IC Thread

Story:
Thousands of years ago an ancient civilization called the Mayans predicted the world would start to end on the 21st day of the 12th month in the year 2012 AD. In this prediction they said that the dead would start to rise again, turning others into one of them and thus bringing about the end of the world, though it also stated that after time passed the undead themselves would perish as well. Though this civilization died out this prediction was found in the future by scientists who didn't believe it. They thought it was foolish and instead of studying the prediction they focused on researching Pokemon and creating new tools and gadgets for their trainers. This choice was a mistake. A huge mistake that could never be changed.

On 12/21/12 the world fell to the apocalypse. There are still survivors who have no idea why this is happening. Why humans and Pokemon alike were turning into undead monsters.

Plot:
You are a surviving Pokemon trainer, you and one of your Pokemon have survived the first few weeks of the end of the world. All of you are part of a group with the surviving scientist who knows about the ancient civilizations prediction that has come to pass. The goal is to survive until the undead perish. The thing is no one knows how long that is going to take. Keep in mind you are not immortal your character can die. One bite, one scratch and you become infected. If you act quickly then you can amputate and arm or a leg but it must be done within the first 3 minutes before the infection spreads. The question is...can you survive?

Rules:
1. This RP is rated M for blood, gore, and violence. Romance is allowed in small amounts but can not go beyond a K rating.
2. No goddmodding or bunnying
3. If you have a problem with another roleplayer let me know
4. There will be a dice roll when facing zombies, 12 sided dice, 1-4 mean you live. 7-10 means you die, if a 5,6,11,or 12 is rolled that means you are bitten or scratched.
5. Please do not argue with me, if I say your character dies or gets bitten then that's what happened.
6. If your character dies you can make a new one.
7. Please post at least once a week. If you go two weeks without posting you get a warning, if you don't post within two days of the warning your character dies.

Appearance: Jason is taller than average, 6' 3" to be precise, with a thin but wiry frame, like he does a lot of running. His hair is dark brown and kept short, but is usually messy. His eyes are blue, and he wears a pair of black plastic-framed glasses. He wears an orange T-shirt and a black jacket, with brown slacks. He prefers comfortable, practical shoes, and wears a pair of red running shoes. For a bit of style, he wears a black bowler hat, which recently acquired a bite mark on the left side of the brim.

Personality: Jason is a quiet type, rarely speaking more than is necessary. He takes his time, spending as much time as he needs to to ensure his job gets done right. He is always eager to explore or investigate, and keeps active to quiet his always-working brain. He is friendly to others, if quiet, and always willing to lend a hand or an ear to others.

History: Jason was born in Canalave, spending much of his time in the library. As he grew, he went on one journey after another, never staying in one place for too long. His travels took him across Sinnoh, into Johto and even Unova. Since he spent more time traveling than training, he was out in the wilderness when the fated day came. He found he was able to evade the zombies for the most part, and was able to keep them at bay while he escaped if it came to a fight. Realizing he'd never survive on his own, he sought out other survivors.

Remove her right hand, and her clothing is extremely torn and dirty. She is skinny, almost deathly so, and has a certain sadness, like she lost the only person she ever cared about. But she is still very strong and agile, just starving. She ALWAYS has a knife on her, always, no exceptions

Personality: (1 paragraph) Jen is a stubborn, arrogant person. It is obvious that she hates these zombies with all her heart. Though she will not explicitly say such, she is also terrified, having lost her hand and her partner to them. She has a darker side brought out by anger, where she becomes a ruthless, heartless killer. She won't hesitate to kill anyone in her way, even her fellow survivors. She has a very strong will and high tolerance to pain, given what she has already been through. She loves to hurt people, but has toned her sadistic impulses back for survival purposes. The less people she kills the more people she can throw at zombies for her own escape after all.

While she is brash and cocky about her own abilities, she is rather bleak and morose. She loves the air of doom and destruction, and revels in it. At the same time she knows that SHE at least sall survive, though if no one else does she really doesn't care. Her best friend is already gone anyways. She fancies herself a Dark Type Trainer, and she used to be the leader of the Elite Four and was a champion at one point, only adding to her superiority complex. Basically, if you want to rely on her for protection, which even in her current state is a good idea, then you best listen to her, and do n't take anything she says personally.

