Woah. They're closing theaters and even libraries? This is serious. Very serious.

I live in Europe (precisely in Italy) also here the worry is as much, to the moment it is said that the victims in Mexico have been so many for the bad Mexican sanitary system, I wish me both effective so, in this way for the rest of the world there would be really little to worry themselves but better being to the alert one.

You have a point...maybe that's why it's so dangerous: because of the bad sanitary system in Mexico. I see. So if you live in an area that's well-enough sanitized, you have almost nothing to worry about.

We've had several cases here in my town. They had a confirmed case at the other high school, and the School Board had a meeting today to determine whether or not to close our schools in the district for a week. Horrible occurrence, but awesome if we do get to get out of school!

It's called WASHING YOUR HANDS. Just that teeny little bit could save you from the virus.

It's come to my state, North Carolina, now too.

^ This. Though people in my community/school don't really seem to be worried about it in the least.

I just hope the president don't announce total shutdown of schools...I don't know about the rest of you but having classes during the summertime isn't my type of learning.

I thought we the people from New Jersey would be safe from the virus but just recently ive seen japs wearing masks in the paths heading to NYC. I also heard my little nephew from Pennsylvania got sick and went to the hospital this last weekend I hope its nothing to serious though...anyone know if the Swine flu has reached PA?

Well I found out they closed all the schools in where I live. Even the colleges. I swear, this is getting ridiculous. As long you stay away from people who are sick and watch your hands, you will be fine. I think the media is blowing this way out of proportion. But yeah I think the schools don't want to deal with lawsuits if a few kids came down with the swine flu.

Yeah you are right about that. That is the sad truth of it all. But hopefully this thing will blow over so everyone can get back to their normal lives.

Totally be awesome. In our whole country, 34 suspected, zero proven. =D

Being girt by sea helps so much. xD

The media is really going bonkers about it though. :\

And just on an off-topic note, what's so weird about summer school? Just because it's not normal where you live... Dang, I go to school all the way up 'til like a week before Christmas, then up 'til a day after my birthday.

There's several people in my state who have it, including a few in the area surrounding where I live, which is starting to make me nervous. I wash my hands like...10-12 times a day now, which is increasing my need for lotion =/ I might be obsessing, but I've always tended to go by 'better safe than sorry.' There's a suspected case in our school, but its not proven, and he's staying home right now.

Philippines and Mexico... Woooh! Sure is far! I'm safe and confident!

Well, let's just hope the Swine Flu will be gone in anyway in no time...

P.S. = Airport Security to the highest limit...

the swine flu did reach more places than these two, dude.

Lol, sure did! The UK have almost 30 confirmed cases, 13 in London. The media is still at full blast, expanding the story way beyong its perimeters. I heard that every household in the UK is getting some leaflet thing today?? The UK sure is taking action. I'm glad that all the countries infected have acted accordingly.

Ummm... yeah the Swine Flu is all around the world now. And, even though it is a little dangerous, it is no more dangerous than the ordinary influenza virus, just more contagious.

EDIT: And China banning the import of Canadian pork is just idiotic... The World Health Organization has already told them that eating the meat of infected pigs won't give you Swine Flu, because of all of the processes they do to the meat already... Just shows how educated the Chinese government is.

LOLZ Zombiez! XD

About the Zombie talk earlier...I couldn't believe my favorite political cartoonist would actually "read" this here thread. XD

Real news:
Flu bans heighten trade tensions

Mexico says it has written to the World Trade Organization (WTO), demanding an explanation from countries which have restricted its imports over swine flu.
Economy Minister Gerardo Ruiz Mateos said such bans lacked a basis in science and would not be permitted.
Among others, Russia and China have banned pork products or pigs from Mexico and other affected countries.
Of 1,490 infections verified in 20 countries, 30 people have died - 29 in Mexico, and one in the US.
The World Health Organization (WHO) is urging nations to remain vigilant, saying a global pandemic still threatens.
It is shipping 2.4 million anti-flu treatments donated by Tamiflu manufacturer Roche to 72 countries "most in need" of them, including Mexico and countries finding it hard to pay to stockpile adequate supplies.
Normal life is beginning to resume in Mexico, with traffic returning to the streets of the capital and some bars reopening.
Schools and universities are set to reopen on Thursday.
In other developments:

  • China extends its ban on pork products to 17 more US states, bringing the total number to 36, reports Reuters news agency
  • Dozens of Mexicans are being flown home from China on a specially-chartered Mexican plane. They are among about 70 Mexicans confined despite just one confirmed case of the virus. The issue sparked a diplomatic row, with Mexico accusing China of targeting its citizens unfairly, and Beijing saying it was a "purely medical" issue
  • The UK is delivering specially-produced leaflets offering advice on swine flu and advice on how to prevent its spread

China is just being insane, there is no way that eating pigs with Swine Flu will give you freakin' Swine Flu. They take care of that while they process it...

These are the same Chinese people that are forcing there people to smoke?

Thinks that make you go hmmmm.

I agree. Very paranoid. But now they've come to there senses, and they're not going to close any more schools, becuase they now know it's just as worse as normal influenza. (Which half sucks and half great).
