It could go either way. Sticking to 4th gen. they could do a R/S/E Remake, or go onto 5th. gen. and after that new game a 5th. gen. R/S/E remake. What is you opinion? Post a comment telling me what you think.

The 5th gen is either coming out in 2012 or 2013. If 2012 then there is no need to fill in a 3 year gap but if 2013 then 2011 should bring the remakes. That's my logical guess.

thats a smart guess. I would say the same. :)

Im not really looking forard to Hoenn remakes. I hope by then, we could just go to each region.

Techincally Haza if it does happen this gen(likely) then we could go to every region. With every game needed of course.

Original 5th gen games should come before anything else gets remade. >_>

Agreed. And honestly, I think a 5th gen is kinda pushing it :/

The remakes were originally conceived as a scam to get more money by Nintendo based off the excuse of "incompatibility". Unless Nintendo takes us for absolute idiots, they can't pull that ruse again. There will not be any third gen remakes.

A R/S/E remake would be great. I loved sapphire for one main reason, the story. But once you beat the E4 it gets really boring. If they ever remake R/S hopefully they put some more features at the end of the game.

I wouldn't say a R/S/E Remake would be really necessary considering that all you'll get is to experience R/S/E again in better graphics including some additional stuff. It's not needed (to me anyhow) because you'll be able to play the games using the GBA Slot, but i'm not so sure about the DSi.

I'm not a big fan of remakes without significant changes. :s If they did RSE remakes, I'd want there to be enough changes to make it feel like at least partly a different game. But in any case, original 5th gen games should come before remakes.

Technology wise, the R/S/E remakes isn't an option considering the graphics were quite advanced after the original G/S/C games and also not too much different from the new ones. The graphics of the new ones are more advanced than the R/S/E obviously, but not merit enough for a remake. Even though Sapphire is my all time favorite game (story, geography, the Pokemon, and Elite Four), I'm not wishing for a remake at this time.

    As for 5th, to be honest not sure if there's going to be one, considering many people saying Arceus is pretty much the end of the Pokemon line. @_@ However, if there is going to be a 5th gen, the people better make a bang! XD;

If there were to be both, 5th gen first and then the remakes.

I don't know. I think I'd be pretty content even if there wasn't a 5th gen. Though I'm sure there will be one and I'll probably end up getting it when it happens, lol. R/S/E remakes I could really care less for since they're kind of my least favorite in the main series. They weren't bad but I really can't just pick up Ruby or Sapphire and play it again like I can with the other games.

Although it's a massive rip off, remakes of R/S/E will probably happen in the future, whether it be on the DS or the next handheld system.

I made a thread (and it was locked because I didn't explain properly) stating my opinion, which is that they probably only remade G/S because of the release of the DSi and incompatability with GBA games... although GBC obviously doesn't work on DS. Of course, that's probably also why they put more Hoenn pokemon in Platinum.

Doesn't that make it more likely that R/S/E would be re-released?

Also, bring on gen 5, but don't make another 150 pokemon! From now on, pokemon games should have the same species as before (not including legendaries and a few newbies) but from all different previous games.

Meh, now I've gotten into a rant. :P

IDK i think gen. 5 with come as always before R/S/E as they usually do. But I think there should be at least 50 new species. Babies of pokemon that don't evolve and a few cool special evolves like Jynx (Electabuzz and Magmar got to evolve why not her?) Plus at least 5 new legends. As they always do.

The 5th gen. game should let you go aboard a ship that takes you to Kanto & Johto region. And should be for the Wii. actually see full virtual pokemon.

Despite it's drawbacks, you had to admit, the Battle Frontier was awesome, Secret Bases were cool, and Contests were more fun and strategic then those..."Super" Contests of D/P/P. People bash it mainly because of the huge amount of surfing...

This person speaks the truth, I totally agree with this

Pffft I'd hope that an entirely new game or 5 gen. came out before a remake. >___> RSE isn't that old, and wasn't in dire need of an update like RBY or GSC. It's inevitable for sometime in the future, but as of now, I still think it's not that outdated when sided to the more recent game.

But when considering a fifth generation, I wonder how legendaries could be handled? Arceus is pretty much God of the Pokemon world... Can you really get bigger than that?

I think the 5th gen will come out around 2011/2012 but some more of the popularity will be gone.

About four years later, an R/S/E remake, which could bundle Sinnoh with it, might bring back the series.

I can't see an R/S/E remake for a while yet.