History: (1 Paragraph) Jen grew up as a street rat with a huge dream, to prove to everyone that Dark Types were the best. She spent her childhood in the library reading about them, waiting to get her pokemon. When she was finally ten she went to the professor and demanded a pokemon, only to leave empty handed when he had no dark types to give her. With that she began wandering until she came across a boy with a zorua egg. She killed him and stole the egg before she even realized what she was doing. She hatched the egg and it was a zorua. She named him Dusk and fell in love instantly. She vowed to protect him and care for him, and use him to accomplish her dream And he accepted this, and the two became partners. After several months Jen had conquered the Elite four and was hailed as a prodigy, and no one ever found out about her dark past. She was a demon in battle, and eventually stepped down, undefeated, if only because she didn't care to run the league. So she went on another journey to find the legendary Darkrai. And after ten years of searching she did. With that she had a collosal battle with it, only to win. But she didn't catch it. She never had, she only wanted to face it.

So she returned and rejoined the E4. Where she remained for the next five years until this crisis began. Right from the start she was fighting back. Her team eventual fell one by one until she was left with Umber, the female zorua, and Dusk, the male zoroark. The two were mates and had an egg, but Umber died shortly afterwards in a brutal battle. Dusk was biten by a zombie, though Jen did not know what to do. After being forced to watch her partner turn into a zombie, she had to fight him next. Dusk clawed her hand in the ensuing battle, and unable to strike a killing blow Jen ran. She soon realized that she was infected now, due to the odd feelings in her hand, and took her knife and removed it, saving her from the fate her partner had suffered. She swore then to protect the zorua that hatched, and live until this was over. She was the last to join the group, and probably the least trusted, but she cares not.

Name: Kaden Ferris

Age: 26

Gender: male

Appearance: Weeks living from day to day without access to such niceties as a shower or deodorant have taken its toll on Kaden. His normally well kept smooth black hair is unpleasantly adorned with dirt, dust, sweat, oil, and maybe just a bit of blood. To keep it up, out of his way, and off his mind he has tied a bandana around his forehead. It is black and red, patterned with dragon-like footprints. Since his hair is normally long enough that it nearly reaches his shoulders, it shows a bit up around the bandana. His eyes are a warm shade of amber that clashes terribly with his personality. His features, however, match. They're sharp and angular, making him look in turn sharp and fierce. His lips are a little thin. They look fuller when he smiles, but that doesn't happen very often anyway--especially not recently. Although he hasn't had the chance to undergo most basic hygiene routines, there is no dirt or grime under his nails. That is because when he's camped out, not able to move, he cleans out from under them with his pocket knife. It's more for something to do than for cleanliness, but he does have to admit, looking at his hands and seeing them less filthy makes him feel less disgusting.

Kaden has lost a bit of weight since society crumbled. He still has some provisions in his backpack--a black canvas bag with silver accents that clasps over one shoulder--but he has rationed them carefully to last as long as possible. Most of the time they can survive off of nonperishable food items at whatever place they're hiding out. But there have been occasions where they were stuck somewhere long enough that they finished the food that was left there, and had to turn to the meager supplies in the backpack. Therefore it is no surprise that about six pounds have been lost from Kaden's body. The clothes that used to fit perfectly are a little loose now. Kaden's dark jeans are held up by a belt that has been moved up a few holes since he first put them on. His dark brown field boots still fit perfectly. They have kept his feet protected and warm. He wears a black t-shirt under a denim vest the same color as his shirt. He used to keep his Pokeballs in it, but now he only has one to keep an eye on.

Personality: If it were at all possible, recent events have made Kaden even more irritable than he's ever been. He's on a hair trigger, and the only ones who are mostly exempt from his temper are his Pokemon. He's gained and lost small groups of people to band with. Whenever the group dissolves, as it of course must, he moves right on. It had been a partnership, nothing more, nothing less. He firmly believes that keeping every relationship on a less than personal level is the only way to ensure survival when in a group like this. It isn't as though he was all that friendly before, but not he especially isn't looking to be BFF's. Kaden is an excellent strategist, which is what has kept him alive so far. He is a natural leader and in group situations he steps to the forefront to try and direct everyone to the best path he can see. He has no patience for opposition, and will resort to force and scare tactics when he has to.

For all of this salt and vinegar personality, Kaden has a real soft spot with his Pokemon. If this were just a human plague he would have done the best thing he could for them and release them into the wild, but fate was not so kind. Still, his efforts were not entirely successful, and one by one most of them were lost to him. He now guards his last remaining partner with his life.

