For my family, we almost always go up north a bit to cottage country and chill out on a lake. Its usually different every once and a while. We met another family while there and so our families became friends (did I mention there was a umm... particular french exchange student with them? x: )

To be honest, I wouldn't want to go down to Mexico for a vacation. It just doesn't seem like a place where I would want to go:
A)During the summer
B)It just doesn't seem like my ideal vacationing place
