the powerful Gunk Shot and a supporting last ditch move in Memento(suprise factor) or he can go the curse set and attempt to sweep(sorta). I'm also lovin that buff Muk got in Minimize increasing evasion now TWO stages! :P

I'd go for a raindance boast out of the two, skuntank would be my main fire user so I'd just keep him out of it until the weather wears off. Problem with a sunny day powered Victreebel is how any fire move would cause real problems.

I wouldn't call it cheating. Poison on it's own isn't actually that diverse of a type, it only really caters to a pretty specific set of opponents. It's the unique skills and abilities that it brings to the table when combined with a secondary type that makes me love them so much, they can turn any type of Pokémon into something crafty and kick-ass :D That's not to say mono-type Poison Pokémon are bad, there are certainly some incredibly strong ones such as Muk and Weezing, but I think it definitely is a type that's better off supporting a second typing.

Agreed. Poison teams have the potential to take on any type because of the their supreme diversity. Even if you were to have no pure poison types, its all good cuz your still using poison ;).

Aren't you excited? I sure am! It's time for our very own Toxic club exclusive event, so get ready to be awesome and let your passion shine! This event caters for everyone from artists to writers, battlers to composers, and anyone else - all you need is a Pokémon that you love and a reason for loving them. So without further adieu, this is what's happening:

What's going on?
The idea of the event is very simple - all you have to do is pick your favourite Poison type Pokémon and display it in the light that you see it; however, it's completely up to you how you wish to interpret this brief. We all have reasons for having one Pokémon as our favourite, so now's the time to showcase those reasons. If you're an artist then you could draw a picture showing the Pokémon's unique trait that makes you love it; if you're a poet then you could write a poem detailing it's unique trait in action and why that makes it such a great Pokémon; if you're a battler then you could devise a move set showing off it's uniqueness and showing why people should use it; if you're a composer then write a song about the Pokémon; if you're a photographer then take pictures showcasing the Pokémon; the possibilities are endless! You can produce absolutely anything you want no matter how creative or uncreative, it can even just be a mini-essay submission if you really can't think of anything else, so no excuses for not taking part. n.n

How do I enter?
Simply send your entry to me in a PM and post saying that you've entered just so I know I haven't missed anyone, and I'll confirm your entry once I receive it. Message me if you have any questions regarding the event and hopefully we'll be overflowing with entrants in no time! As for the deadline, that'll be announced at a later date. :)

I'm actually really curious what Pokémon people are going to choose for the contest. I know a lot of people don't choose their favourite Pokémon as their partner when signing up for a club so I'm hoping some weird ones will come up! The thing I love about Poison types is that most of the Pokémon do have some really interesting traits/quirks about them which is what makes it such a cool and diverse type, so I'm hoping the submissions should reflect this well. :D Expecting a lot of Muks, Grimers, Arboks, Drapions, Roserades... Haha i'd expect so. And to my surprise not that many people partnered with what I thought would be the more common poison types like the Nidos, Drapion, Scolipede, etc. I'd take that as a good sign :). Also I beleive we have one garbodor in the club.