History: Kaden was an only child. As such his parents coveted him, but he still received discipline for his actions. At the age of ten, as is customary, he received his starter and began his League challenge. Since he lived in Kanto his choices were Charmander, Squirtle, or Bulbasaur. Wanting the undeniable cool factor of a fire breathing dragon, he chose Charmander without hesitation. The two went through the Kanto league, picking up other Pokemon along the way. When he reached the Elite Four, he challenged them immediately. The first time he lost. His pride had been bruised from the experience and he receded just enough to train incessantly. Then, a month later, he returned. This time he won, though it was not without struggle. By this time he had already evolved his Charmander completely. His team consisted of his Charizard, Pidgeot, Clefable, Tentacruel, Magneton, and Vileplume.

He was not ready to quit. Johto was his next destination. Much like Kanto, he took the gym circuit. He got as far as Clair, but before he could make it to the Elite Four he decided on a whim to go to Sinnoh for more training and team building opportunities. He excelled there and had quite a bit of fun. His entire team had been switched out and replaced, save for Ember. The Charizard had become his best companion, and his best friend on the road. With a team that Kaden thought was now unstoppable, he began challenging just about anyone who would stand still long enough in Sinnoh. The experience he was receiving in this place so different from his home region was valuable and he thought it was putting him on the track to really excel. Perhaps it would have, if the world had not ended.

At the first sign of undead, Kaden had been out on the road training. It was the most chilling, unsettling moment of his life when he saw the man ambling toward him, dragging a foot by tendons and skin, his jaw slack and eyes empty. Though Kaden didn't know exactly what was going on, he didn't need to know to realize that he needed to run. He recalled all of his Pokemon and ran. He didn't get far before he met another creature. This one was, of all things, a Bidoof. It ogled at him with vacant eyes and began dragging itself in his direction. Again he ran. Desperate for answers, he headed for the nearest city. That was a mistake. Undead already filled the streets, chasing after those so unfortunate to still be alive. The violence and gore Kaden witnessed that day disturbed even him. He turned tail and ran until he was surrounded by wilderness. That was an even worse mistake.

Kaden called all of his Pokemon out for protection. For a while that was okay, and it made it so that Kaden could sneak back toward the city in hopes of finding survivors with an explanation. However, wild Pokemon swarmed them. He lost three Pokemon that day. The loss tore at him deeply, but he couldn't let it stop him. Minor ambushes befell them here and there until finally Ember decided she wouldn't risk Kaden anymore, and so she gripped Arbok, her last partner, in her claws, and bid her master to climb onto her back just ahead of the wings. It wasn't a comfortable position, but it would do. She flew him over the city and landed atop a building that seemed to be empty.

From here Kaden's memories are mostly a blur, but he at least remembers the struggle to stay alive. The Arbok was lost holding the monsters away from Kaden and Ember so that they could escape. Mercifully Kaden remained bite free, though Ember was not so lucky. Trying to defend Kaden, she was bitten on the right wing near the joint. Kaden couldn't lose her. He formed a tourniquet and wrapped it around the joint near her back. In a desperate attempt to save her he amputated the entire wing. She would never fly again, but at least she would continue living. He held the flame on her tail to the wound to cauterize it.

The two are even more careful than they've ever been. Every corner is infested with undead, every person has ulterior motives, and every Pokemon is infected. By this point, they may be just as volatile as any undead.

Personality: Allison is a very caring woman. She'll do whatever she can to help people and to keep people calm in dangerous situations. She will fight to keep others safe, and due to her research on what is happening she will sacrifice herself if needed to make sure that others survive. She does study the undead, wanting to find out what caused this and how long it might last. Her medical knowledge allows her to study the cells of the undead after she kills one. She also is able to treat wounds of all kinds. She also never gets squeamish, which is a much needed thing for this time.

History: Allison was born and raised Pallet town in the Kanto region. From a young age she was into studying Pokemon and medicine. She spent most of her time in Oak's lab and the Pokemon Center learning things from Professor Oak and Nurse Joy. By the time she was 20 years old Allison was trained in medical knowledge, and part of a group of scientists studying the remains of an ancient Civilization in Unova. When they uncovered the end of the world prediction Allison like the other scientists didn't believe it. But unlike her coworkers Allison kept a copy of it. She had no idea why she did. It just felt right. Now five years later she's glad she did. She's gathered a group of fellow survivors to band together.

This sounds great Genevieve! You've never failed to dissapoint, so I'm in. Here's my alpha SU.

