This season we're having a big summertime event! This event will be an umbrella that a lot of contests and smaller events will be happening, spanning from…now, through the GT, and until the end of September. While we don't have a concrete schedule, here's a list of upcoming events! All events are subject to change, so keep an eye on the thread! These are all in order of which they will start, besides the ongoing events.
Hosted by Archy, he is looking for a backgrounds for the Pokemon Showdown server! This is a great time to think about what you would do if you had your summer vacation in the pokemon world!
You might be familiar with our currently running open Art Battles, but here is a different take on them! These will be rapid fire battles between all who sign up/by type, tournament style to find the winners. You'll have 24 hours to create works of art! For quick turn around, this tournament will be using judged. Contact Nina or fairy if you would be interested in being a Judge rather than a contestant!
A number of users have shown an interest in renewing our Photography bug, so this contest in tandem with the upcoming challenge should help spark an interest. Taking photographs of things that reminds you or makes you think about summer memories will be the focus of this contest. (not everyone has sunshine around the globe this time of year)

Summer Scenery Background Contest
June 19th - July 3rd
Hosted by Archy, he is looking for a backgrounds for the Pokemon Showdown server! This is a great time to think about what you would do if you had your summer vacation in the pokemon world!
"We tend to change the background every every season. For this reason, the theme of this contest is summer. Feel free to choose anything that floats your boat to make your background, as long as you can relate it with summer! However, we ask to have at least one Pokèmon in the background. The competition would run for two weeks. After that, we'll run a poll for four days to choose the winner. He/She would be featured in Showdown's room introduction (His/Her gallery would be linked there) we would also give an emblem to the winner."

While we will have an organized tournament for smaller art battles, don't forget that you can sign up for these battles at any time! You are given 2 weeks to finish a challenge, but if you and your partner finish earlier you can always have a vote as soon as the previous vote is finished. After this event, we will add Speed Battles into the normal thread as a Battle Type!
Pixel Art Challenge
Looking to hone your skills on pixel art? Only creating the same thing over and over again? Head over to the Weekly Pixel Challenge, where you can gain points and emblems for participation!
Photography Challenge
This challenge will be like the Weekly Pixel Challenge, in that you have a theme or idea to take a photo of every week. At the time of this post it has not been started, but it will be very soon.
Weekend Drawing with Drawpile
Fairy and I have tested using Drawpile to draw together with everyone, and we'd like to organize times for us all to have some fun! We will be leaving it up to discussion what specific times we'd like to do it in the DCC.
Scheduled Drawpiles:
★ Saturday, June 18th 8:00pm EST
★ Sunday, June 26th 8:00pm EST
