    Are you catching more male or female pokémon?

    I saw some players with whole team male or female. So, What gender are you prefer and why?

    I don't care. If I want that Pokemon I'll catch the first one I see.

    Female most, these days.

    It's funny, when the gender thing was first introduced in Gold and Silver, I was a little bratty boy and was like "Ewww, I don't want GIRLS on my team!" I absolutely refused to raise female pokemon. Later on, when I got hooked on the Battle Tower (and just battling in general) I realized my team was weak to gender based moves, so I started forcing myself to raise both genders. And now, I like to breed pokemon; females determine species and also pass natures w/ everstones, so I capture female pokemon more. In fact, I seem to like having female pokemon on my team more than males these days, which is really strange to me, considering that I used to only raise male pokemon.

    I still have gender preferences with some pokemon, though. I generally prefer a female Milotic because, hello, it looks female! Same preference with wanting a male Syther/Scizor, female Eveelutions (which are rare...:(), female Butterfrees, male Gengars, ect. But this is all just preference; it's not a hang-up like when I was little. If I have two of the same pokemon, one male, one female, I choose the strongest. Period. Well, unless of course I completely lack a certain gender on my team, but that goes without saying.

    And um.........I didn't realize until fairly recently that there are female Machamps. o_O That's just creepy.

    Same like GengarNightmare for me.
    Preferred male Pokemon years ago because i thought they were stronger/more badass/whatever, now i'm choosing randomly and only bother about Pokemon genders when i've to do breeding, or it would be something very strange like male Lopunny or female Machamp.

    Generally I don't pay much attention to the genders of my Pokemon, yet I have preferences based on their looks on what gender I pick.

    i mainly catch female, whitch is a bit weird but all good

    i catch both...didn't really think there was a difference...

    I prefer male since I like my Pokemon to share my gender ! :]

    I don't have a preference so I catch the first Pokemon I see regardless of the gender. If I want to breed it, I will use a Ditto if it turns out to be a male Pokemon.

    It depends on which pokemon, whenever I want to get a pidgey on my crystal version I want a male one. I have no idea why, and I always catch a female trapinch e.o

    If a Pokemon looks like a certain gender (Gardevoir, Machamp, MR. Mime, for goodness sakes) then it has to be that gender. However, I nickname all my Pokemon, and when I make my teams, I usually have a set nickname for that Pokemon, which are usually real names (not like... Speary the Spearow, Diggy the Diglet, etc.), so I end up searching for the gender I want. For some reason, my team ends up really balanced gender-wise this way, since all male names get boring and vice versa.

    It depends on what I want to nickname it. xD I'm picky.
    Though, with SoulSilver, I just decided to forget it. I have a thing for Eeveelutions, and I decided I'd choose names from Beatles songs for my Pokémon's nicknames... and most of those are girls' names. I ended up with five male Pokémon named Michelle, Eleanor, Lucy, Sadie, and Rita. The others, I named gender-specifically, and they're mostly even.
    Usually, it's like what I did with my Pidgey. I wanted to name it Mr. Kite, so I searched around for a male one.
    My current team is predominantly male, but that's because the specific Pokémon have a higher chance of being male.

    Oh, and I'm not going around with a female Machamp. >> It weirds me out.

    I have a tendency to catch more male Pokemon than female without even trying (probably 'coz most Pokemon have a higher chance of being male). All of my main teams in any of my games, from Silver to Platinum, include more male Pokemon. >.o
    But I don't mind. The nicknames I come up with are pretty weird and can normally work for either gender, so I don't really care whether my Pokemon's a guy or a gal. :3

    I don't have a gender preference I just get what gender they look like to me.

    For example...
    Oddish = female
    Wingull = male
    Mawile = female
    Weedle = male