Name: Peter Nelson
Age: 27
Gender: Male

Appearance: Peter is roughly 6'10, and he weighs about 200 pounds. He has tannned skin and a lean, muscular body with particularly large leg muscles, due to hours spent swimming in the sea. His face is angular with a thin layer of stubble. Peter has a scar across his face, from midcheek to midcheek, due to a skirmish between his ex-friend and himself. He has no hair, other than the stubble that comes from a complete shave. His apparel consists of a tight, blue muscle shirt, black gym shorts, a small satchel filled with various medical items, and dark green sneakers. His eyes are a deep blueish-green, much like the ocean. He isn't what you would call handsome. Average looking is what you would use to describe him. He has the appearance of a beach bully.

Personality: Peter is a survivor. He always has been. That's why he's alive today. He was never very good in social situations, he was even a bit awkward. When around girls he doesn't talk, and when he does he studders uncontrollably. When around guys, he doesn't say anything unless it needs to be said. Necessity is always first. He may appear like a brute, but at heart he is a gentle giant. Despite the fact that he has the capabilities to take on anybody, he shys away at the first sign of conflict with other human beings. As for zombies, he hates them. The only thing he hates at all, other than brussel sprouts. He hates those too.

History: Peter Nelson was born in Pastoria City. His father and mother had him at a young age, they were both around the age of twenty. His father left when he was eight, so he never had a true father figure. Instead, he took to Crasher Wake. As a child, he would watch everything that the local gym leader did. He truly idolized him. At the age of fifteen, he finally grew brave enough to talk to the Crasher. He feebly asked him if he could be his apprentice. The man just laughed and handed him a pokeball. "Here. This is my teachings." Inside this pokeball was a Wooper. This Wooper became Peter's best friend. It was kinda sad really. Despite this, he trained that Wooper night and day until it eventually evolved into a Quagsire.

After twelve years of training, his team consisted of the Gyarados, a Quagsire, and a Toxicroak. He was a fearsome trainer, but he didn't battle as often as he should've. He could've been a lot stronger, but he preferred to use his pokemon to train his body as well. He would have sparring matches with Toxicroak to strengthen his arms, swim with Medusa to strengthen his legs, and have staring contests with Quagsire to strengthen his focus. All in all, he was anti-social, his only friends his pokemon. He was content to live his life in eternal training. It all ended when the clock struck nine. The infection came and infected Toxicroak easily. He was forced to put his old comrade down. It happened again when Gyarados finally fell. Peter ran from Pastoria to the Lake Valor coast and hopped onto Medusa and the pair surfed to Sunnyshore City. They were scared and homeless. They are still running, trying to find a home.

Personality: Dawn is a easy-going and cheerful type of girl. She is optimistic and determined in everything she does. She is patient, gentle and has good control over her temper and skills and rarely lets them get out of hand. But there are always limits to anyone's cool. So when she gets angry, stuff shatter. Dawn is often elated and happy and dislikes arguments or disputes. She can make many friends due to her pleasant company and out-going personality. She is well-liked by the people she knows, for she is tactful with her words and witty with her comments. She likes joking around, but knows when to be serious. She has a sharp tongue to those she dislikes, but does not speak her mind out to hurt others.

Despite her particularity about her outward appearance, though, Alyssa is actually a very kind person. She is nice and generous and tries to help out the people around her as much as she can. This is mostly done through helping them to get a better outward appearance though, which to some of her friends, makes them feel as if she is a stuck up person.

Alyssa is also very shy and reserved, and rarely makes the first move in speaking to and making friends. This adds to her outer stuck up personality that people who don't know that well find her outwardly intimidating. Alyssa's close friends though, especially those who know her love for Pokemon Contests, know that she is not a stuck up person.

History:
Alyssa's parents were the owners of the Lilicove Shopping Mall, and because of that, they made sure that Alyssa had everything that she wanted. They bought everything that Alyssa wanted for her.

Throughout her time when she was young, Alyssa had slowly developed a love for beauty and Pokemon. This led to her becoming interested in Pokemon Contests, and she was particularly good at them, too, which might mostly be due to the fact that she had access to all of the resources that she required to groom and refine her and her Kirlia, Kelly's, appearance.

As Alyssa grew up, she participated in more and more Pokemon Contests. Her Kirlia had also evolved into a Gardevoir.

In one of her Contests, Alyssa had managed to impress Alex, one of the judges at that Contest. After the contest, the two of them met up and quickly became friends. Soon, both Alyssa and Alex became lovers, and Alex proposed to Alyssa, which she agreed to.

However, that was when disaster struck. Their wedding day was the day of the apocalypse and just before they could exchange their wedding vows, the wedding hall was flooded and overran by the zombies. Alyssa and Alex were thrust apart by the onslaught of zombies. Just before they went out of sight, they promised each other that they would survive and reunite with each other again.
