I was thinking about this, and finally I have made a trhead about it. Dont the four regions in Pokemon remind you of the four seasons of weather? Here, let me explain.

Johto reminds me of Autumn, with the falling red leaves and all. It fits.

Hoenn reminds me of Summer. There is so much water, and you are always in the beach. Dont you do that in the summertime?

Sinnoh reminds me of Winter. It always seesm every cold, and there is alot of snow as well!

Kanto reminds me of Spring. It is very peaceful, and it is also the last season left!

So, now that you have read this, doesnt the four regions in the Pokemon games remind you of real life seasons?

And if I say no? :D Just kidding. I think the same as for the season/region pairings. Although, Kanto would be Spring by my thinking, because it's the best region and Spring is the best season

So what happens when they make a 5th reigon.
    T'would defeat your logic.

not only that Sinnoh is mostly winter in Platinum not Diamond/Pearl.
But I do understand what the person is saying.

What if the next generation has areas with little bit of all seasons (like all pokemon games XP from gen II+)

Good catch...I never noticed it before at least. Since there is no fifth season though, it makes me wonder if the next generation's region will introduce variable seasons either real-time or in a compressed cycle of some sort.

This wiould also allow for some interesting legendary pokemon, imagine legendary pokemon that are the essence of spring, summer, autumn, and winter. :D

It would make a good "independent" legendary (ie. Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Manaphy, Shaymin). It could be "Master over the Seasons", and have a different form for each season.

    Spring - Grass
    Summer - Fire
    Autumn - Water?
    Winter - Ice

Huh true. well a lot of things could be something in the Pokemon world but we would never know. I hope someone asks this later on in an interview.

I don't think Kanto is Spring, since Kanto doesn't really fit and you said it's Spring because it was the last one left I'll say 5th Gen could be Spring. Besides there seems to be no weather in Kanto.

    Nope. Not at all.
Hoenn still has that raining. Wth summer.
Snow was in Hoenn as well...

Sorry, but I don't see any point in that.

    It rains in summer, y'know?
...and when did it snow in Hoenn?

Anyways, I think that's a really good connection you made =D

Oh and I thought of the season legendaries idea first Timbjerr! >=(

The next region will clearly be the Smarch season :\

I never thought of Johto as an autumn place, because the only close place was Ecruteak city, and that is because that is what the theme is supposed to be.
However, I do agree with all of the others; Hoenn was very tropical, Sinnoh was the frigid area of the games, and Kanto just had that Spring feel, especially when it lacked more original places, like a desert or river area. But I digress.

OMG I never notived that dang but I did notice the climate change hoenn is tropical sinnoh is sub arctic and kanto and johtoh are just temperate though

Spring is where new things are born. Kanto is the first region, where Pokemon was born. So that fits perfectly.

Nice catch, makes plenty of sense if you ask me. I also like the idea of pokemon being the essence of the seasons, that would be very awesome.
